Chapter 102 Selection: Ru

If the facts were not right before their eyes, Guan Landa and others would never have dared to believe it.

But even if they saw it with their own eyes, it would take them some time to digest it.

This made You Ai feel helpless. She couldn't tell everything, but they had more important things to deal with at the moment.

She said, "Okay, we'll talk about other things later. Xiao Dai isn't afraid of the lava, so I'm going to let her carry me to get the thorns."

As soon as these words were spoken, everyone else's faces showed worry and deep concern. But Xiao Dai could move freely above the molten lava, and with her around, things really got twice the result with half the effort.

You Ai said no more. She had decided to give it a try before, but now she could lie on Xiao Dai, separating herself from the lava and avoiding direct exposure to the high temperature. It was much easier.

Xiao Dai was very obedient and carried her to the rock. As soon as they came out of the cave, they were overwhelmed by unbearable heat waves. The temperature of their whole body rose sharply. It was very uncomfortable, but they could barely bear it with the protection of the barrier.

She looked down from above and saw that the crabs' big claws were still working. She originally thought they were eating water chestnuts, but now it seemed that it was not the case. They were eating something attached to the rocks.

There were many herbaceous sedges on the rocks, which sometimes swayed slightly under the beating of the heat waves. Xiao Dai slowly approached, and You Ai swam directly towards the rocks.

I raised my hand to pick some, but when my hand got close to the sedge, I found that the deep red leaves began to melt and drip onto the rocks.

She suddenly withdrew her hand, and saw crabs swarming around her like crazy, eating up all the water chestnuts that had dripped onto the rocks.

Yu Ai finally understood that the crabs weren't eating the sedge, but rather the melted sedge. She had a barrier on her body, designed to protect against high temperatures, so the barrier's temperature was low, while the sedge melted when it was cold.

The crabs ate up all the water chestnuts that had melted on the rocks, and then raised their big claws to pinch You Ai. She was so scared that she quickly jumped back onto Xiao Dai, away from the rocks, and watched those big claws waving in the air.

This is not a very easy thing to do.

Xiao Dai did not receive any clear instructions and carried You Ai around the rocks. Long Man, who was at the entrance of the cave, was anxious and relayed the real-time situation to Guan Landa and An Fei who were behind and could not see the whole picture.

She said, "She's spinning on the lava. It looks like she hasn't gotten the sedge yet. I'm afraid she's encountered some difficulties."

Then she exclaimed, "I think I saw the crab's big claws. Could it be that I'm being attacked by a crab?"

Guan Landa speculated, "Could it be that these crabs are protecting the elm?"

"I don't know..." Long Man paused, "She went to the rocks again."

Yes, You Ai went up again, this time she was not going to get the sedge, she was going to get the crab shell.

The water chestnuts melt when they are cold, so she needs a container that can hold them. These crabs are not afraid of high temperatures, so they can be found locally.

She used the pause skill on a nearby crab, and with a dagger in hand, she quickly cut off its claws and threw them to Xiao Dai. Then she grabbed the crab, climbed up a little, and pried open its shell.

Long Man, who was watching at the entrance of the cave, was so shocked that he forgot to broadcast.

She only wanted the crab shell, and the rest fell from her hand and onto the rock. When she checked the crab shell and made sure it was usable, she looked down and found that the crab had been eaten by her companions.

This made You Ai inexplicably worried: Could it be that these crabs have a voracious appetite and eat everything?

Suddenly, a crack appeared in the barrier on her body. She knew that she could not hold on for much longer and had to retreat quickly.

But she saw the crabs below staring at her eagerly, and she had no idea where to start. The cracks in her barrier were still increasing, and she really didn't have time.

When Long Man saw this, he took a deep breath, which strangled Guan Landa and An Fei's breath.

They held their breath and asked, "What's wrong?"

It took Long Man a long while to find her voice again. She said, "The barrier is broken."

You Ai asked Xiao Dai to fan a wing at the rock on the side. Although the high temperature above the lava could only form a thin layer of ice on the crabs, it was enough to freeze them for a while.

The sedge turned directly into liquid, attracting the surrounding crabs to swarm in and scramble for food frantically.

She seized the opportunity, used her pliers to pick some water chestnuts into the crab shell, and returned to Xiaodai before the crab arrived. Xiaodai and her master's consciousness were in sync, and she knew that her master had begun to endure the high temperature scorching through the cracks, so she immediately swam towards the cave entrance.

The crabs seemed to know that Youai had edible sedge, and they all chased after her. As soon as she got off Xiaodai, she saw the crabs already swarming to the cave entrance.

"Hurry up!" You Ai shouted to the other three. Xiao Dai flapped her wings from behind to freeze the crabs, but the army of crabs coming from behind were not moved at all. They climbed onto their companions and rushed towards them.

They fled back the way they came, using the light of the fluorescent stone to illuminate the way ahead, but it also gave the crabs chasing them from behind a clear direction.

Just when they were at their wit's end, a white hole appeared in the darkness. Long Man, who was in front, was delighted at first, then hesitated, because after all, this might not be the way back.

To enter or not to enter?

Everyone took a look at the bustling crowd of crabs behind them and made a unanimous decision - go in!

Coming out of the cave, the first thing I saw was a sheet of ice, exactly where everyone was frozen. The door behind me instantly closed, and I disappeared along with the crab that had chased me to the cave entrance, its claws already extended.

Licia and the others immediately surrounded them. Ruiko was surprised and happy. "This cave entrance suddenly appeared. There was nothing to see except darkness. I didn't expect you to be able to come out from it."

Lolita watched Youai holding a shell, took a look at the contents, and stammered, "Is this... blood?"

Ruiko and Licia also looked at the thing in her hand, their expressions were indescribable.

You Ai shook his head and said, "This is Rutaceae."

"You found it?" Licia said. "I thought the sedge would be something like coral."

Riko immediately retorted, "How are we going to save them if they're like Coral? They're completely frozen and we can't even find where their mouths are?"

That was true. Lixia nodded and asked, "How do we do it? Should we just apply it directly?"

Everyone looked at You Ai, You Ai looked at An Fei, and then everyone turned to look at her, making An Fei's face red. She whispered, "Wipe..."

"Oh, yes, if it's rubbed on, then we should just apply it on," Lixia nodded, then suddenly looked back and asked An Fei, "Apply it all over your body?"

An Fei pursed her lips, not knowing what to say, because she didn't know either!

Seeing this, You Ai said, "Let's try it."

As she spoke, she dipped some ice in a pair of pliers and dripped it onto one of the ice sculptures. The solid and unshakable ice began to melt from the top.

Everyone watched with delight, and Ruiko blurted out, "It really works!"

Lixia said hurriedly, "I have a shell here." Then she took some water chestnuts from the crab shell to help.

"I have one too." Lolita joined the group. Others helped to place the mermaids whose ice had melted.
