Life hangs on
In Tibet in winter, wild yaks walk through the snow and climb mountains, searching for the remaining grass under the snow and unfrozen rivers to quench their thirst.
This means that they cannot settle down in one corner during the cold winter, and wandering around is their way of survival.
As long as Xia Zhitang and his team stay near the very few unfrozen glaciers, they can successfully wait for various highland elves.
Duoji and Qin Ye were both extremely alert. The freezing weather and the glaciers where all kinds of animals gathered would be extremely harsh tests for the health and safety of the filming team.
The filming progressed smoothly until the last day. As long as they could get through tonight smoothly, their family could start their journey home.
A group of precious golden wild yaks carefully protected their cubs in the middle and headed towards the glacier.
They traveled through the river that was almost frozen, and finally chose a place with a wide view to stop and drink water.
"Director Lin, it's too far away. Even if we zoom to the maximum, we can only capture the big scene." The cameraman looked at the viewfinder with a frown.
Lin Jingming communicated with Doji and decided to release the drone first and then march 200 meters together.
Because the surface ahead was frozen ice, they didn't dare drive and could only carry their equipment and move forward on relatively solid ground.
For safety reasons, they deliberately chose a shore base.
The back and right side are relatively open and suitable for evacuation, and the left side is a relatively solid ice layer as a retreat route in case of emergency.
Just as the equipment was set up, the clouds suddenly became thicker. Xia Zhitang looked at the sky with some uneasiness, and discussed with Lin Jingming and Doji to prepare to retreat in half an hour.
"Call it a day!" Lin Jingming looked at his sports watch and called for a stop.
"Director Lin is in good condition this time, so we can continue filming for a while." The cameraman looked at the camera reluctantly. After all the long years of filming outdoors, this was the only time he felt so refreshed.
"Safety is the most important." Lin Jingming looked at the increasingly thick clouds and insisted on putting safety first.
Just as he finished packing his luggage, the herd of wild yaks suddenly ran towards the northwest, and Doji's face suddenly changed.
"Wolves! Retreat!" A group of wild wolves were keenly observed running towards the yak herd from the southeast.
This was not the first time the camera crew had encountered wolves. They quickly grabbed their equipment and ran after Doji.
The person in charge of holding the weapon quickly drew his weapon while running - for fear of becoming the target of the wolves.
After running for just a few minutes, Doji suddenly stopped.
"There is a second wave of wolves here!" His face turned pale. Another group of wolves ran towards them from the direction of their original plan to retreat.
Doggie realized that the severe cold weather had caused the two groups of wolves to cooperate and hunt together.
He immediately threw a flare, and the wolves slowed down slightly, but did not retreat.
Doji quickly turned his head to determine his current direction.
There was a group of wolves in the south, a group in the southeast, mountains in the north, and a herd of yaks running towards the northwest, so they had no choice but to retreat from the west.
"Qin Ye, you take the lead and cross the glacier to the west. I will follow behind you." He gave orders quickly and replenished another round of deterrent ammunition.
Everyone followed closely together, carefully running across the glacier. Fortunately, although Qin Ye was accompanying the filming crew as a medical technician, he also had considerable experience in wilderness survival and was able to find a relatively safe and simple evacuation route for everyone.
Everyone ran with difficulty. Although a few people could not stand the thin oxygen in the plateau and took out the small oxygen cans in their backpacks and breathed them while running, the team was still evacuating in an orderly manner.
After breaking away from the wild yak and wolf's direct pursuit route, although the wolves were getting closer and closer, they had no intention of chasing them due to the deterrence of Doji's weapon.
Doji and Qin Ye, who were always paying attention to the movements of the wolf pack, couldn't help but breathe a sigh of relief, but they still didn't dare to relax - the wolves were too cunning.
Xia Zhitang was a little exhausted and fell behind. Lin Jingming followed her calmly.
When crossing an unfrozen river, Xia Zhitang took a step with all his strength. Although he stepped on the ice, the ice that was not completely frozen made a cracking sound.
Xia Zhitang's mind went blank, but someone pushed him from behind. When the sound of falling into the water was heard, Xia Zhitang was kneeling on the ice.
When she turned around, she saw Lin Jingming kneeling in the icy water.
Xia Zhitang was stunned for a second, then immediately stood up and pulled Lin Jingming up. The two said nothing, holding hands and continuing to follow the team.
When Lin Jingming fell into the water, Doji's eyelids twitched violently. He subconsciously turned his head to look at the wolf pack, only to see that the leader of the pack had also noticed the movement here and was staring at them.
His hand was already on the trigger, prepared for the worst.
Fortunately, Lin Jingming climbed out of the ice very quickly. Although Doji was a little worried, he couldn't care less at the moment. He could only try his best to walk to a safe area and then make plans.
Xia Zhitang noticed that Lin Jingming's pace slowed down, and decisively took out a small oxygen cylinder with his free hand and handed it to Lin Jingming.
Everyone ran for about ten minutes. Doji looked at the wolves that were already far away and asked everyone to stop.
Xia Zhitang looked at Lin Jing's face, which showed he understood: "How wet are your clothes?"
Lin Jingming's lips moved slightly, and as the oxygen tank fell, he fell backwards. Doji took a step forward and grabbed him.
