Break through the hard
The orange-white mech was held tightly, leaving no gaps, and the red in the optical lens reflected into the blue-green of the other mech. The ambulance's back armor was pressed against the control panel, and its upper body was leaning back as much as possible, with its hands bracing against the panel to prevent the two mechs' visors from touching.
Optimus Prime led the Autobots to the mine, while Ratchet stayed behind at the base. The Autobots' son, who had been abandoned due to the danger, immediately went to find Grimlock in his confinement chamber. Grimlock emerged from the chamber and loudly conspired with the son to go to the mine Optimus Prime had gone to. Guardians Jake and Raffi, seeing they couldn't stop the Autobots from going with him, had no choice but to go along. Ratchet stood guard at the control panel on the land bridge, acting as the Autobots' logistical support, becoming their last line of defense.
But this line of defense was about to crumble. After several rejections, the clueless Steel Fork moved its visor closer again, trying to act like the characters on TV, begging for mercy. The two machines were extremely close; naturally, their chest armors touched. Beneath the chest armor was the ignition chamber, where the vibrant, fluorescent green ignition flickered violently due to intense emotional fluctuations. Ratchet could almost feel the frequency and magnetic pulse of Steel Fork's ignition through the metallic vibrations. Out of the corner of his eye, he saw three humans: the usually composed Raffi and Jack were staring intently in their direction, radiating an excitement that seemed to yearn for the mine. Ratchet suddenly understood: humans and Cybertronians have different physiological structures; they didn't realize how terrible the distance between Steel Fork and him was!
He reached out and tried to push the steel fork outward with his visor, but to no avail, and was on the verge of collapse.
"I will teleport you to the same coordinates as Optimus Prime's starting point. Stay in touch and protect yourselves."
Only then did the steel fork release the ambulance.
"Yay!" "You're the best, ambulance!"
...
Upon entering the green vortex and reaching a certain interface, the Cybertronian aircraft suddenly appeared tens of meters above the center of the spacetime vortex. The humans, having lost their support, plummeted to the ground, but fortunately, they were caught and unharmed.
"What just happened?!" For his mother Darby's sake, Jack rarely participated in dangerous activities, and working with the Autobots was the most adventurous thing he had ever done. Freefalling from a height of about a few meters—about four or five stories—was terrifying for a young man like him.
"Is there a spatial misalignment?" Raffi asked uncertainly, drawing on his knowledge from the ambulance. "The ambulance recently inspected the land bridge, so the coordinates should be correct. Our position is not wrong, but why is the steel fork so far away from us?"
"Why don't we just go back and ask the ambulance?" Shenzi opened her flip phone and took pictures as she walked forward.
This was an underground mine. The Decepticons had used excavators and drills to create tunnels. The mine where Shinji and his friends were located had been hollowed out. Occasionally, fragments of shimmering blue ore would fall from the uneven rock walls. The Decepticon miners disdained these small stones, which could be called slag, but to the small human figures, they were rare and beautiful crystals, the color of the sea under sunlight. Shinji pocketed quite a few ore fragments, intending to take them back as a collection. Raffi told Shinji to put the ore in his backpack so he could look it up later; he also wanted to do some research on the ores. Jack insisted on carrying the backpack containing the ore. Shinji was a girl, and Raffi was a child; he felt he should show some manly spirit and bear the weight of the mine. Fork was somewhat troubled; they had come to mine, but there was no ore around!
"Don't move!"
At the sudden warning, the Goddess and Raffi, who were happily picking stones while squatting down, immediately let go and threw away the stones in their hands. Jack stepped forward and grabbed their wrists, ready to run away at any moment. The steel fork blocked their way, and the wings reflexively and alertly rose up, their eyes fixed on the newcomer. Soon she relaxed; it was her Autobot companion who had come.
Arcee turned the corner, transformed into a hand cannon, and aimed it at the enemy. But the enemy before her was—Gunpowder, Jack, the Divine Child, and Laffey?
"Why are you here?" Amidst the guilty atmosphere, the optical mirror focused on the three people and the camera, and with a thin eyebrow raised high, Arcee questioned.
"Don't move!"
