Chapter 102 Starry Sky (Part 1)
"Primatis, from now on, you will temporarily take over all matters of the General Staff until I come out. Florsia, guard the gate, no one can enter."
After giving instructions, Vashj entered a special room and locked the door. Richard sat cross-legged on the floor and asked, "Is everything ready? Let's get started."
Vashj also sat cross-legged and immersed her consciousness into the void. Medivh's spell made the void no longer pitch black. There were colorful little dots of light flashing in the darkness. These dots of light were the energy flowing out of different worlds, white holy light, purple shadows, blue frost, and even technological energy with arcs. Richard and Vashj usually track these energies in the void to find new worlds. This time they found and locked Draenor through the Dark Portal, because the time for the tribe to open the portal was approaching.
Draenor, the Black Temple.
The Alliance's army was still a step too late.
"Look there!" Khadgar pointed to the top of the temple. Blue, purple and white beams of light shot into the sky. Turayan led the assault team to immediately open a path. After climbing up the temple, they found that several portals had been opened on the top of the temple. The tremendous energy overflowed from the portals and gathered on Ner'zhul. The energy lifted Ner'zhul into the air. Ner'zhul in the air held the Book of Medivh in his left hand and the Staff of Sargeras in his right hand. The Eye of Dalaran floated in front of his chest. He was dressed in hunting clothes, like an immortal descending to the earth.
Ner'zhul looked down at Khadgar and the others and laughed, "You are too late! I have completed my magic. No world can stop us! No creature can control our race..."
The burning sensation in his left hand stopped Ner'zhul's laughter. The Book of Medivh burned in his hand and soon turned into ashes. The infused energy suddenly lost balance, and Ner'zhul fell heavily from the air. Khadgar took this opportunity to use magic to take the Eye of Dalaran back into his hand.
"Ahem... ahem." Ner'zhul propped himself up, "Take the orb if you want! Anyway, you can't stop me!"
Ner'zhul waved his right hand, and a red wall of fire stopped the Alliance's progress.
"Let's go!" The two orcs beside Ner'zhul helped Ner'zhul up, and Ner'zhul's most loyal guards surrounded him and walked into a portal. After they all entered, the portal also disappeared.
"Damn it!" Stepping over the wall of flames, Turalyon's hammer hit the ground hard, but he still let him run away.
Khadgar twisted the ashes of the Book of Medivh on the ground. Khadgar frowned. This felt like ordinary paper. The Book of Medivh should be magic paper. This is fake! Where is that really? The Black Dragon King was there when Dalaran was attacked. Was the Book of Medivh in his hand?
Before Khadgar could think about it, the tremors of the earth and Turalyon's exclamation brought Khadgar back to reality.
"What is this!" Khadgar looked at the mountains in the distance in horror. The stone mountains in the distance fell straight down. On the other side of the mountains was the sea. The huge white waves stirred up hit the mountains. This was not over yet. Some peaks collapsed from the middle, some fell twice, and some smashed here. Khadgar quickly raised a barrier to protect everyone.
"What's going on?" Turayan's voice was a little trembling. Khadgar closed his eyes and felt it, then opened them in despair.
"Draenor is finished. The energy brought by these portals will completely destroy this place! We must find a way to escape!"
"How to escape?" Danas asked.
"Portals! These portals connect to other worlds. We can use them to hide. If possible, we can come back. If not..."
Khadgar didn't say anything else. Thinking that he might leave his hometown forever, Danas's face was full of sorrow. He asked, "Do we have any other choice?"
Khadgar shook his head, "The earth is breaking much faster than we are. Except for the gryphons, we can hardly escape, and the gryphons can't take all of us away."
"Forget it, I won't abandon my children again." Danas had experienced the pain of abandoning his troops once, and he didn't want to experience it a second time. "Isn't it just an unknown area? Let's go! The Alliance will last forever!"
Danas took his troops to choose a portal. Kurdran, who was rescued by Danas as a captive, also walked into the portal with his gryphons.
After the rockfall stopped, Khadgar also put away the barrier. The continuous supply of energy made him a little tired. Turayan was commanding his troops to pass through the portal. He patted Khadgar on the shoulder and said, "Let's go too."
Khadgar shook his head and said, "I can't leave yet. Draenor is connected to Azeroth. I must close the Dark Portal here, otherwise our world may be destroyed."
Turayan looked at him and knew how difficult this task was. Khadgar was very likely to miss the best time to retreat. He wanted to comfort him but couldn't say it. Turayan made up his mind and turned to pass through the portal. Aqiang and his elves followed him in. Khadgar picked up the Staff of Sargeras, looked at them, and teleported to the Dark Portal.
Khadgar found the commander of the troops stationed here and informed him of the seriousness of the situation. The commander led the troops to evacuate in batches, and he also sent people to inform those troops far away.
After waiting for a day, the troops of the Dark Portal, Glory Hold and Hellfire Fortress withdrew, and the troops farther away had not arrived yet. Khadgar could not wait any longer. The violent energy was getting closer and closer to here. He had to close the Dark Portal. Although it was sad, those soldiers were likely to lose their lives, but more lives in Azeroth must be saved!
Khadgar threw the Staff of Sargeras into the time and space rift, holding the rune given to him by Richard in one hand to extract the energy inside, and the other hand to transfer energy to the Staff of Sargeras. The sudden increase in energy destroyed the original structure of the space-time rift, and the space-time rift exploded, closing the Dark Portal.
Khadgar leaned on his legs. He had just used his last energy to release a barrier to protect himself from injury, but now he had no strength to teleport. Seeing the violent storm getting closer and closer, Khadgar smiled bitterly. He was still unfortunately dying here. Although he had foreseen it before entering Draenor, he was only 22 years old and he was really unwilling to accept it. Richard and the sisters of the Golden Rose, I have failed your expectations...
Fate always seems to play jokes. The space-time rift that slowly shrank after the explosion suddenly produced a huge attraction, sucking Khadgar in. The next moment, the place where Khadgar had just stood was engulfed by the storm.
