☆67. Chapter 67: The Fire of Alterac

Chapter 67: The Fire of Alterac

The war on the sea came to a temporary end, and the situation in Alterac became more complicated.

Under Richard's command, the Twilight Cult took advantage of the people's dissatisfaction and secretly instigated uprisings in various parts of Alterac. In a flash, half of Alterac raised the banner of resistance against Perenolde. And Perenolde's army took great pains to recapture a pass. The only thing that Alterac's army was famous for was defense, of course, it was only mountain defense.

Perenolde, who was worried that the whole of Alterac would lose control, finally reluctantly asked for support from his two neighbors. What he didn't expect was that these two neighbors who usually had bad intentions actually agreed readily.

After a brief meeting, the attack direction of the three kingdoms' armies was determined: Perenolde concentrated his forces to attack his own capital, while the armies of Lordaeron and Stromgarde were responsible for clearing the rebellions on both sides. Lothar's main force blocked the rebels from behind to prevent them from escaping.

In Perenolde's marching tent, a map was drawn in a mess.

Perenolde raised his head: "What are those two old guys planning?"

Haas shook his head.

"It's really useless." Perenolde continued to draw lines on the map.

"Click." Perenolde threw the pen on the map. "Forget it. I don't want to think about it anymore. The capital is more important. How dare they stay on my land? Has!"

"Here!"

Perenolde stared at him closely. "We must take the first two passes tomorrow morning! Our country's army cannot be ridiculed as an army that can't even defeat farmers!"

Has gritted his teeth and responded, "Yes! Your Majesty!"

Terenas' troops marched from Lordaeron to the northwest of Alterac. The heavy armored troops cleared the way up the mountain. They opened a path in the dense forest that allowed the army to pass smoothly.

Terenas stood on the hillside and ordered: "Take your men to build a sling on the cliff above, and make it more concealed."

The orcs' defeat was a foregone conclusion. After the victory in the war, who knows what the Alliance will become, especially Alterac. Although there is no evidence for Perenolde's betrayal, it is enough to make people alert. Once there is a first time, there will be a second time. God knows when he will come again. Lordaeron can't stand such a disaster. It's better to take some precautions early.

Stromgarde, which clashed with Alterac every now and then, did not do things as covertly as Lordaeron. Hundreds of Solas warriors swung axes in a row and chopped down trees one by one, from the mountain to the top. The originally green hills have been chopped bare.

One general couldn't help but said, "Your Majesty, isn't what we did a little bit..."

Solas said dissatisfiedly, "What's the matter! I'm already giving him face by not helping the rebels fight him! Still thinking that I'll sacrifice my own warriors to help him quell the rebellion? Dream on! Keep chopping them down, chop them all down!"

"Bang!"

Perenolde, who had already reached the outskirts of the capital, slammed the table and roared angrily.

"Solas, you bastard!" He

actually took the opportunity to cut down the barrier in the southeast direction of Alterac. The military strength of Alterac was far less than that of Stromgarde. The reason why it could fight with them for so many years was because of the forest at the border between the two countries, which was actually cut down by them!

Hass came in and said, "Your Majesty, the envoys who came to persuade us to surrender have returned, and the city refuses to surrender."

"Then fight! Fight hard!"

"Yes!" Hass took the order and prepared to attack the capital.

Perenolde clenched his fist and slammed the table hard: "Damn Solas, I have taken back the capital, and I will destroy you first!"

Kozan Island.

Richard asked, "What's the situation in Alterac?"

Vashj replied, "The king's army has already reached the capital, and the capital will change hands in a few days."

Li Xiang thought for a moment and said, "It's OK. The orcs have regrouped in the south. Let's withdraw our people and don't let anyone find out where they are."

"What about Ivan?"

Richard made a gesture of slicing his neck, "Of course we have to deal with him. He is a person who can prove that Perenolde has connections with the tribe."

Vashj was puzzled and said, "Master, why do we have to erase all the evidence related to Perenolde and the orcs?"

"If the Alliance has evidence, Perenolde will be punished or even put under house arrest, and the power of Alterac will most likely fall into the hands of other countries. If Perenolde still controls Alterac, with the impact of this incident, several countries will be suspicious of each other and even cause some friction, which is much more useful than the Alliance that appears to be harmonious on the surface."

Isa, who was temporarily living in Perenolde's palace, received an order from Kozan Island, tore up the paper with the order and threw it into the brazier. The entourage beside her was sent by her to invite Ivan.

Isa gently wiped a dagger with exquisite patterns carved on it.

"Huh" blew it gently and hid it in the wide robe.

"Miss Isa, what's up? Perenolde's army has begun to attack the city."

"I have a piece of news to tell you." Isa approached Ivan.

Suddenly, Isa grasped the dagger and stabbed it accurately into Ivan's left chest. Ivan looked at her in astonishment.

"Your mission is over." Isa pulled out the dagger and wiped the blood on it with her hand. Ivan fell to the ground with a plop, and a lot of blood was scattered on the floor.

Isa said to one of the followers: "Order our people to retreat to the designated location, and move quickly."

She said to another follower: "Burn this place."

The three hurriedly did not see Ivan's hand moving.

A raging fire rose in the palace, and a person who fell in a pool of blood slowly climbed up.

"Ahem, fortunately there is a hemostatic rune. Ahem, you didn't expect my heart to be on the left side." Ivan. Salosic groped for a way to escape in the thick smoke...

The Alterac Rebellion, having lost its main fighting force, could no longer keep Perenolde's troops outside the capital. Has commanded the army to rush into the streets and alleys to wipe out the remnants. Perenolde walked into his capital in a swagger after the battle, but he heard bad news as soon as he walked in.

"Your Majesty! Your Majesty!" A soldier with a blackened face knelt down in front of Perenolde. "Your Majesty! Ivan Salošić set a fire in the palace. Everything inside was burned. The queen and the prince were also..."

Perenolde had an ominous premonition in his heart: "What happened? Tell me quickly!"

The soldier said in a crying voice: "The queen and the prince were also burned to death!"

Perenolde lost his balance and fell backwards. The guards beside him hurried to support him.

Smelling the burning smell in the air, tears welled up in Perenolde's eyes: "It turns out that the fire just now was..."

Before he finished speaking, Perenolde's eyes went dark and he passed out.
