Chapter 11 The farm's vegetables are ripe, harvest with one click.

Zhao Youcai opened his backpack again, and inside lay several packets of seeds. There were three packets each of cabbage seeds, radish seeds, and wheat seeds.

I opened the shop again and saw seeds lying in each small compartment. Apart from the three types in my backpack, the rest of the seeds were in gray bags, and I couldn't even see the seed names.

The seeds are marked with a price, which must be purchased with money earned from reselling items produced in [Happy Town].

Zhao Youcai had a rough idea in his mind: the money needed to unlock the purchase and upgrade rights of items in the cheat system would come entirely from the output of the cheat system.

This prevented him from throwing money in from outside and becoming a lazy bum, forcing him to honestly choose to do things himself and be self-sufficient.

Zhao Youcai first planted three cabbage seeds, waited fifteen seconds, and then harvested them with one click, obtaining fifteen cabbages.

Looking at the fresh, lush, and large cabbages, Zhao Youcai was overjoyed.

This farm is so efficient at growing vegetables!

If a ranch were to unlock the ability to raise chickens, ducks, and fish in this way in the future, wouldn't I be able to take off?

Thinking this, I planted the other two seeds in two separate batches, and patiently waited fifteen seconds before harvesting them with one click, resulting in fifteen radishes and fifteen bags of wheat.

Zhao Youcai first stored the cabbages and radishes in the farm's warehouse. When he finally put the wheat sacks into the warehouse, a small message popped up: "[Unlocking the processing function requires upgrading the farm to level five. Please keep working on it.]"

Zhao Youcai currently has no more seeds to plant. Looking at the experience progress bar, he is still 65 experience points short of reaching the second level. There is no hope of unlocking the fourth piece of black soil today.

The farm here isn't small; let's see if there's anything else going on.

The entire fenced-off pasture was dusty and gray. Touching the wooden sign that read "Pasture" brought up a smaller message: "Unlocking the Pasture requires upgrading your Farm to Level 3. Please keep trying."

The edge of the farm was completely obscured by clouds, and Zhao Youcai knew that this was the extent to which the farm's functions could be explored for the time being. He then returned to the large map to look for any new icons that had lit up.

Unfortunately, even after carefully examining it at least three times, the icon still didn't light up.

Zhao Youcai was still persistent, clicking on each icon one by one. Finally, he found the only building in the corner that displayed a small text prompt.

[The official opening of Ping An Tailor Shop will take two days and fifteen hours.]

Zhao Youcai exited the map, opened the door, and went outside.

As expected, his sons and daughters-in-law had all gone to work. Remembering what the team leader's wife had said when she came yesterday, Zhao Youcai, after taking a muscle relaxant, hurried to the kitchen, took the clean bowls, and headed straight for the production team's canteen.

Why not eat a free meal? You need to be well-fed to have the energy to make money.

I'll have to figure out a way to go to town soon and sell the cabbages and radishes from the farm warehouse, as well as the red bean buns I've been working on all morning.

However, they can't sell openly; if caught, it's considered speculation and they'll be sent to jail.

I remember there was a black market at the entrance of an alley next to the steel factory's residential compound; you could try your luck there.

It can only be said that timing is everything. The brigade leader had just finished assigning farm work in the fields and was on his way to the canteen for lunch when he ran into Zhao Youcai. The two sat down together and chatted casually. Then the brigade leader said:

"There are so many things to do every day, I wish I could split myself into eight pieces! And here comes another job! I have to personally drive the oxcart to town to pick up the newly arrived educated youth."

Zhao Youcai's fingers trembled slightly with excitement. This opportunity to hitch a ride on an oxcart had finally arrived!

Zhao Youcai held a steamed bun made of three kinds of flour in his hand, occasionally picking up a piece of diced radish and pickled vegetables and putting it in his mouth. He asked casually, "Can you give me one? I want to go to town for a walk."

The brigade leader had overheard his wife mentioning that Zhao Youcai's youngest son had walked angrily back to town with a bag on his back, and assumed that Zhao Youcai was worried about his youngest son, so he didn't inquire further.

"Okay, I'll go back and hitch up the oxcart after I finish eating."

Zhao Youcai stood up. "Then I'll go back and change my clothes and go straight to your house."

After stuffing the last bite of steamed bun into his mouth, Zhao Youcai carried the bowl and plate to the designated dishwashing counter and left.

The first thing I did when I got home was to pick up the basket of red bean buns and try to put them into the breakfast stall.

Suddenly remembering that the breakfast stall was closing, Zhao Youcai worried that once the red bean buns were put in, they wouldn't be able to get out, so he took one out and put it in to test the waters.

The breakfast stall was closed, and the red bean buns wouldn't fit. I then opened the farm warehouse and tried putting them inside.

To Zhao Youcai's utter surprise and delight, something unexpected happened: the red bean bun was put inside!

Click again to take it out, and the red bean bun is back in your hand.

Zhao Youcai stuffed the red bean buns back into the basket, placed one hand inside the basket, and silently chanted "store in." Only the baskets that did not belong to the Golden Finger remained outside, and all the red bean buns inside the baskets went into the warehouse.

Zhao Youcai then used the same method to process the cabbages and radishes in the warehouse, and found that they could all be harvested in this way, which made him extremely happy.

Unfortunately, the wheat couldn't be taken out. Zhao Youcai remembered that the farm had mentioned unlocking the processing function after upgrading to level five, and he knew what to do.

It seems that wheat must be processed into flour before it can be sold; semi-finished products are not acceptable.

Zhao Youcai also discovered a magical function in the farm's warehouse: the red bean buns could be kept warm inside, and the temperature inside and out was exactly the same.

Looking at the crisp, dew-covered cabbages, she smiled even more happily.
