Chapter 52 Explosions in the Mountains
A large number of birds suddenly flew out of the woods, screaming and flapping their wings, and fled to other places.
The next moment, several towering trees suddenly fell down, startling more birds.
Being too far away, Su Heng had no way of knowing what exactly had happened.
Even if there were large beasts in the mountains, it would be impossible for them to hit such a big tree.
The fish were almost caught, so Su Heng made a wicker basket and put it in it, ready to try to find a way up.
The waterfall was surrounded by cliffs. She searched everywhere but to no avail. Finally, she went around to the top of a slightly higher mountain on the other side to observe it.
The waterfall rises layer by layer, looking really majestic and spectacular.
But it is not easy to climb over this mountain. You have to climb up from the foot of the mountain on the other side.
Seeing this, Su Heng stopped and hesitated, wondering whether to go back and unload the things before coming back.
The next moment, with a loud "boom", a huge explosion echoed through the mountains and forests, and was pushed here by the wind.
Su Heng immediately stopped hesitating.
Even though curiosity was still driving her to try it out, it seemed that there was truth on the other side!
The mountain opposite seemed to shake. Su Heng didn't know whether it was a homemade cannon or a real bomb.
She was not a military fan and did not understand this. Even in the end of the world in her previous life, she had not been able to get guns and ammunition to satisfy her craving.
The Wood element is not good at fighting, and is even weaker in the early stages, so it can only hide in the official base.
Therefore, I don’t understand these things and don’t know what kind of ammunition has this power.
Why would we go into the mountains to blow them up? We don't need this thing for hunting.
More trees fell on the opposite mountain, and there seemed to be faint sounds of animals wailing, but it was not very clear.
Su Heng held down her pounding heart. Her ability was only at level three. Even if it was almost level four, she still couldn't stop bullets, let alone explosives.
She is not the kind of person who seeks death.
In the deep mountains, the probability of betting that the other person is a good person is too low.
It would be more reliable to go back and report to the police.
Su Heng hurried down the mountain and returned home. She sat in the yard, still thinking about what had just happened, a little dazed.
Seeing this, Lu Mingchuan came over to help her carry the basket to the pond to process the fish. The small fish also needed to be scaled and have their gills pinched.
He sat on the raised stool Su Heng had specially prepared for him, and while scraping the fish's gills, he asked, "What happened? Did your soul get lost in the mountains?"
"You've lost your soul!"
Su Heng turned to look at him: "You don't know what I encountered today!"
"What happened?" Lu Mingchuan asked.
"I heard an explosion in the mountains. Even the mountains were shaking..."
Su Heng recounted everything she had seen in the mountains, and at the end she asked, "What do you think they were doing with such a loud noise?"
Lu Mingchuan's heart trembled when she said she heard the explosion. He stopped what he was doing and looked at her. He was relieved when he saw that she didn't look injured.
"Whatever it is, you did the right thing. It's too dangerous. Don't rush to check it out, and don't go there again."
Su Heng is an ordinary person. If there is anything wrong, there will be professionals to check it out.
Lu Mingchuan thought about it, but still said, "I'll go to the city and tell the police."
"I'll go. It's quick too, riding a bike."
Su Heng felt that it would be fine for her to go. Although she could carry Lu Mingchuan, she couldn't run such a long distance to the city.
Lu Mingchuan thought for a moment before saying:
"That's fine. Then tell them my name when you go. I know the police in the city. This matter might not be that simple. They might take it seriously after hearing about it."
He was injured and was sent back by his comrades. He specifically greeted the city police and they knew him.
Su Heng nodded: "Okay."
But no matter how urgent it was, he had to eat first. It was already past noon, and Su Heng was starving.
When she saw the backpack beside her, she remembered that the rabbit had not been released yet and the herbs needed to be planted.
Su Heng grabbed a few little rabbits and gave them to Lu Mingchuan: "Oh, look what this is!"
Lu Mingchuan saw the rabbit nest and his eyes flashed with surprise: "Did you find the rabbit nest?"
Su Heng nodded: "Of course! This stupid rabbit led me to its lair, and I killed his wife and children in one fell swoop."
She laughed wildly as she spoke. Lu Mingchuan raised his eyebrows and praised, "Great."
"It's okay."
However, rabbits can dig holes and need to be kept in cages. I don’t have a cage at home yet, so I can only make do with building a fence with bricks.
"Can you weave a cage?"
"It's not difficult, you can try it."
Then this matter was handed over to Lu Mingchuan, and he was told to plant the herbs in the yard in the afternoon. Only then did Su Heng go into the house to cook.
A plate of crispy fish and a dish of shredded potatoes were fried and the meal was ready soon.
All the fish she caught today died, so she had to fry them all, and she could release any that she couldn't finish.
I didn’t forget to put two in the bowl for the kitten, and the little lucky one ate without even raising his head.
After dinner, Su Heng didn’t even take a nap. He put on a straw hat and rode his bike out.
The sun was a bit strong in the afternoon, but luckily there was some breeze along the way. She had no cargo on board, so she rode much faster than the last time she came back.
We arrived in the city in less than an hour and went straight to the police station.
As soon as she entered, a young male police officer greeted her: "Comrade, what can I do for you?"
Su Heng took a breath before telling what had happened to him.
When she said she heard an explosion in the mountains, several other police officers from the station immediately surrounded her.
"You mean, the explosion was so strong that even the mountains were shaking?" asked the male police officer.
Su Heng nodded affirmatively: "Do you know Lu Mingchuan? He said he thought it was unusual and asked me to come to you."
"Comrade Lu? So it was Comrade Lu who sent you here. This matter is probably really not simple. I need to report it to my superiors."
The police officer's surname was Xu. As he spoke, he went to contact his superiors.
The police station was not aware of any recent missions in the nearby mountains, so it was definitely not an official matter.
International relations are tense now, and we must take every little sign of trouble seriously.
But Su Heng didn't expect it to be taken so seriously. After a while, she saw a Santana parked in front of the police station.
This is a sedan from the 1970s, and it's obviously a leader's car.
Several people got out of the car. The middle-aged man in the lead was called Secretary Zou by Su Heng.
There were two other leaders following them. They had just finished a meeting and rushed over together after hearing about this.
Several people got out of the car and walked into the hall, their eyes locked on Su Heng.
Secretary Zou asked kindly, "Young comrade, did you discover the explosion?"
