Chapter 15 Mutated Blood Maple

Tsk, that’s difficult.

Bai Xing shook her head and planned to see if there were any weak points. If there were still none, she would decide to give up. Although she had a hunch that the things this mutated blood maple would give would be very good, the risk was too great.

As she got a little closer, she suddenly noticed that there were faint red lines of light on the dark brown branches, flickering on and off, just like human blood vessels, transporting fresh blood.

Bai Xing began to wonder if she would have any hope of winning the battle if she caused damage to those blood vessels.

At this time, she saw a group of people entering the school from another direction. She retreated into the ruins of the collapsed teaching building, hiding her tracks, and then looked in the direction of the group.

In fact, when she got off the train, she saw people getting off from other carriages, but the station was very large with many exits, so everyone tacitly walked around the city and hunted on their own, and it seemed that everything was fine at the moment.

Bai Xing didn't want to team up with others. She could handle the current mutant beasts by herself. She hoped to hone herself in battle. Moreover, there would always be conflicts when the group distributed the spoils. Human hearts were far more terrifying than mutant beasts, so it was better to go it alone.

The only person in that carriage whom she trusted a little was probably Xu Dao. Although she didn't know him well, she felt that Xu Dao was not a bad person by nature.

The group of people entered the school through the collapsed wall of the playground. Bai Xing saw that one of them seemed to slip and was pierced in the calf by the sharp spikes on the guardrail, but it was too far away to see clearly.

The group seemed to have had a brief discussion, and finally the man stood up with a limp and walked with them to the maple tree.

A gust of wind blew, and the leaves rustled.

Bai Xing gradually saw the appearance of their group. There were three men and one woman, but the woman seemed to be their captain. Bai Xing saw the woman draw out a long sword, communicate tactics with her teammates behind her, then roll up her sleeves and shake her wrist. Flames came out from her palms and spread to the sword. The flames did not go out, but continued to burn on the blade.

The maple tree seemed to be slow to sense someone's arrival, and something seemed to be surging under the thick maple leaves on the ground.

The two men behind her took out their weapons, one was a kitchen knife and the other was an axe. They followed the woman and approached the maple tree first.

The woman held the sword with both hands, trying to control the flames to burn only on the sword, then ran quickly to the maple tree trunk and chopped it down with force.

The maple tree was not seriously injured after the cut, but it was completely awakened. The trunk trembled slightly, and the "blood vessels" on the tree were cut a little, and bright red juice flowed out of it. The rustling sound under the maple leaves became louder.

The two men followed the woman's footsteps and came in together, but there were always rustling sounds around them, but there was no rustling sound around the woman. So even though the woman had reached the tree, they were only halfway there. The maple tree had undergone a mutation, and the maple leaves were no longer soft. The edges of the leaves became as sharp as saw blades. As the two men walked along, they were inevitably scratched by the fallen leaves on the ground and the leaves that kept falling from the tree.

The injured man also walked in with a knife. He was indeed injured, and the wound on his leg was simply bandaged. He had just stepped into the area of the maple tree when a black tree root instantly broke through the ground, pierced through the layers of maple leaves and entangled the injured man's leg.

He screamed in horror, and the other three were startled and immediately wanted to come over to help him. At this time, the mutant maple tree quickly extended two roots, tightly wrapped around their legs, and the roots meandered up, wrapped around their limbs, and wrapped them into three black and green silkworm pupae.

The next moment, the three of them were dragged down into the ground.

The woman was furious and immediately went to support the three of them with a knife. The maple leaves rustled and countless leaves fell. The woman kept swinging her knife to chop the maple leaves that kept blocking her view. However, these maple leaves were like pieces of iron and made clanging sounds when they collided with the knife.

The woman's steps forward were constantly hindered, and her body was covered with countless cuts. She felt her limbs becoming numb. She looked down in horror and found that the wounds were gradually turning purple. The maple leaves were actually poisonous!

The leaves gradually decreased and fell. The woman was panting. The flame on the knife began to flicker. After her vision was no longer obstructed, she was horrified to find that her three companions had disappeared. The wind and snow hit the maple tree, making a rustling sound. Her back was soaked with cold sweat. It was very quiet around her. She shouted her companions' names, but no one responded.

She was extremely angry and roared. Flames covered her whole body and burned fiercely. She rushed towards the maple tree. Countless tree roots emerged from the ground, trying to stop her, but they were burned by her flames. She used all her strength to chop it down. The maple tree trembled violently, as if crying out in pain.

A huge wound appeared. The woman cut off three blood vessels as thick as water pipes. Although the wound seemed small compared to the entire huge maple tree, a raging flame burned on the wound.

The woman angrily chopped at the maple tree with her sword. The flames on her body also ignited the maple leaves under the tree. The flames burned more and more fiercely, and the stagnant blood pool under the tree began to boil. The bones that were hidden under countless maple leaves gradually emerged. The maple tree made a "creaking" sound, as if it was a wail of pain. The maple leaves were also curled up into a ball due to the burn, and then made a crisp sound.

At this moment, this huge maple tree was really burning, like purgatory, with black smoke rising straight into the sky. Bai Xing suddenly felt something was wrong, as this would probably attract a lot of people.
