Two years after the resumption of the college entrance examination, Jing County finally had a student who was admitted to Peking University. Of course, the county must publicize such a thing!
The county magistrate came with reporters from the newspaper, took a few photos with Xinyi, and gave her a scholarship on behalf of the county before leaving the Red Flag Brigade.
After they left, the team leader was grinning from ear to ear while holding Xinyi's admission letter. Their Red Flag Team was finally able to hold their heads high.
"Pandi, you really bring honor to our Red Flag Brigade!" said the deputy brigade leader.
"Deputy Captain, don't call me Pan Di anymore. I changed my name a long time ago! My name is now Xinyi, Liu Xinyi." Xinyi said in a firm tone.
"Yes, yes, yes! Look at me, I'm so happy that I'm dizzy." said the deputy captain.
"Xinyi, this is the reward from the brigade. You must continue to work hard when you arrive in Beijing. Our Red Flag Brigade will rely on you to win glory in the future!" The brigade leader handed an envelope to Xinyi and said kindly.
Xinyi took the envelope and said, "Thank you, Captain. No matter where I go in the future, I will never forget that my roots are in the Red Flag Brigade!"
"I knew you were not a child who forgot his roots." The captain said with relief.
"Captain, please give me the letter of introduction and certificate now. I plan to go to Beijing tomorrow." Xinyi said.
"Why are you in such a hurry? It's only the beginning of August. Shouldn't school start early?" asked the team leader.
"I want to visit Beijing in advance, and if I go at the end of the month the train might be very crowded, so it would be better to go early," Xinyi explained.
"What you said makes sense. Then come to the brigade office to get it later!" said the brigade leader.
The next morning, Xinyi took Uncle Wang's ox cart and left the Hongqi Brigade with her luggage. The brigade leader originally said he would take her there on a tractor, but Xinyi refused.
After arriving in the county town, Xinyi went to the guesthouse to find Yunyan, but she didn't expect that Yunyan had already checked out and was waiting for her at the door.
"Xinyi, have you packed all your things?" Yun Yan asked.
"Sister Yunyan, I have packed all my things! As for the one acre and four mu of land allocated to me, I will continue to rent it to the team leader's family for farming." Xinyi said.
After hearing Xinyi say that everything had been dealt with, Yunyan took her to the station and bought two tickets to Southern Province.
It was Xinyi's first time riding in a car, and perhaps because she wasn't used to it, she became carsick soon after getting on. Yunyan gave her two mints to suck on, and she felt a little better!
After arriving at the Nan Province train station, Yun Yan asked Xin Yi to buy a train ticket to Beijing. Since she couldn't always be with her, it was time for her to learn how to buy train tickets.
Soon Xinyi came back with the ticket. Maybe she was a little excited because it was her first time buying a train ticket.
"Sister Yunyan, I didn't expect buying train tickets to be so easy!" Xinyi said.
"This is not a difficult thing, Xinyi. You have to learn to be independent in the future. Sister Yunyan can't stay with you forever." Yunyan said.
Hearing Yunyan say that she couldn't stay with her forever, Xinyi felt an indescribable feeling in her heart.
"Xinyi, the train will arrive in half an hour. I'll take care of the luggage while you go to the bathroom first." Yun Yan said.
"Why do we have to go to the bathroom in advance? Isn't there a bathroom on the train?" Xinyi asked puzzledly.
"Yes, but the restroom on the train smells quite bad. So every time before I get on the train, I always go to the restroom at the train station first." Yun Yan explained.
Hearing Yunyan say this, Xinyi also understood. Then the two of them took turns going to the bathroom. Ten minutes later, the train to Beijing arrived.
Yunyan took Xinyi to the platform to check their tickets, and found their seats after getting on the train.
It was Xinyi’s first time taking a train, and everything about it was new to her!
After two days and three nights, Xinyi's initial excitement gradually wore off. She felt dizzy the entire way and couldn't eat anything.
After the train arrived in Beijing, she stood up dazed. Yun Yan saw her and quickly supported her. After getting off the train and resting in the ticket hall for half an hour, Xinyi finally recovered.
"Sister Yunyan, riding the train is too tiring!" Xin Yisheng said with a hopeless look.
The first time she took a train, all her curiosity about trains was extinguished, and she never wanted to take a train again.
"This is your first time taking such a long ride, and you're not used to it yet. You'll be fine after taking it a few more times." Yun Yan said with a smile.
After Xinyi was no longer dizzy, Yunyan took her out of the ticket hall of the train station. They were waiting for the bus at the bus stop outside the train station. Seeing a bus going to Beijing University, Yunyan pulled Xinyi on.
After buying the ticket, Yunyan asked the ticket seller about the location of the guesthouses near Kyoto University. When the ticket seller heard Yunyan say that she was there to send her sister to study at Kyoto University, he enthusiastically told them the locations of several guesthouses near Kyoto University.
When the others on the bus heard that Xinyi was a student admitted to Peking University this year, they all greeted her enthusiastically. As expected, no matter what era, Peking University students are very popular.
Yun Yan looked at the streets of Beijing through the glass. It was more prosperous than when she first came to Beijing a few years ago.
After arriving at the Beijing University bus stop, Yunyan and Xinyi got off the bus and found a guesthouse according to the direction the conductor had pointed.
Yunyan booked a double room, took the key and took Xinyi to the room.
Xinyi couldn't hold on any longer and lay down on the bed as soon as she entered the room.
"Xinyi, if you're tired, take a good rest first. I'll go out and buy some food. What do you want to eat?" Yun Yan asked after entering the room.
"Sister Yunyan, my stomach is still churning and I don't want to eat anything!" Xinyi said listlessly.
"You haven't eaten much since you got on the train. How can your body hold up if you don't eat? You should have a good rest first. I'll buy you some appetizers." Yun Yan said.
Yunyan took the key and left the guesthouse, then started walking around. Unexpectedly, there were so many shops near Beijing University, selling clothes, food, and various daily necessities. It could be said that there was everything you could imagine.
Yun Yan walked into a restaurant at random, ordered a plate of scrambled eggs with tomatoes and a plate of three fresh vegetables, and rice as the main course.
When the food arrived, Yunyan picked up her chopsticks and started eating. It tasted pretty good. Halfway through, she took out her lunch box and asked the boss to make another portion of sweet and sour pork ribs and rice to take away.
After finishing her meal, Yunyan paid the bill with the boss, picked up her packed food and prepared to return to the guesthouse. On the way back, she saw a place selling sour plum soup and stopped.
"Miss, would you like a cup of sour plum soup? Our sour plum soup is a century-old brand. It used to be served to the emperors and empresses in the Forbidden City." The boss started bragging when he saw Yun Yan.
