"Shockwave, how do you do that?"
...
"Shockwave, the base's light bulb is broken."
...
"Shockwave, the floor is so flat and hard."
...
"Shockwave—"
If the person yelling was a normal person, they would have been extremely impatient long ago. But she was yelling at Shockwave, and the rationality and patience of a researcher were put to good use at this moment. Shockwave's emotions were as stable as Kapibala's, and the huge optical glasses covering his head sculpted head did not allow him to make more expressive faces, which made him appear calm and composed in all situations.
A ticklish sensation came from the wings on his back, but the shockwave only caused a slight movement of the antenna. His gaze remained fixed on the display screen, observing the data, and his calm voice rang out:
"What is it? I don't want you to waste your energy talking about useless things again."
“Your paint job is so beautiful.” Steel Fork wrapped her arms around Shockwave’s waist, her visor lightly brushing against his back. She noticed and began to nibble on the wings in front of her, leaving a trail of electrolyte. “Your wings are so cute too.”
“This doesn’t make sense.” The antennae on either side of the head sculpt began to rotate up and down again, and Shockwave said, “What are you doing?”
"I don't know either, but I think so," Steel Fork muttered, his mouth still holding the edge of the wing. The wing in her mouth trembled slightly, and she couldn't resist. Almost uncontrollably, instinctively, she bit down hard.
The metal on the wing surface cracked, the tiny energy lines broke, and blue energy liquid gushed out from the teeth marks, only to be sucked up by the mouth covering the damaged area. Despite the pain in his wing, Shockwave remained calm. He knew that the steel fork behind him was just playing around and wouldn't do anything outrageous. "Steel fork, repair my back wing, then go check on the giant ferocious beast."
Looking at the teeth marks before her, a strange yet familiar feeling swelled and filled the spark chamber. Steel Fork tightened her arms, her visor pressed tightly against Shockwave's back armor. "I don't want it to disappear. I don't want to see the Great Serpent." Electrolyte continuously secreted from her mouth. Steel Fork's gaze subtly lingered on the area with larger, more numerous energy lines. She swallowed a mouthful of electrolyte and continued:
"I think I might be craving some energy... liquid."
"Shockwave...you smell so good."
As expected of Shockwave, he remained calm and composed: "Complete the task of examining the giant monster, and you will receive a can of liquid energy as a reward."
"What about the dorsal wings?"
"The damage to the dorsal wing is within acceptable limits and does not require priority repair."
With its wings raised high behind it, Steel Fork suddenly became angry: "Your processors are full of Grimaces! They need so much energy and go through so much trouble, why bother cultivating them! And so many experiments have never even produced an energy block, why did we do them!"
"For...science." Shockwave's back wings drooped, and Steel Fork Space had no choice but to release its arms.
"What does this mean?" Steel Fork asked, confused.
Cybertron was desolate and ruined, with decaying buildings and corpses everywhere. The AllSpark, the Autobots, and the Decepticons were all nowhere to be found. The planet had no energy regeneration, and the Cybertronians were scattered throughout the universe. If it weren't for his vast energy reserves, he would never have been able to stay in the base and conduct research safely. Here, there was no energy, no people, no society, no war, only ruins and some frozen soldiers. What else could he do but conduct research?
Shockwave finally turned his gaze from the display screen to the steel fork. His tone remained calm, but with a touch of solemnity: "Because scientific research is what I love. Science may be able to bring this planet back to life."
"Passion" and such are too early for Steel Fork now. She saw Shockwave's back wings, still bearing the marks of teeth, drooping, and the antennas on both sides of the head sculpt hanging horizontally. The magnetic field around him had changed, which seemed to indicate that he was feeling down.
For the first time, Steel Fork felt guilty, and she asked:
Does passion make you feel better?
Shockwave stated bluntly, "Yes."
"Then I love you, and I'll give you my love. Is that okay?"
"Passion cannot be transferred."
Shockwave watched the steel fork silently, without making a move or speaking.
The steel fork ran away helplessly, "I...I'm going to see the giant monster, don't forget my liquid energy!"
...
After quickly modulating the liquid energy, the shockwave decided to go out for a walk to clear its head.
...
