11 Rainy Night
◎ "My dear, where are you?"◎
After dinner, Jiang Suiyun put the dishes in the dishwasher.
She stood up and looked through the window. The sky outside was abnormally dark, and the clouds in the distance were very low, as if a storm was about to come.
Sure enough, not long after, rain began to fall on the glass.
At first there were only sporadic raindrops, but in a moment, the rain became heavier and a muffled thunder rolled across the sky, making the glass buzz.
The rain is getting heavier.
The strong wind carried raindrops, which hit the floor-to-ceiling windows. The rain meandered down the glass, and the outside world was distorted into blurred blocks of color.
Jiang Suiyun muttered softly: "This damn weather..."
It was sunny in the morning.
The cold white lights in the villa contrasted with the gray decoration. Under the influence of the heavy rain, it looked gloomy and cold, and inexplicably scary.
It wasn't at all as cozy as her old house.
Jiang Suiyun went upstairs a little faster, and his slippers made a clattering sound on the marble steps.
He Chifeng arranged her in the guest room on the far right.
His own room was on the far left opposite.
The two are tens of thousands of miles apart.
Jiang Suiyun was speechless. If someone didn't know, they would think he was guarding against some kind of disaster.
She curled her lips, but her eyes were unconsciously attracted by the warm yellow light coming from the study.
I feel a little relieved.
Huh, there is still a breath of life.
Returning to her room, she began to tidy it up.
She had packed in such a hurry before that things were a bit messy. Now she opened the box and laid out the hand-inlaid crafts she had brought out one by one on the dressing table, sorting them into different categories.
Among them was a butterfly brooch inlaid with diamonds. She only had time to make half of it, and half of the wing was not completed.
She dug out a complete set of carefully wrapped jewelry tools from her suitcase.
Remove and set aside.
Planning to wrap it up tonight.
The phone beeped twice.
She opened it and found that the friend request she sent in the morning was approved.
In fact, before Shen Lan told her about this, she had been paying attention to the studio team built by Teacher Wen.
When Wen Yin approached her two years ago, the studio was just starting out. Two years later, the studio has become extremely famous both domestically and internationally, and has even appeared frequently in interviews with Vogue Jewelry.
However, she had made no progress in the past two years, which made Jiang Suiyun feel a little uneasy.
However, Teacher Wen's performance on the other end surprised her.
She seemed glad she had found her.
Wen Yin sent a message: "Xiao Jiang, I've always admired your design style. I originally wanted to ask if you'd be willing to participate in a charity jewelry exhibition I'm hosting. As for the studio's recruitment of designers, if you have time, let's meet in the next couple of days."
Jiang Suiyun didn't expect it to go so smoothly. It wasn't until a muffled thunderclap exploded outside that she woke up and replied, "Thank you, Teacher Wen. I will be there on time."
After putting down her phone, she still felt something was unreal, and the corners of her mouth rose unconsciously.
When she picked up the unfinished butterfly wings in her hand again, the tip of the tweezers just touched the metal bracket -
Suddenly, there was a crisp clicking sound outside, followed by the sound of something falling.
Jiang Suiyun was startled and the butterfly wings in his hand accidentally fell to the ground.
"Snap."
The next second, the whole room suddenly fell into darkness.
There is a power outage.
A blinding flash of lightning illuminated the window, giving off a chilling feeling like a rainy night. Jiang Suiyun quickly turned on the flashlight on his cell phone to illuminate the area.
She was almost done, but her hand shook and the thing fell to the ground. She searched for it for a long time but couldn't find it. She didn't know where it fell into.
God knows how much torture this is for a person with obsessive-compulsive disorder.
Jiang Suiyun groped his way to the study room with the help of the light from his cell phone.
When I pushed open the study door, He Chifeng was closing his laptop with a cold face. The blue light of the screen reflected on his sharp outline, making him look particularly inhuman.
"Um..." Jiang Suiyun scratched the door frame, his nails unconsciously scratching the wood grain, "Do you have a toolbox at home?"
He Chifeng raised his eyelids and said in a cold and hard voice: "What are you going to do?"
"Fix the electricity." She waved the tweezers in her hand. "I can't just sit there and wait, can I?"
He Chifeng stared at the tool in her hand. It looked like a mini version of an ordinary tool, probably used for handicrafts. He frowned slightly and asked, "Can you repair circuits?"
Jiang Suiyun felt that he was being a bit contemptuous. She knew many things. "When I was making jewelry, I often had to do micro-soldering. I would fix burnt circuit boards myself." She paused and added, "Don't worry, it won't explode."
He Chifeng said nothing. He stood up, dug out a toolbox from the bottom of the bookcase, and threw it to her: "Don't burn down my house."
Jiang Suiyun took the toolbox and first checked the distribution box in the house. There was no circuit breaker.
In other words, the problem is outside.
She suddenly remembered the clicking sound she had just heard.
After a moment's hesitation, he asked, "Aside from those ornamental trees, are there any other trees in the yard? There might be a short circuit in the external wiring."
He Chifeng frowned: "There is also an old sycamore tree."
"Is the circuit box there too?"
"Um."
Jiang Suiyun guessed that the crisp sound just now was most likely the sound of a branch breaking, and then hitting the electrical box below.
The rain had come and gone with great force, but was now much lighter.