Accompanied by the voice of a Decepticon miner, Optimus Prime's cannonball knocked him unconscious. The Decepticon soldier did not speak again, but this also meant that the Decepticons had discovered the Autobots.
Outnumbered and outgunned, the Autobots knew that continuing the fight would be disadvantageous. The Autobot leader quickly made a decision and contacted the base's internal network. Just as he was about to order the Ratchet to open the land bridge, he was interrupted by Steel Fork: "Are we just going to go back like this? We haven't even collected any energy ore yet!"
"The lives of the Autobots are more important." Optimus Prime replied briefly to Grimlock. The situation was urgent, and he continued to issue orders, "Autobots! Retreat—!"
When Grimfork first joined the Autobot operation, she was told that the Autobots were far outnumbered by the Decepticons, making each Autobot's life extremely precious. If discovered by the Decepticons, she was instructed not to linger and to retreat immediately. Grimfork wasn't worried about her own life; to conserve energy, she usually followed this tactic and retreated with her companions during missions. But at this moment, she didn't want to retreat. Aside from the fact that she wasn't afraid of the numerous Decepticon soldiers, she was unwilling to abandon such a large energy mine—an entire mine!
More and more miners and grunts gathered, blocking the mine shaft. Steel Fork decided to prove they didn't need to retreat. The underground tunnel wasn't large, and the Decepticon grunts coming weren't numerous or fast enough. Almost simultaneously with the Decepticon attack, Steel Fork charged towards the enemy. The shells fired at her seemed to veer off course near her body, instead flying towards the Decepticon grunts. Steel Fork's figure appeared in the ranks of the grunts, following the reverse-fired shells. She forcefully slammed each of their uniform silver head sculptures against the rock wall. Cracks appeared in the rock wall as the heads, containing sophisticated hardware like sensors and brain modules, suffered a sudden, severe impact. The grunts quickly fell unconscious one after another. There were no more active Decepticon soldiers around Steel Fork. She stood in the middle of the "corpses," her wings gently bobbing up and down once.
Then she turned around, her optical glasses seemingly sparkling and glittering as she looked at the cars.
"Wow! Steel Fork, you're amazing!" The goddess clapped her hands, and her two pigtails stood up even more in excitement.
"Thank you, Goddess." Steel Fork tilted her head slightly downwards, half-covering her faceplate, feigning shyness, but the wings behind her wouldn't droop. At the same time, her optical glasses swept across the rocks in front of her, then back to the Autobots, then back to the rocks, then back to the Autobots, or more precisely, Optimus Prime.
Optimus Prime replied that there was no need to open the land bridge immediately after replying to the ambulance, and told his companions to observe the battlefield situation. His two rectangular black metal eyebrows rested relaxed on the upper part of his visor, one on each side. He immediately understood Grimpus's intentions, feeling both helpless and relieved.
"Gunpowder Fork, you did a great job. You fought the Decepticons bravely, and your companions were not harmed."
He then changed the subject: "However, you violated the rules by not only bringing humans into the operation but also leaving the confinement room without permission."
The steel fork's wings drooped involuntarily, and the optical lens was filled with disappointment.
"but……"
Optimus Prime's tone changed again. He paused and successfully saw the optical lens of Grimlock light up again.
"This operation has proven your ability to protect your comrades and your deep reflection. Your confinement period is over ahead of schedule."
...
The Autobots quickly collected enough super-energy ore and pushed the Decepticon minecart, laden with the ore, back to base. The Divine Child and Laffey also collected a considerable amount of ore along the way, including many with pure crystals and excellent appearance. The most beautiful were the pure, translucent light purple crystals, containing within them another type of blue crystal, equally clear as an eye.
"The outer layer is mainly dark super-energy, while the inner layer is super-energy?" The ambulance squinted through his optical glasses, carefully examining the data output by the testing instruments on the display screen. He felt that this ore was unusual. "It is very rare for a mineral to have such high transparency in its natural state, and it is a symbiotic mineral of super-energy and dark super-energy."
The ambulance rejected the son's protest, citing the unclear effects of the super-energy object on human health, and left the ore inside the base for safekeeping.
