Chapter 25: Is the mouth poisonous? Do you want to try it?

Chapter 25: Is the mouth poisonous? Do you want to try it?

Just as Su Heng was about to pay the bill, she passed by a pile of broken clay pots and suddenly caught sight of a small cracked porcelain cup.

The cup was placed in a wooden box. It was covered with dust and its original color could not be seen. At first glance, it looked broken and a bit ugly.

But after Su Heng picked it up and wiped off a little dust, he found that it was not broken at all, but cracked.

She wiped off the dust on the cup, revealing the original green wall of the cup. The texture felt like warm jade. The glaze layer looked thicker, with fine cracks on it.

The color was very beautiful, and Su Heng remembered the lyrics of later generations: The sky is blue and waiting for the rain.

She was only half-baked at judging porcelain, but she could confirm that the cup was made with exquisite craftsmanship.

It's a shame to let such things end up in the trash. Even if they are not antiques, it would be nice to wash them and use them yourself.

When I opened the box, there were six of them piled inside. They should be a set. They were all covered in dust, but fortunately they were not broken.

But there was no teapot. Su Heng searched around for a long time but to no avail.

Looking back, I saw the big yellow dog in the yard scratching something with its paws, making a clanging sound.

Judging from the crisp sound and shape, it must be the teapot.

Su Heng hurried over to snatch the food from the dog's mouth and rescue the teapot.

The dog was not aggressive and stuck out its tongue at Su Heng in a flattering manner. The dog had a sharp nose and probably smelled the meat in her bag.

There was no point in smelling it, because this was the meat she had been craving for a long time.

Su Heng picked up the teapot and put it into the box, then took the box and a pile of books to check out.

When the old man saw her picking up a pile of junk, he just glanced at it casually.

Without weighing it, he casually said, "This pot is broken. Why would you take it back? I'll give you 15 cents for it."

Su Heng looked honest, took out three cents and handed it to the old man, saying, "I'll go back and see if I can still fill it with water. We're short of a set of teapots at home."

The old man took the money and grinned: "You little girl, you are quite good at managing the household. You come to the garbage dump to pick up junk."

Upon hearing this, Su Heng smiled but said nothing. She just quietly took the treasure she had found and left.

When the big yellow dog saw Su Heng leaving, it followed behind and hummed softly. Su Heng looked back and felt both amused and helpless.

Forget it, at least I took its toy, so I took out a piece of egg cake from my bag and threw it to it.

The dog jumped up very swiftly, grabbed the food in its mouth, and swallowed it in a few gulps. The look in its eyes when it looked at Su Heng was much clearer.

"Eat my food, and from now on, baby, keep an eye on me. Do you hear me?"

The big yellow dog kept humming, as if in response.

Seeing that it was getting late, Su Heng hurried to the designated intersection. Sun Datou was already waiting there, and if he was any later he would probably have left.

Most of the people who came in the morning were already in the car. Su Heng breathed a sigh of relief, at least she made it.

She thanked Sun Datou and climbed into the car, leaving only the back seat.

Su Heng could only hold her backpack carefully, fearing that the porcelain would not be broken by the dog but would be shattered by the tractor.

We had a bumpy ride back to the village, and when I got off the car I felt like my butt was about to be broken into four pieces.

It was already past noon, and everyone on the bus was rushing home to eat. The bun Su Heng had eaten was very filling, so she wasn't hungry.

When I walked back home, the workers were resting under a tree after dinner, fanning themselves with palm-leaf fans and chatting. When they saw Su Heng, they smiled and greeted her.

Su Heng was concerned about how they had lunch, mainly because she was worried that Lu Mingchuan's dark cuisine would upset their stomachs.

As she was speaking, she suddenly felt a chill on her back. Turning around, she saw the man standing behind her.

Lu Mingchuan looked at her with a half-smile and said coldly, "You'll know how it tastes after you try it. I've left some rice in the pot for you."

"Haha... Really? But I'm not really that hungry... Let's just forget it."

"I saved this especially for you. It would be a waste if you don't eat it."

It is shameful to waste food. Su Heng walked into the kitchen with a fearless attitude and lifted the lid of the pot.

It was a bit surprising that there was indeed a bowl of rice and a bowl of steamed egg on the steamer.

Steamed eggs are simple to make and look really good.

But the bowl of egg custard was untouched. Was it made specially for her?

Su Heng looked up at Lu Mingchuan, and seeing that his face still showed no expression as usual, she waved for him to come over.

Lu Mingchuan just felt that she was attracting the dog, but he still walked over slowly.

"Don't worry, it's not poisonous."

"That's not what I'm talking about," Su Heng leaned over and whispered, "I brought some vegetables and meat buns made by the chef at the state-owned restaurant. We'll eat them secretly tonight."

I felt a soft touch on my shoulder, and when I suddenly got closer, I could smell the fragrance of her hair.

Lu Mingchuan was stunned for a moment, then he curled his lips in amusement at her thieving look.

Puzzled, he asked, "Why do you have to do it secretly? Isn't this our home?"

"Yes."

The workers live far away and finish work early in the afternoon, so they won't eat here.

Su Heng reacted, but seeing Lu Mingchuan giving her special treatment just now somehow reminded her of the apocalypse.

If I find food, I always have to hide it secretly and find a safe place before I dare to eat it...

Shaking her head and getting rid of those bad memories, Su Heng picked up the bowl and tasted the steamed egg made by Lu Mingchuan.

How should I put it, maybe some people just don’t have a talent for cooking. It’s edible, but it’s a little overcooked and bland due to steaming.

"How about it?"

Although Lu Mingchuan's tone was calm and his expression was indifferent, it seemed as if he was just asking casually.

But Su Heng still noticed the concern in his eyes, so she said: "Not bad, you can become a master after learning more from me."

Even if you don't have talent, it's still worth encouraging. At least you're not ruined and you've made some progress.

Lu Mingchuan breathed a sigh of relief without leaving any trace, but he still said stubbornly, "That's good, it seems that the poison won't kill you."

Su Heng snorted and decided not to bother with him.

After dinner, Su Heng took out the lunch box and placed it on the long table in the kitchen, and put the biscuits in the cabinet in the main room.

There are still two packets of fried dough twists left uneaten, although they are a mixture of sugar and oil that can be kept for a while.

But now that summer has arrived and the weather is getting warmer, it is better to eat it as soon as possible.

I never thought that there would be a day when she would have more snacks than she could finish. Su Heng thought about it and laughed to herself.

Lu Mingchuan came in and said, "What are you laughing at? Are you really poisoned?"

Su Heng was annoyed: "Shut up now, your mouth is more poisonous than anyone else's!"

She snorted, then said, "See? This cabinet is full of snacks. Eat them quickly before they go bad."

Lu Mingchuan noticed her pride and nodded, saying, "You have to finish it quickly. If it goes bad, you'll get poisoned."

"Lu Mingchuan, have you ever licked your mouth? Probably not, otherwise you would be poisoned by now!"

After Su Heng finished speaking, he felt that he had won the game back, and he smiled triumphantly.

Unexpectedly, Lu Mingchuan said, "Do you want to try it?"

Taste...taste what?

Su Heng’s brain crashed. Lu Mingchuan... must be possessed by a ghost!
