Chapter 1: Doomsday Train

Rumble——!

Rumble——!

Bai Xing woke up to the loud noise of the train. She leaned against a corner of the carriage, and the floor under her hands was shaking slightly.

She frowned and looked around quickly.

She found herself in a train cargo hold. There was no cargo stacked here, and there were many other people in the carriage. Some of them had just woken up like her, and some were still sleeping.

Because of human beings' uncontrolled development of the earth, the end of the world is coming. One day, a question suddenly appeared in the air in front of Bai Xing: Are you willing to join the doomsday train?

Bai Xing looked weakly at the people curled up in the ruins, then looked at the quiet city outside, where countless buildings collapsed under the weight of the snow. She raised her frozen purple hands and clicked "Yes" with a trembling hand.

When she woke up again, she was already here.

As more and more people woke up, the carriage gradually became noisy. Bai Xing frowned, dragged her weak body, and tried to hide herself in the corner. Her lips had become pale and bloodless due to lack of food for many days, but her eyes were bright and clear. She looked coldly at the noisy crowd, and the noise woke up more people.

"Where is this?" A man with messy hair and dirty body shouted loudly. A young man wearing glasses next to him was still asleep and leaned on the man. The man stood up and kicked him away, rubbing his shoes on his clothes without any care.

A middle-aged woman not far from him saw his action and shrank back holding the little boy in her arms.

The man caught sight of her movements, and suddenly walked over with a playful grin on his face, picking up his shoes. He stretched out his hand to touch the woman's face, but was slapped away by the woman. The man's face suddenly changed, and he slapped the child. The child was frightened and burst into tears.

Everyone else in the car looked over, and some couldn't stand it anymore and directly scolded the man: "You bully a woman and a child who are powerless, and you still call yourself a man? How shameful."

The man's face turned pale and he became angry in an instant. He walked towards the person who spoke. The man felt a little nervous when he saw him coming, but because so many people were watching, he couldn't retreat.

"What's it to you if I just play with a woman? You're so nosy. I'll beat you to death, you bastard." The man said viciously.

The man who spoke later did not give in, and the two soon started to wrestle.

There was no emotion in Bai Xing's eyes. She looked at the other people in the carriage. Their eyes showed either gloating, fear, or disgust.

A few more people went to stop the fight and got hit a few times in the chaos. The fight suddenly became more chaotic.

In the noisy environment, Bai Xing quickly analyzed the information she had received. She noticed that the man with glasses who had been kicked before had woken up. He looked at the shoe prints on his body but didn't dare to say anything. He was not very old, and there was a hint of fatigue on his face. He was wearing a white shirt and looked like an office worker.

At the beginning, there was a little girl next to the man. She looked about eight or nine years old, with a pale and thin face, dirty clothes, and dry and greasy hair. The little girl looked at the man being beaten in the crowd, pursed her lips and quietly hid in the crowd.

Also, Bai Xing secretly glanced at the smiling man in a gold-threaded uniform and a top hat who appeared at the door of the carriage at some point in time.

As if aware of being watched, the man suddenly looked over. Bai Xing instantly shrank back, clutching her clothes tightly, and looked at the fighting crowd with some fear. The man looked around, didn't find anything, and turned his gaze back to the fighting crowd with a smile.

Bai Xing lowered her eyes to hide the slight surprise in them.

The fight over there was barely separated by the crowd, and when they suddenly came to this place, everyone was angry. At first, the man turned his head and saw the little girl who wanted to run away. He struggled to break free from the crowd, rushed over, grabbed the girl's hair, and punched and kicked her.

When everyone was about to step forward to separate the two, a young man suddenly stepped forward and punched the man on the temple with lightning speed. The man let go of his hand in pain, and the little girl quickly ran behind the young man.

"Damn it, there's always someone trying to get in my way." The man cursed and swung a punch at the young man.

The young man dodged and at the same time seized the man's weakness and punched him in the abdomen. The man bent over in pain and covered his stomach. The young man raised his leg and hit the man's chin with his knee. His movement was clean and neat, and the force was so great that the man fell to the ground in an instant, unable to move and unable to curse.

He squatted down and was about to reach out to grab the man's hair, but then he withdrew his hand in disgust and said coldly: "What's your name?"

"You..." Before he could finish his words, the man suddenly stopped talking as he looked at the fist in front of him. A drop of cold sweat slid down his forehead. He spoke reluctantly, "Li Liguo."

"Tsk." The young man sneered, "A piece of trash like you is worthy of being called Liguo."

Li Liguo had a look of resentment on his face, but he didn't dare to say anything. When he saw the little girl behind the man, his face suddenly darkened and he gritted his teeth and said, "Hurry up and get over here and pay me back."

The young man frowned, dragged his body to block Li Liguo's sight, and asked with a half-smile, "Who should come over? How about I come over?"

Li Liguo choked, but refused to accept the result: "Old man, it's none of your business how I discipline my own daughter."

The young man had a wicked smile on his face. He slowly rolled up his sleeves, pulled down the zipper of his jacket a little, and unbuttoned two buttons of his blue shirt underneath.

But Li Liguo's eyes were startled for a moment and he suddenly avoided it. The man frowned and the people around him started talking.

"It seems to be the police."

"Is he here to rescue us?"

"The police should know something, right?"

The man suddenly realized something, looked down at his clothes, frowned, and sneered after a moment of silence.

"Pa pa pa!" The sudden applause startled everyone and they all looked towards the place where the sound came from.

Bai Xing followed the crowd and looked over with a puzzled look. It was the man in uniform.

"What a wonderful scene." The man said with a smile and walked over to Li Liguo and the young man.

"Hello everyone, welcome to Doomsday Train. I am the conductor of Train No. 3967. We will be with each other for a long time in the future, so I think it would be better for everyone to get along with each other in a friendly manner. What do you think?" He looked at Li Liguo and the young man as he said the last sentence.

When Li Liguo saw the conductor coming, he instantly stood up and got up from the ground regardless of anything. He went up to grab the conductor's clothes. The next second, a scream resounded throughout the carriage.

Everyone broke out in cold sweats as they watched Li Liguo curled up on the ground, holding his legs and screaming in pain. The train conductor held a black cane in his hand and, like a gentleman, tapped the man's leg lightly, breaking the man's leg bone.
