"Mua!"

Qingwu's unclear voice came from the phone. Xia Zhitang looked at his daughter's grape-like eyes, and his heart was filled with sorrow.

The grievances that had just been vented were about to resurface. She held back her tears and chattered with Qingwu for half an hour until her daughter started yawning, then she hung up the phone.

Xia Zhitang lay on the bed looking at the smoke sensor with its light flashing on the white ceiling, and inexplicably thought of what Lin Jingming said when he drove her to the hotel.

"Separation is a major issue in life. You can't be with your children all the time, and that's true now as well as in the future."

The extremely dim street lights vaguely outlined Lin Jingming's tough outline. There was an indescribable coldness in his eyes, but Xia Zhitang could taste a subtle sense of power in his faint tone.

The two nannies and Wang Ma who were with Qingwu were also there, and my daughter had actually steadily learned to get along with multiple regular caregivers. The one who hadn't learned to let go was me...

Xia Zhitang spent twenty minutes sorting out his thoughts, looked at the time and decided to go out to buy Lin Jingming a midnight snack.

He passed by the full-length mirror and took a look at his slightly swollen skin, then turned around to open the change of clothes brought by the staff, took out a baseball cap from the bag and covered his head with it.

The room was on the second floor. When Xia Zhitang passed by, he happened to see Lin Jingming standing in front of a whiteboard in a meeting through the undrawn curtains.

He was wearing a black sports suit and writing and drawing on the whiteboard with a serious expression.

Similar scenes appeared in Xia Zhitang's memory thousands of times. They seemed distant but not unfamiliar. She could even imagine Lin Jingming's slightly rising tone and the sound of his pen scratching on the whiteboard.

He should have thrown his pen in the next second. Just as this thought popped up in Xia Zhitang's mind, Lin Jingming in the conference room really threw his pen to the ground. The metal zipper on his black jacket reflected a little light under the light.

Lin Jingming was about to say something when he saw Xia Zhitang standing outside the window and was stunned.

Xia Zhitang looked at Lin Jingming, who smoothed his hair and nodded slightly at her, and her brain suddenly short-circuited.

She subconsciously waved at Lin Jingming and fled in a somewhat embarrassed manner.

Lin Jingming frowned slightly as he looked at Xia Zhitang's disappearing clothes, and the anger that he had just suppressed burst out doubly.

Xia Zhitang rushed out of the hotel and subconsciously patted his hot cheeks, looking at the hazy clouds in the sky to calm his confused thoughts.

I think I disturbed his meeting. I really shouldn't have...

It didn't take much effort to find the good barbecue restaurant that Lin Jingming mentioned, and she walked over slowly.

I pushed the door open and found a seat in the corner. I scanned the ordering code on the table and looked through the menu. Lin Jingming's message popped up on my phone.

Lin Jingming: Wait for me for half an hour.

Xia Zhitang estimated the time and lowered his head to start placing the order. The glass door of the shop clanged shut and a burst of laughter rang out in the shop, then suddenly paused for a few seconds and turned into low whispers.

"I just thought it was Director Lin." A low voice came from the next table. Xia Zhitang glanced at the girls at the next table from under the brim of his baseball cap.

Three young blonde girls in T-shirts gathered together and chattered, exuding a youthful atmosphere.

"Me too, me too!" Another girl's voice was a little excited. Her companion patted her shoulder and glanced at Xia Zhitang in the corner.

Xia Zhitang lowered his eyes, pretending not to notice anything and continued to swipe his phone to order food.

"Both the hat and the clothes are Director Lin's style. I made a mistake at first glance." Another female voice interrupted softly, "I thought this hat looked pretty good and looked for similar styles. Guess what? The authentic one costs five figures!"

"I was just scared to death. I almost had PTSD when I saw this hat. The 'ng' he made on the set flashed through my mind!"

"Don't mention it, me too."

The topic of the few young people who thought they were very low-key quickly shifted to ordering food, but Xia Zhitang, who was sitting next to them, kept his fingertips on the menu bar for a long time without moving.

She recalled a long time ago when Lin Jingming called his assistant with a cold expression, "Send midnight snacks to my room at 9 o'clock in the evening. Yes, that Japanese restaurant."

Not long after, the production director's unintentional complaints echoed in Xia Zhitang's ears: "Director Lin's midnight snack expenses have exceeded their budget again this month. This Japanese restaurant is really too expensive!"

A vague thought flashed through Xia Zhitang's mind. She seemed to have grasped something, but quickly denied it.

Lin Jingming: Okay, come to my room?

Xia Zhitang sat next to the take-out box and looked at the screen of his mobile phone, hesitating for a rare moment.

The people at the next table were already laughing and eating skewers. They had forgotten about the incident of mistaking her for Lin Jingming, and their life continued happily.

Xia Zhitang pursed his lips, put his phone in his pocket, stood up with the takeaway box, and brushed away the slight weirdness in his heart.

When Lin Jingming opened the door, there was a towel draped over his shoulders.

"Wait a moment." He left the person in his room and went to take a shower.

Xia Zhitang listened to the sound of dripping water in the bathroom and suddenly realized that the two of them had unknowingly become so familiar with each other that they were no longer on guard against each other.