Qin Ye took out the aluminum foil and spread it on the ground. While helping to lift Lin Jingming, he reminded everyone: "Wipe off any sweat immediately."
Xia Zhitang helped everyone take off Lin Jingming's pants, only to find that except for the outermost layer of combat pants, which could not be seen because of the material problem and did not absorb water, the two layers of tight pants inside were wet.
She took off her coat with trembling hands and wrapped it around Lin Jingming's legs together with Doji and Qin Ye's coats.
When the camera crew struggled to carry Lin Jingming back to the base, the sky had already darkened and goose-feather-like snowflakes mixed with strong winds began to blow.
Duoji held the satellite phone, his face grim. "It's snowing heavily outside. The rescue team can't come today. We have to rely on ourselves."
Qin Ye put Lin Jingming on oxygen and wrapped him in layers of medical emergency blankets. Xia Zhitang tore off a hot pack and put it on him.
Even so, Lin Jingming still began to tremble, and Qin Ye injected warm saline solution into Lin Jingming's body.
"We need to give him some nutrition. This won't work." Qin Ming prepared a thin liquid mixed with ghee and glucose and fed it into Lin Jingming's mouth with a spoon.
However, the unconscious man refused to swallow, so Xia Zhitang grabbed the cup and said, "I'll do it."
She held the thin liquid in her mouth, pinched Lin Jingming's and drank it.
Although some of it still flowed out, I managed to swallow half a cup of nutrient solution.
Xia Zhitang felt that this night was extremely unbearable. There was a howling wind outside and the temperature was dropping little by little.
Lin Jingming's lips gradually became lighter, the number on the thermometer kept dropping, and Qin Ye's face became more ugly.
Xia Zhitang wrapped herself in layers of blankets and held Lin Jingming's cold hand tightly.
"Lin Jingming must hold on until dawn." Xia Zhitang whispered in his ear.
Qin Ye looked at the thermometer and watch: "If his temperature doesn't rise in one hour, he will need emergency treatment."
There were still two hours before dawn. Xia Zhitang took off the amulet given by Gu Zian from around his neck with trembling hands and stuffed it into Lin Jingming's chest.
Time passed minute by minute, and Xia Zhitang fed him another round of nutrient solution with his lips, but Lin Jingming was still trembling and unconscious.
Qin Ye looked at his watch and saw that there were still 30 minutes left. He called again to confirm the fastest time the rescue team could arrive and was mentally prepared to provide first aid for Lin Jingming.
When Xia Zhitang saw Qin Ye's expression, he had guessed about 70% of what he knew. With sore eyes, he pressed his face against Lin Jingming's chest through layers of cloth, feeling the vague sound of his trembling heartbeat.
Suddenly, there was a sound of cloth being rustled outside the tent, and Qin Ye immediately rushed over to check it out vigilantly.
"Wolf cub!" he exclaimed.
"What? Wolf?" Doji poked his head out of the next tent, touching his weapon.
Through the firelight swaying in the wind in the center of the tent, they saw a wolf cub sneak in alone at some point.
Doji pointed all his weapons at the wolf cubs, and then found that the wolf cubs did not show any attacking gesture towards them. Instead, they squeezed into Lin Jingming's tent with an anxious look on their faces.
"Is it too cold and wants to hide in the tent?" Doji was a little confused.
"Hey, little wolf, you need to go to the fire to keep warm." He knew how kind Miss Xia was to this non-aggressive wolf cub. Although he was worried, he didn't dare to expel it immediately. "Behave yourself and don't try anything tricky. We have weapons!"
The wolf cub looked at Doji anxiously, then looked up at Qin Ye anxiously.
Qin Ye looked at the patch of hair on the wolf cub's foot and suddenly remembered something: "It looks like the wolf cub we rescued!"
The wolf cub looked at Qin Ye excitedly, and he even saw a hint of excitement in the wolf's eyes.
Xia Zhitang, who was lying on Lin Jingming's chest, seemed to feel some kind of guidance from the unknown. She raised her head quickly and said, "Qin Ye, let it in."
"It's a wolf!" Doggie stared in fear. "No matter how small it is, it eats meat."
"Let it in, and I'll take the responsibility if anything goes wrong." Xia Zhitang didn't know why she was so insistent, but subconsciously she felt that she should do so.
Qin Ye took out two stun batons and handed one to Xia Zhitang. She hesitated for a moment, but still took it.
Qin Ye didn't unzip the tent until he confirmed that the stun gun was working properly.
"You are crazy!" Doji was so anxious that he jumped up and down, grabbing a homemade weapon and squeezing into Lin Jingming's tent.
For a moment, four adults and a wolf cub were squeezed into the narrow double tent.
The wolf cub first sniffed around Xia Zhitang, rubbed her hand affectionately, and then turned to look at Lin Jingming.
Xia Zhitang touched the wolf cub's head with a feeling, his eyes a little sore: "He is sick. He helped you before. Did you say you would come to see him off?"
Xia Zhitang paused and said, "Thank you for coming to see him. He would be very happy if he knew." She suddenly thought of something, and a cruel look flashed in her eyes: "But if you hurt him, I will kill you myself."
The wolf cub whimpered and rubbed her hand, then slowly walked towards Lin Jingming.
Dorje exclaimed, "What is it doing?"
