Chapter 116 Return to the Red Flag Brigade

After hearing her words, Yun Yan guessed that she wanted to be a middleman, so she said, "I brought a lot of things from Hai City this time. Do you want them all?"

The woman thought for a moment and said, "I may not have enough money to take everything, but I can take six watches, five pairs of leather shoes, three electric fans, and two radios."

After returning home, she calculated her family's savings and decided that buying the items she mentioned should be possible. She could take them to her workplace and sell them to her colleagues, making a few hundred yuan in the process.

After hearing the quantity she wanted, Yun Yan readily agreed. The prices of all the goods were a few dollars cheaper than when they were sold to her. Naturally, the more you buy, the cheaper it is!

Soon Yunyan brought what she wanted, and the woman gave her the money without hesitation.

Yunyan went to the black market a few more times and sold all her watches and leather shoes, leaving behind a few scarves and hats. She also had a few electric fans and radios left, which Yunyan had left behind on purpose.

In the evening at the guesthouse, Yun Yan began to calculate her profits. Unexpectedly, she made more than two thousand yuan in just a few days!

The next day, Yunyan went to where Uncle Wang parked his ox cart, and unexpectedly ran into him.

"Uncle Wang!" Yun Yan walked over and greeted him.

"Yun Zhiqing? It's really you!" Uncle Wang was also very happy to see Yun Yan.

He didn't expect to see Yun Yan again. You know, none of the educated youth who left the Red Flag Brigade would return to it.

"Yun Zhiqing, why are you here? I haven't seen you for two years. You are getting more and more beautiful!" said Aunt Zhang.

"School is on vacation, so I came back to see you." Yun Yan said.

Uncle Wang saw that she was carrying a lot of things and quickly helped her put them on the ox cart. Soon, most of the people had arrived and Uncle Wang drove the ox cart back to the Red Flag Brigade.

"Yun Zhiqing, you went to Guangshi to study at university. How is the development in Guangshi?" asked an aunt.

"The development in Guangzhou is much faster than here now. Many things don't require tickets anymore." Yun Yan said.

"Really? Is the development in Guangzhou so fast?" asked an old lady.

"Of course. Look at these electric fans and radios I brought with me. I bought them in Guangzhou. Now I don't need tickets!" Yun Yan said.

"It's great that electric fans and radios in Guangshi don't require tickets anymore. In our county, not only do we need industrial tickets, but we may not even be able to buy them," said the scorer.

"Yun Zhiqing, you brought back so many electric fans and radios. Are you planning to sell them to us?" she continued.

"Yes, I specially kept a few of them just to see if anyone in the team wants them. If you want them, I can sell them to you at the original price!" Yun Yan said.

She kept these electric fans and radios specifically to sell to the villagers, and it didn't matter whether she made money or not.

"Then I want an electric fan and a radio. How much are they in total?" asked the scorer.

"This electric fan is 145, and the radio is 130!" Yun Yan said.

"So cheap? Last time I went to the department store in the county town, an electric fan cost 180 yuan, and a radio cost more than 150 yuan! You need an industrial ticket to buy them." The scorer said in disbelief.

"I bought it at the place of origin, so the price is cheaper and there is no shipping fee. I also don't have to pay for labor costs, so of course it is cheaper." Yun Yan said.

After hearing her words, the scorekeeper nodded in sudden realization and said, "So that's how it is!"

An hour and a half later, they arrived at the Hongqi Brigade. Yun Yan first went to the brigade office to say hello to the brigade leader and others.

"Yun Zhiqing? It's really you. Why are you back?" The captain looked at Yun Yan in disbelief.

Several other village cadres also came over and surrounded Yun Yan. They didn’t expect to see Yun Yan again.

"I'm on vacation and came back to see everyone!" Yun Yan said.

After greeting them, Yun Yan left them a specialty of Hai City and went to find Xinyi.

"Sister Yunyan, why are you here?" Xinyi was surprised and happy to see Yunyan!

"I came back to see you! After not seeing you for two years, Xinyi has grown into a big girl. She has grown taller and become more beautiful." Yun Yan looked at her and said with a smile.

Yunyan then gave her the review materials she had brought, along with two pieces of cloth and a pair of leather shoes she had bought in Hai City. Knowing that she was returning to the Red Flag Brigade, Yang Qian asked her to bring Xinyi two skirts and some Guangzhou specialties.

Xinyi was so moved by these things that she cried. Apart from Yunyan and Yang Qian, no one else in the world was so kind to her.

"Sister Yunyan, how many days can you stay this time?" Xinyi asked after wiping away her tears.

"Two days, I'm leaving the day after tomorrow! Xinyi, it's still early before school starts, do you want to go to Guangzhou with me to play for two days?" Yun Yan asked.

"No need, Sister Yunyan. I will go to Guangzhou to see you and Sister Yang Qian after I get admitted to university next year!" Xinyi said.

Then the two chatted for a while. Xinyi's grades are very good now. She can score above 90 points in each subject. With her grades, if she performs steadily in the college entrance examination, it will not be difficult for her to be admitted to a prestigious university. If she performs exceptionally well, she may be admitted to Peking University.

As the two of them were talking, Hu Zi heard his grandmother say that Yun Yan had returned, and hurried to Xin Yi's house to find her.

"Sister Yun, you're back!" Hu Zi said happily.

Following behind him were Shitou, Tiezhu, Niudan and Xiaodong.

Yunyan took out the stationery she had brought for them and gave each of them a copy.

Hu Zi and the others took the stationery that Yun Yan had given them and thanked her happily. Hu Zi said, "Sister Yun, my grandpa and grandma asked me to invite you to my house for dinner."

Yunyan did not refuse and followed Huzi to the captain's house.

Walking on the road, Yun Yan saw that almost every household in the village lived in a brick and tile house. It seemed that the villagers of Hongqi Brigade were living better and better.

After having dinner at the captain's house, Yunyan returned to Xinyi's house. After a while, some villagers came to Yunyan and said they wanted to buy an electric fan and a radio. Yunyan took out the items and let them choose.

Soon, the electric fans and radios Yunyan brought were sold out by the villagers. Those who arrived late and missed out asked Yunyan if she could get another batch of goods. Yunyan smiled and said that there were no more, so they had to go back.

Before leaving the Red Flag Brigade, Yunyan went to Wang Fang's house. When Wang Fang saw Yunyan, she enthusiastically took her into her home.

Yun Yan saw that she had a lot of chickens and ducks in her backyard and asked curiously, "Are you not going to take care of the chickens and ducks anymore?"

"Never mind. Just don't make a fuss about it. No one will care how many cats you raise!" Wang Fang said with a smile.

"Doesn't this mean that our country is becoming more and more open-minded? Wang Fang, don't you plan to do some business?" Yun Yan asked.

"My husband and I have no experience in business and don't know what kind of business to start!" Wang Fang said helplessly.

She also wants to make more money, but she just can't find a way!