When did it all start? When did she become so certain that Lin Jingming would never hurt her that she could enjoy his kindness with a clear conscience?

Lin Jingming yawned and came out of the bathroom in his slippers, with a faint scent of dragon fragrance on his body.

Xia Zhitang lowered his eyes, opened the box, arranged the disposable dishes and chopsticks, and pretended that he hadn't noticed anything.

The two of them ate and talked about their respective shooting plans, and time passed quickly.

After rinsing his mouth, Lin Jingming came back and sat on the bed, staring at Xia Zhitang who was picking up the garbage with his head down for a while.

"Why do you still look so worried?"

Lin Jingming's sudden words startled Xia Zhitang, and her heart trembled, but her face did not show any abnormality. She even raised her eyes and looked at Lin Jingming for a few seconds.

"There's always a distance between knowing and doing," she replied to Lin Jingming. "But I feel much better now. I may not have much time to come here from now on. I wish you a smooth shoot in advance."

Lin Jingming narrowed his eyes imperceptibly: "Okay, take care of yourself first."

He suddenly chuckled, kicked off his slippers, unbuttoned his pajamas, and crawled into the quilt.

"Why are you taking off your clothes?" Xia Zhitang was a little confused.

"I'm sleepy and need to go to bed." Lin Jingming wrapped himself in the quilt and threw his pajamas on the quilt. "Please help me turn the air conditioner to 26 degrees Celsius later. Thank you."

Xia Zhitang looked at the dark pajamas thrown out by Lin Jingming and couldn't help but twitch his eyelids: "You weren't like this before."

Lin Jingming turned over and lay on his side, looking at Xia Zhitang, revealing a hint of his collarbone.

"It's very comfortable, you can try it."

His eyes swept over Xia Zhitang's bare wrists, saying, "It's a very freeing feeling to be free from restraints."

"Don't kick off the quilt and catch a cold." Xia Zhitang subconsciously retorted Lin Jingming.

He thought about Xia Zhitang's dishonest sleeping posture and couldn't help laughing: "You really need someone to watch you."

"You should go to bed early." Xia Zhitang threw the last plastic box into the trash bag with a "click, click" sound.

Lin Jingming couldn't help laughing again: "Okay, I'll have someone drive the car back for you tomorrow, and you can just go to the front desk to get the key when you check out."

Xia Zhitang subconsciously looked at Lin Jingming and met his smiling eyes.

She looked away, pursed her lips, picked up the garbage bag, and walked to the air conditioning control panel: "This is all a smart system, it should be voice-controlled."

"Old people can't use this kind of high technology." Lin Jingming deliberately teased Xia Zhitang, "Why don't you learn it first and teach me when you can."

"Who said that men are in their prime at 31, and when my flower blooms at 40, all other flowers will bloom and die?" Xia Zhitang couldn't help but retort to the man lying on the bed and acting like a rogue.

"Now you say it, thank you for the compliment." Lin Jingming looked at Xia Zhitang with a smile, his eyes sparkling with crystal light.

Xia Zhitang subconsciously fanned his face with his hands, and when he came to his senses, he stiffened his face and snorted coldly.

"Come on, you'd better go and have some fun with Zhou Gong."

The lights were turned off one after another with "click, click, click". In the darkness, Lin Jingming could not see Xia Zhitang's face, but could only feel her weak breathing.

Then a series of hurried footsteps sounded, the handle turned, a ray of light shone into the room, and then with a "bang", the room fell into silence.

Lin Jingming's gentle laughter filled the dark room. He reached out and groped for the mobile phone lying on the bedside table. Ignoring the series of red dots, he searched for Cheng Shubai's profile picture and clicked it.

Spring is here and the scenery is bright: My daughter has grown up

Then I turned on the Do Not Disturb mode, threw my phone away, wrapped myself in the quilt and fell into a sweet dream.

Cheng Shubai, who happened to pick up his phone, saw the message pop up from Lin Jingming and immediately replied with a string of question marks. However, he waited and waited but there was no reply from Lin Jingming.

Five minutes later, Cheng Shubai picked up his phone again and finally realized that he had been fooled. He sneered and gave Lin Jingming the middle finger.

When I opened my eyes in a strange hotel, the sunlight had already slipped into the room through the gaps in the curtains.

Xia Zhitang stared at the lively light for a while before slowly getting up to wash up.

I paused as I passed the full-length mirror. The black T-shirt I was wearing was very comfortable and fitted me perfectly…

She stroked the soft fabric of the hem with her fingertips and sighed inwardly: Why at this time?

After a moment, she smiled bitterly and reached out to touch herself in the mirror.

How stupid! Do you really think that everything will be fine if you reject the other party without doing anything?

In the final analysis, she herself couldn't bear to part with him. She couldn't bear to part with his kindness and his strength.

Her fingertips ran across the black T-shirt in the mirror.

How mean! He knew everything but said nothing.

A tear slid down her cheek and sank into the black T-shirt, and was instantly absorbed by the highly absorbent material.

Xia Zhitang inexplicably recalled the few kisses they had, kisses that hovered between rationality and madness, as if the world would collapse in the next second.