There was just a lot of water in the yard.
The two of them went out with umbrellas and saw that the ground was full of fallen branches. The largest branch had hit the circuit box directly.
The box was damaged, but the main circuit looked okay. Jiang Suiyun used tools to open the circuit box.
"The main circuit breaker was loose, and one of the wires scraped a little and shorted it out."
"Use the insulation glue as a temporary solution and replace it when the rain stops."
Jiang Suiyun took out the insulating tape and began to wrap the damaged wires, then re-fixed the circuit breaker.
He Chifeng held an umbrella, the rain trickling down the ribs onto his shoulders. The cold light of the flashlight shone through Jiang Suiyun's teeth. He Chifeng couldn't help but stare at the side of her face as she bit the flashlight, watching her expertly fiddling with the circuitry. He raised an eyebrow. This woman actually knew how to fix things? That surprised him.
Jiang Suiyun suddenly screamed "Ah" as his finger was accidentally pierced by a splinter.
He Chifeng grabbed her wrist almost as a reflex, with such force that it hurt her: "Don't touch me!"
Small drops of blood slowly seeped out of the fingertips. Jiang Suiyun was stunned and looked up at him.
The distance between them suddenly shortened, and He Chifeng's breath almost hit her forehead. Her hand was still held by him, and the place where their palms touched was inexplicably hot.
Jiang Suiyun suddenly retreated, and her back was immediately soaked by the slanting rain. The cold rain made her shiver, and she instinctively lunged forward, her nose almost hitting He Chifeng's heaving chest.
Then he said dissatisfiedly: "Why are you reacting so strongly? You scared me to death."
He Chifeng seemed to realize that something was wrong and immediately let go of her, his tone returning to a cold tone: "...If you can't fix it, don't try to be so arrogant."
But when he saw the wet spot behind her, he unconsciously moved the umbrella away.
Jiang Suiyun curled his lips and said "Oh", too lazy to pay attention.
A few seconds later, the switch clicked softly, and the lights in the entire villa suddenly lit up.
Jiang Suiyun clapped his hands proudly: "Done!"
He Chifeng looked at her sparkling eyes, snorted softly, and finally said: "...You are still useful."
On the way back, there was still enough space between them for one more person, until a gust of wind blew the umbrella over. He Chifeng, with a gloomy face, grabbed Jiang Suiyun's wrist and pulled her into his arms: "If you want to get wet in the rain, don't drag me along."
Jiang Suiyun was speechless. An umbrella could not protect two people, not to mention that their clothes were already wet. It was useless to get close. She wanted to shake off the burning hand on her wrist, but that hand was like an iron clamp, holding her tightly.
The rain fell along the clasped hands of the two.
The floor was wet.
The moment the lights came on, He Chifeng suddenly let go and took a half step back as if he was scalded.
Summer clothes are thin to begin with, and the back of Jiang Suiyun's white top was completely wet, sticking to her skin. The lace straps of her underwear were clearly visible, and even the curve of her waist was exposed.
Jiang Suiyun realized it later and felt a chill on his back.
A towel was thrown over his head.
He Chifeng just took a glance and then looked away with a cold face.
Jiang Suiyun peeked through the gap in the towel and found that his condition was not much better. The black shirt soaked by the rain was translucent and stuck to his body. The outline of his shoulder blades was clearly visible as he breathed, and the grooves of his waist and abdominal muscles were clearly visible under the water marks.
A drop of water rolled down his jaw, passed through his rolling Adam's apple, and dripped onto his chest muscles.
So big.
So astringent.
I don't know about other places...
The moment this thought came to mind, He Chifeng suddenly turned his head and accurately caught her gaze before she could look away: "Have you seen enough?"
The humid heat hit me in the face.
Jiang Suiyun suddenly came back to his senses and realized that his thoughts were out of control.
Male beauty can mislead people, and this is what a big sex addict is like.
He Chifeng looked at her slightly flushed cheeks and could tell she had evil intentions. He sneered, "You'd better be honest. Don't think I don't know what you're thinking."
Their eyes met, and the distance between them was shortened.
Jiang Suiyun felt his face burning.
She looked away guiltily.
At the same time, the phone rang suddenly.
Break this weird atmosphere.
Jiang Suiyun ran over and answered the phone.
"Hello?"
There was silence on the other end of the phone. Apart from the slight noise of electricity, there was only... very light breathing.
"Hello?"
Still no one answered.
Jiang Suiyun subconsciously looked at the notes to confirm, and his heart suddenly accelerated.
——He Linchuan.
"!" Her fingers froze.
He Chifeng keenly noticed something was wrong: "Who?"
The sound is neither loud nor soft.
Jiang Suiyun's heart skipped a beat and he subconsciously covered the microphone, but it was too late.
On the other end, He Linchuan finally spoke. His tone was still gentle, even elegant, and he enunciated very slowly, but the chill that seeped through his words made the hairs on the back of Jiang Suiyun's neck stand up instantly.
A muffled thunder exploded outside the window, intensifying the atmosphere to the extreme: "My dear, where are you?"
Jiang Suiyun felt a tightness in his heart when he heard this name.
She could feel that the man was very angry.
He suddenly laughed again, his voice low and terrifying: "Let me guess, who is next to you?"
Hearing this, Jiang Suiyun couldn't help but hold his breath.
