Chapter 155 Lady Wang Kills Baoyu

Within two days, the Jia family's case was resolved. With sufficient witnesses and physical evidence, and a pretext found, no matter how much Yuan Chun pleaded, she could not stop the Jia family from being sentenced to immediate execution on charges of plotting against the imperial heir.

Before Grandmother Jia could even comfort Baoyu in her arms upon hearing the news, she vomited blood and fainted. Lady Wang was even more bewildered, sitting blankly for a while, looking at the dazed Baoyu in the corner, and finally bursting into laughter.

"Hahaha, my son ruined my girl?"

You've ruined my empress!

"I've planned for you my whole life! My whole life!"

"In the end, you ruined everything yourself and even dragged your sister down with you, ughh!"

Lady Wang crawled to Baoyu's side, and without a second thought, grabbed his neck with both hands, yelling, "Incompetent! Incompetent!"

"I gave birth to you, and now I would rather not have had you as my son!"

“Death will end everything, atone for your sister’s sins! Atone for the Jia family’s sins! Hahaha…”

These past few days, Baoyu has been threatened and ridiculed, locked up in this dark and dreary dungeon, living in constant fear. Even his grandmother, who was protecting him, has fainted, leaving him utterly powerless to resist.

Lady Wang was determined to die, so she showed no mercy and soon strangled Baoyu until his pupils began to dilate.

He tried to push Madam Wang away with both hands and feet, but it was of little use.

Tears streamed down her face as she mumbled, "Madam...Madam...Spare me...Spare me..."

What are you still alive for?!

What a burden to your family and parents!

I'm going to strangle you today!

Lady Wang held nothing back, pressing her body down on Baoyu so that he had no chance to resist. Baoyu struggled, resisted, and whimpered, but this did not elicit any pity or relaxation from Lady Wang.

Madam Wang was obsessed, with only one thought in her mind: to strangle this troublemaker!

To the madwoman Wang, Baoyu's slapping and struggling were nothing more than the strength of a tiny ant.

Madam Wang muttered, "Die! All of you die!"

Her hands gripped Baoyu's neck tightly.

Soon his men fell silent. Only when Lady Wang saw Baoyu take his last breath did she cry out in panic.

She...she strangled Baoyu to death?

She killed her own son?!

Bang!

I was hit hard on the back of the head.

Lady Wang turned around in disbelief, only to see that Grandmother Jia, who had just fainted, was holding the only item in the cell, a small, broken table, which was smashed directly onto the back of her head.

Blood dripped in the silent cell. Grandmother Jia threw down the small table she was holding, plopped down on the floor, glanced at Baoyu, and then shoved Lady Wang aside like a madwoman, calling out, "Baoyu? Baoyu?"

After calling out for a long time without getting a response from Baoyu, and with the person in her arms growing colder and colder, Grandmother Jia gently placed her trembling hand on Baoyu's nose.

I watched it three or four times in disbelief before I was sure that Baoyu was really gone!

That's all?

Baoyu was perfectly fine just now.

Why did things suddenly turn bad?

Her precious jade left her first?

How could that be?

She was eighty years old, and her precious baby was only thirteen!

Her Baoyu was destined to be an official, so how could he... how could he...?

"Baoyu! Baoyu!"

Grandmother Jia held Baoyu's body and wept bitterly. Baoyu... her Baoyu...

Her Jia family's future... ahhh!

"Aaaaaah!"

The screams attracted the jailer, who brandished his whip in displeasure; "What are you howling about? Don't you want any peace and quiet?!"

The next second, I was startled by the scene before me. Lady Wang lay motionless in a pool of blood, her eyes wide open, while Grandmother Jia held Baoyu, clutching her chest, her expression one of profound pain.

Just as the jailers were in a panic, Grandmother Jia slowly closed her eyes, and soon collapsed to the ground...

After Yuan Chun suffered a miscarriage in the palace, she was already terrified and had nightmares. Upon hearing the bad news, she cried out and vomited blood. Her health deteriorated day by day. Later, she asked to leave the palace and become a nun to pray for the emperor. The emperor, mindful of her feelings, allowed her to continue her practice while keeping her hair.

From then on, the Rongguo Mansion, which had been glorious for decades, lost its foundation and support, and slowly disappeared from people's memories.

Upon hearing this, Lin Daiyu was stunned for a moment, then had someone prepare simple funeral arrangements for Grandmother Jia, and never inquired about it again.

She lost interest in caring about it, because Shen Ajiao was also sick.

He was lethargic, weak, and uninterested in anything.

"Madam, I received many wonderful things for the New Year, but I haven't shown them to you yet." Lin Daiyu asked someone to bring over all sorts of gifts she had received for the New Year.

He even put the gold items at the front, saying, "Look, this is a little kingfisher made of gold. I heard that the craftsmen even kept a lot of kingfishers at home to make the colors on this bird more realistic. Look, it's all real kingfisher feathers on it."

Shen Ajiao sighed. She liked it very much, but she was too lazy to move right now.

Why didn't you go to school today?

Tears welled in Lin Daiyu's eyes as she turned her back to him. "You're enjoying your leisure time at home, and you expect me to go? What do you mean by that?"

"Hmph, I won't do as you wish!"

Shen Ajiao was amused by Lin Daiyu and laughed heartily. She wanted to go too, but her body wouldn't allow it now.

"Did you ask the tutor for leave?"

Lin Daiyu snorted, "Of course I have invited them."

"You haven't seen what Zhou Shun gave me yet. Do you want to see it?"

Shen Ajiao exclaimed in surprise, "Why didn't you give it to me?"

Lin Daiyu proudly showed off, "Go, bring the things over here."

Bring it over? Could it be a dog?