Steel Fork was constantly uneasy. Although she didn't understand why Shockwave was so down, she realized it was because of her.
Steel Fork glanced quickly at the dragon-shaped figure in the culture tank, confirming everything was fine, then began to ponder how to comfort Shockwave. She had never encountered this situation before, nor had she ever comforted anyone; it was perfectly logical that she didn't know what to do!
The database provides the answer; the fork determines the practice.
...
She left the incubation room but couldn't find the shockwave in the base. She then left the base to search around and flew high into the sky to look down at the ground.
Upon seeing that purple spot, Steel Fork swooped down and gave Shockwave a huge hug, while also using its superpower to extract the embers of the flying Iron-Eating Insects and arrange them into a simple five-petaled flower in the air.
The tank's weight prevented Shockwave from being knocked away, but even so, he almost fell over the moment Steel Fork grabbed him. He quickly stabilized himself, noticed the simple line drawing of energy in the air, and asked, "Steel Fork, explain your actions."
"This is a hug. The information says it can improve your mood!" The flower in the air approached the optical lens of the shockwave to make sure he could see it. Steel Fork continued to explain, "This is energy and a flower. A few iron-eating insects happened to fly by, so I made this. Energy can improve your mood, and flowers can improve your mood too."
Then she quietly and carefully observed the other party's reaction. The light from a pair of red optical mirrors shone into a huge optical mirror, and the mask reflected the red light from the other party's optical mirrors.
Do you feel better now?
Shockwave removed the steel fork from her body, allowing her to stand on the ground, and said to her, "Strictly speaking, I'm not in a bad mood. But I must admit, another Cybertronian does indeed improve my processor efficiency."
"Whether it's good or bad, explain yourself clearly!"
"You should have your own judgment."
"The magnetic field is positive, so your mood has improved!"
"Make your own judgment."
Steel Fork decided to stop obsessing over this pointless debate. She crossed her arms, squinted through her glasses, and asked, "What are you doing outside the base? I've been looking for you for ages."
The weather was fine this period, allowing the brilliant starry sky to be revealed, its starlight adding brightness to the planet's surface. Shockwave looked up at the stars and said, "The Cybertronians are scattered throughout the universe..."
Steel Fork followed his gaze and looked up at the sky. White ink splattered against the black background of the universe, adding a touch of color. Each celestial body shimmered with its unique brilliance.
"A single point of light could be a Cybertronian exiled."
How many of them are there exactly?
Shockwave turned to observe the steel fork's reaction: "Since they are of the same kind, why are they referred to as 'them'?"
“That giant monster is one of my kind, but I don’t want to acknowledge it.” Steel Fork snorted and continued, “I don’t consider those Cybertronians I’ve never met to be my kind either. I only acknowledge you.”
"Your statement is illogical. 'Same kind' is just an academic term; 'relationship' is a more appropriate description."
After thinking for a moment, Steel Fork said, "Then... I'll only acknowledge you as my friend? My partner?"
Shockwave, unusually inclined to tease others, said, "No, we are in a superior-subordinate relationship. You should acknowledge me as your servant."
"Superior and subordinate? I don't like that term." Steel Fork frowned, her processor spinning at high speed, trying to refute the shockwave, but she failed: "You give me energy cubes, and I'm working for you; that seems to fit the master-servant definition. I'll reluctantly admit I'm a servant!"
Poor Steel Fork, having grown up outside of society, couldn't understand many things even if he knew them, and was manipulated by the cunning Shockwave, who still foolishly cared about him.
Steel Fork spread its arms and wrapped them around Shockwave's waist. The head sculpt leaned against the thick breastplate and asked, "Feeling better now? If not, give me another hug!"
In the vast starry sky, on a desolate planet, amidst a dilapidated building, a blazing flame clings tightly to him. Warmth emanates from the point of contact between their bodies, and shockwaves gently encircle the steel fork's body before releasing it.
"We're returning to base."
"Actually, you can wander around outside for a while longer. I'll stay with you; there's absolutely no danger!"
Shockwave pointed to the simple flower pattern in the air made up of energy and sparks from the Iron Eater's body: "We need to refine these into energy cubes. I've said before that Cybertronians eat energy cubes."
