Chapter 12 Communication

Chapter 12 Communication

Yu Yu was helped up the stairs with unsteady steps. Wei Yuan's hands firmly supported her arms without any excessive movement.

"How do you feel? Where do you feel uncomfortable?" Wei Yuan looked at Yu Yu's face and frowned slightly.

Yu Yu bit her lip and whispered, "It's just... my stomach hurts a little, and I feel a little nauseous..."

Wei Yuan had been in the military for many years and had a general understanding of basic medical conditions. Seeing this, he asked, "When did it start? Have you been tested for bacterial infection?"

Yu Yu had no choice but to continue to fool around: "Well... probably earlier in the morning, I already took the medicine."

A hint of doubt flashed in Wei Yuan's eyes. He noticed that Yu Yu didn't seem to want to talk about this matter anymore, and there was something inconsistent in her words and expression.

He said nothing more and stood up.

Yu Yu clutched the bed sheet nervously and asked for conversation, "A Yuan, how long will you be staying on Central Star this time?"

Wei Yuan lowered his eyes and looked at her: "If there is no emergency at the border, I will probably stay in the Central Star."

His mental state has been unstable recently and he is no longer suitable to continue fighting on the front line. The Federal Parliament unanimously decided to let him return to the Central Star to recuperate for a while.

Every SSS-level extraordinary person is the most precious resource of the Federation, and the top leaders will naturally ensure his "sustainable development."

Moreover, his healer, Yu Yu, is already 22 years old and will graduate from the Central Military Academy in two years. Her healing ability is already fully mature, and she can also use this time to cultivate feelings and soothe his spiritual body.

Hearing Wei Yuan's answer, Yu Yu's face lit up with joy and he was about to say something else.

Wei Yuan spoke first: "If you feel uncomfortable, take a good rest first. I will come to accompany you when you are better."

"...Okay." Yu Yu felt like he was shooting himself in the foot.

Wei Yuan went downstairs.

Yu Yao and Yu Zhi were both sitting there waiting for him without eating. When they saw Wei Yuan coming, they looked at him eagerly with the same expectation on their similar faces, like hungry baby birds.

A faint smile flashed across Wei Yuan's face. He walked over quickly and said apologetically, "No need to wait for me. You can eat first."

"Oh, it's okay. It won't get cold in a while anyway." Yu Yao said nonchalantly.

The Yu family’s dining table has an automatic keep-warm function, which allows the food to always maintain the taste and texture of when it was just out of the pot.

Wei Yuan pulled out a chair opposite Yu Yao and sat down. The rich aroma of rice mixed with the layered flavors of several dishes penetrated his nostrils. Even though he was not a big fan of food, he couldn't help but look forward to this meal.

Yu Yao could no longer hold back. As soon as Wei Yuan touched the chair cushion, he picked up a piece of food with chopsticks and stuffed it into his mouth.

"Wow!" Yu Yao, who had good grades in literature since childhood, seemed to have lost his ability to organize language at this moment, and could only use interjections.

Seeing that he was enjoying the meal, Yu Zhi smiled lightly, but stopped smiling when she saw Wei Yuan sitting across from her. She hesitated for a moment before asking, "Brother Wei Yuan, is it delicious?"

Wei Yuan had just finished a piece of spicy honey-fried pork, his mouth filled with a domineering yet refreshing spiciness, and his already red lips seemed to be dripping with blood: "It's delicious."

He prefers spicy food, but there are generally few spicy foods in the army. He didn't expect to eat such appetizing dishes at the Yu family.

He picked up a piece of crispy fried grass carp fillet and took a bite, his tongue felt numb all the way to the root, occupying all his taste buds.

Yu Zhi finally seemed to breathe a sigh of relief, her eyes curved and she smiled again. She had known that Wei Yuan loved spicy food, so she had specially added these two spicy dishes. The result was of course as she expected.

Wei Yuan finished most of the two dishes. Even after finishing them, he was still licking his lips with satisfaction. Naturally, his impression of Yu Zhi improved a little.

It seemed that she was really as sensible as Yu Yao said.

*

After dinner.

Since the servants in charge of the kitchen had been given a holiday by Yu Yi, Yu Yao naturally took on the job of clearing the dishes. He was a mysophobe and could not bear to see leftover dishes left on the table.

Only Wei Yuan and Yu Zhi were left sitting in the living room resting.

"Brother Wei Yuan, do you want to eat some fruit?" Yu Zhi asked politely.

"No need." Wei Yuan shook his head slightly. He paused and said, "You are...very good now."

Yu Zhi showed a hint of confusion and clasped his hands together awkwardly.

"I mean, you should just get along with your family like this and stop arguing with them all the time."

His words sounded quite earnest, like an elder teaching a younger one.

"I know you might be a little uncomfortable, but you can communicate more with your brothers and sisters. Don't keep anything to yourself."

Yu Zhi turned away from him, looking a little unnatural as she said, "Brother Wei Yuan, I know."

Seeing her unhappy expression, Wei Yuan realized that what he said to her seemed to imply that she had eaten the meal clean and didn't recognize him. She had just finished eating the meal made by someone with satisfaction, but now she turned around and lectured her.

He coughed lightly: "I don't mean anything else, don't take it to heart."

Yu Zhi took a deep breath, as if mustering up courage, and looked up at Wei Yuan.

Wei Yuan's eyebrows twitched, thinking that Yu Zhi was angry and was about to make a noise like he had seen before.

He couldn't help but regret his unnecessary actions. Perhaps Yu Zhi had changed so much in the past two days that he thought he could communicate with her well.

"I know I was wrong before," the girl blurted out, but the words were completely different from what Wei Yuan expected. "I also know that Brother Wei Yuan, you are doing this for my own good. I will change, and I am already changing..."

She was eager to prove it, "I've already changed all the bad clothes, and I haven't argued with my parents in the past two days..."

But as she spoke, she lowered her head in a lack of confidence, her voice becoming smaller than a mosquito: "I know this is not enough. Compared to my sister, I am still far behind..."

Wei Yuan's tense nerves softened, and he began to feel ashamed of his previous avoidance of her and his previous unwarranted speculation. She was just an insecure little girl who had just reached adulthood, but she was not a bad person by nature.

Wei Yuan softened his attitude, as if he felt a desire to make amends because of the shame he felt. "You don't have to compare yourself with your sister. Everyone is different."

But the girl regarded his words as a polite remark to comfort her, and only hummed in a depressed tone.

Wei Yuan's light brain beeped twice, interrupting his thoughts as he didn't know how to comfort her anymore.

"I have some things to do at the military headquarters, so I'll leave first." He replied, "Thank you for the meal."

It was the schedule and information about the afternoon emergency meeting sent by subordinates. Although he said he was going back to Central Star to recuperate, there were still many things to deal with.

"Oh, okay." Yu Zhi stood up with him, thought for a moment and asked, "Do you want to tell your sister?"

Wei Yuan thought for a moment: "I'll send her a message."

The meeting was scheduled suddenly and the time was quite urgent. Yu Yu was not feeling well and was resting, so there was no need to disturb her.

Wei Yuan walked to the door and found that there was a little girl following him. The girl was wearing slippers and taking small steps to barely keep up with his pace. When she saw him turn around, she waved at him twice with her sleeves as if to deal with it.

"Goodbye, Brother Wei Yuan."
