☆450. Chapter 451: The Sky of Dalaran (Part 2)

Chapter 451: The Skies of Dalaran (Part 2)

The first phase of the battle was over, and Arthas had his way. He had taken the Book of Medivh, which had finally returned to Dalaran after many journeys. The tome was large and heavy, bound in red leather with gold inlays, and the cover was intricately carved with a black raven with its wings spread. The book was still stained with Antonidas' blood, and Arthas wondered if it would make it more effective.

Invincible moved beneath him, stamping its front hooves and shaking its neck as if it still had a body to be infested by mosquitoes. They looked down at Dalaran from atop a hill, and even though the streets were covered in blood, the city's towers still shone with gold, white, and purple. The mages he had fought not long ago now stood beside him. Most of them were too damaged to be used much more than projectiles at the invading enemy, but some... some were still useful. The skills they had learned in life now served the Lich King in death.

Kel'Thuzad was as excited as a child on a festive morning, and he flipped through the Book of Medivh, his mind focused on this new treasure. At first, Arthas looked at him with some temper, but he became more and more impatient as he waited, so Arthas asked her: "The ring of power has been arranged as you requested, lich. Are you ready to begin summoning?"

"Almost," Kel'Thuzad replied without looking up, his skeletal fingers turning a page in the book. "There is so much knowledge to absorb. Medivh's knowledge of demons alone is astonishing. I suspect he is far more powerful than anyone imagines."

As Kel'Thuzad spoke, a dark green vortex began to form, and Tichondrius appeared just as he finished speaking. Under his command, Stromgarde has become a ruin, and now in the entire north, only part of Quel'Thalas and Alterac are still struggling to resist.

"Lich, knight, well done. What is certain is that my master has responded to our summons. In other words, we are responsible for the preparations for his coming here. Today, right now, your summoning should begin quickly!" The tone of the Lord of Terror was still very arrogant, which made Arthas even more unhappy. What kind of an arrogant guy with a broken arm!

The Lord of Terror disappeared just as quickly. Kel'Thuzad winked at Arthas to be patient, and floated towards the summoning location. In the middle of the range marked by four small obelisks, there is a shining circle with an arcane symbol engraved on it. When Kel'Thuzad took the book into position, the edge of the circle emitted a purple light as if it were alive. At the same time, with a slight explosion, eight pillars of fire rose from his side. Kel'Thuzad turned his head and stared at Arthas with shining eyes.

"The survivors in Dalaran can sense the power of this spell." Kel'Thuzad warned. "Don't let them disturb me, otherwise we will be finished."

"I will protect your bones, lich." Arthas assured him with a smile.

As Kel'Thuzad promised, it would be quite easy to enter Dalaran, kill those who set up the barrier to block them, and then take what they needed. Arthas even killed Master Antonidas, which was very lucky, but Prince Kael's body was seriously injured, and Antonidas used his power to teleport him out of Dalaran. At this moment, Arthas killed Antonidas, who had no defense, and the power of the barrier weakened in an instant. Before that, the power of the barrier was just as Antonidas said, it would constantly erode the bodies of undead creatures. From the moment the undead creatures stepped into the barrier, the barrier began to scrape the skin on the undead until there was nothing left. Now, they have nothing. If Jaina was there, he believed that she would come out to face him and persuade him as before, but she failed before, and she would not have better luck this time.

Arthas suddenly focused his attention back to the present. The gates of Dalaran were now wide open, and Arthas pursed his gray lips and smiled. The previous natural disaster had the advantage of surprise. Dalaran will always have many powerful mages, but they do not have well-trained soldiers, and not all the mages of the Kirin Tor are in the city. But now so many hours have passed, and they are not idle. They sent an army. Arthas likes such a battle. He needs such a fierce battle to bury the memories of Jaina and his youth, as well as Antonidas and Kael'thas in his heart.

He raised Frostmourne, feeling the sword's excitement in his hands, and the Lich King's gentle voice came to his mind.

"Frostmourne is thirsty," he said to his army, pointing the sword at the armored defenders of the Greatmaster City. "Let us satisfy its thirst!"

The Scourge army roared, and the shouts of the first mages to be transformed were especially loud. Arthas was very happy. A part of his terrible army stayed behind to protect Kel'Thuzad, guarded by his most proud creations, and the vast majority of the rest followed their leader. Among the soldiers sent by the Kirin Tor to defend the city, Arthas recognized the uniforms of many people. They had been friends, but that was in the past, as unimportant as yesterday's weather. It was much easier now, and there was nothing to think about except satisfaction. Frostmourne also feasted on souls with equal glee, rising and falling, slicing through plate armor as easily as flesh.

The first wave of soldiers had already fallen, either resurrected to fight for the Scourge or abandoned where they were worthless. Now a second wave of attacks rushed up, this time with the help of mages in the team, they wore the purple robes of Dalaran with huge eye symbols embroidered on them. However, Arthas also had his reinforcements.

The demon king had not yet arrived, but the demon's minions had already arrived, and it seemed that the demons wanted to protect themselves as well.

A huge meteorite roared down from the sky, trailing green fel flames behind it. Their impact shook the ground, leaving a huge crater, and then stone golems crawled out, bound and controlled by evil green energy.

Arthas glanced over his shoulder. Kel'Thuzad was suspended in the air, arms outstretched, horned head tilted back. Crackling energy shot out of him, gradually forming a green sphere. Then, the lich suddenly lowered his arms and stepped out of the circle. Here comes the Demon King!
