Chapter 64 Lin A Niang is Reluctant

Before He Nansheng could open his mouth, Shitou said, "Dalinzi's mother is from this village. There are only his mother and sister at home. There is a room available in her house. If you want to go, Gou Zhiqing, we will take you there. Mother Lin will agree to let you stay."

Gou Suisui's face lit up with joy when he heard this. Just as he was about to speak, Shengzi pulled Shitou back and said, "What do you want to do? Isn't our captain here? Why are you so active?!"

Gou Suisui couldn't help laughing, and when he looked up, he saw that He Nansheng's ears were red again. "Then I'll have to trouble Captain He."

He Nansheng had a smile in his eyes, and his face was softer than ever before. He said in a low, mellow voice, "It's not a problem."

Gou Suisui blinked and thought He Nansheng was really interesting. This was not the first time he had helped her.

"Sui Sui, now that you have a place to go, can you take me with you?" Wang Qiaoru grabbed Gou Sui Sui's clothes and whispered under the pressure from He Nansheng.

Gou Suisui glanced at her and said, "Then you can ask Mother Lin if she can accept two people."

She didn't refuse, nor did she directly ask him to take her with him.

After all, the house belongs to someone else, and Gou Suisui has no right to make decisions on their behalf.

He Nansheng did not comment on this. He sent Shengzi and others back to the camp, and took Gou Suisui and the other two to Lin A Niang's home.

It just so happened that Lin A'niang's family lived not far from Lao Liu's family. In the local dialect, they lived up and down the stairs.

It was a rainy day and the door of Lin A'niang's house was closed, so He Nansheng went to knock on the door.

"Mother Lin, it's me, Xiao He."

There was a noise in the house, and after a while, the door opened, revealing a middle-aged woman wearing a gray short jacket and trousers, with a sad but kind face.

"Captain He is here?" Lin A Niang said with a smile. When she saw the person behind He Nansheng, she asked, "Who is this?"

Lin A'niang had heard the neighbors shouting that the educated youth site had suffered a disaster due to a landslide. Now when she saw him, she guessed why He Nansheng had come.

"Mother Lin, I've retired from the army. Just call me He Nansheng."

"The educated youth site has collapsed and the educated youth have nowhere to live. Gou Suisui is an educated youth I know well and we are easy to get along with. Do you think we can let her live with you? And this female comrade has a good relationship with Gou Suisui. They are both good girls." He Nansheng lowered his voice and did not act like a big devil in front of the soldiers at all.

Lin A Niang glanced at Gou Suisui and Wang Qiaoru and frowned subconsciously.

For years, she and her little daughter had lived together, with no outsiders moving in. And now they suddenly said they wanted two educated youth to come...

But this person was brought by Captain He, and she was in a dilemma for a moment.

"If we move in, we will pay a certain amount of rent and will not cause any trouble to you, Aunt Lin. We will not eat or take anything for free. If you mind, Aunt Lin, don't worry. We will find another place." Gou Suisui saw that the other party was not very willing, so he spoke.

At this moment, a girl, about thirteen or fourteen years old, ran out of the house. She stood beside Lin A Niang's legs and grabbed her clothes. "A Niang?"

"Gou Zhiqing is right. Mother Lin, you don't have to worry. I just brought them here for you to meet them. If you don't want them to live here, I will take them away and you don't have to feel burdened." He Nansheng also saw Lin A'niang's reluctance.

Lin A Niang touched the little girl's head and remained silent.

Gou Suisui saw the little girl looking at them with her big eyes blinking, and smiled, reached into her bag, took out a big white rabbit, peeled it, stepped forward and fed it to the little girl.

The little girl was stunned. She looked at the milky candy in front of her and swallowed subconsciously. She tilted her head and glanced at Lin A Niang: "Mother──"
