Chapter 113 Please Release My Second Brother

Under the cold night sky, a half-moon is hidden behind the dark clouds, with half of its corner slightly visible.

The falling snowflakes fluttered in the air. Hua Shi walked quickly through the village road in the dark night, braving the wet and cold snow.

The sky and the earth were dark, the wind was biting, and in the silence, not a single sound of human movement could be heard. Even the moonlight hanging high in the sky seemed exceptionally cold.

A person and a cat walking in the deserted moonlight seemed a bit strange...

Hua Shi had become accustomed to such quiet and deserted winter nights, until she was about to return to the shabby little courtyard of the Hua family when she suddenly heard bursts of suppressed crying.

Her steps suddenly stopped.

Standing at the entrance of the alley not far from the small courtyard, Hua Shi raised his head and looked towards the dark direction where the voice came from.

“Wuwuwu…”

"Wuwu... My second brother has fainted, please stop hitting me..."

The familiar sound of crying made her originally relaxed mood suddenly become a little heavy.

It was the crying voice of Hua Xiao and Hua Li...

She didn't even need to think about it, she could tell by just counting on her toes that Li must have done something again...

"Ooooooooooo… Milk! Stop hitting me…!"

“Woo…”

The crying sounds coming from the yard became louder and louder, and one could vaguely hear Hua Xiao's despair and pleading voice from her crying.

Hua Shi was busy all day, which left her with almost no time and thoughts to think about other things.

A day had passed, and only when she heard the wailing sound did she suddenly remember Li, whom she had forgotten about.

After Xiao Hei scratched her last night, she stayed away from home all day today. Li's anger had no place to vent, so she probably took it out on Hua Yu and the others...

Hua Shi paused for a moment, then immediately quickened his pace.

"when--!"

The courtyard door was suddenly pushed open with force, and the force bounced back twice, hitting the wall behind it. The sound was particularly harsh in the quiet night.

Hua Shi calmly watched the scene happening in the yard, and what she saw made her subconsciously frown.

Li was sitting upright on a wooden chair facing the courtyard gate, looking gloomy.

Hua Xiao and Hua Li both knelt on the ground, crying breathlessly, their voices choked with tears, and begged her with their hands clasped together.

The most striking thing was that Hua Yu was lying curled up in front of Li, with his eyes closed, brows furrowed, and face pale, obviously showing signs of coma.

"Wuwuwu... Grandma, please, Big Brother didn't mean it, please let Big Brother go..."

Hua Xiao's choked voice gradually became louder.

Hua Li, who was standing by, wanted to reach out and touch his second brother who had already fainted, but was hit on the back of his hand by Li with a stick. He shrank back in pain, his eyes red, and he sobbed softly.

Li raised her chin, revealing the right side of her face and the area where her jaw connected to her neck. That area was wrapped in a white cloth, and black medicine stains were seeping out of the cloth.

These places were all scratched by the black cat. They were now applied with medicine and wrapped up.

Li looked extremely furious, on the verge of going berserk.

At the gate of the courtyard, Hua Shi suddenly pushed open the gate, which became her breaking point, adding fuel to her already explosive anger.

"Hua Shi! You finally came back! I thought you were dead out there!"

The moment Li saw Hua Shi, he suddenly stood up, holding the stick in his hand, and rushed towards Hua Shi aggressively.

As Hua Shi stepped into the yard, she saw Li rushing towards her with a stick in his hand. He looked ferocious and it was obvious that he was going to beat her up.

She took a step back, subconsciously tightened the bamboo basket in her hand, looked up and around, trying to find a tool that was more convenient for her.

"Meow!!--"

The black cat that had been following behind Hua Shi was very keenly aware of the approaching danger.

It suddenly jumped out from behind Hua Shi, made a threatening and fierce cat cry towards Li, arched its body, and slightly kicked its hind legs, as if it was ready to pounce at any time.

Li was frightened by its ferocious and terrifying posture. She stopped walking angrily and looked at the black cat with lingering fear.

"Meow!!--"

Meeting Li's ferocious gaze, the black cat's cry became even sharper.

If Hua Shi hadn't just taught it a lesson yesterday, forbidding it to pounce and bite people, it might have flown towards Li's face again.

Li was afraid of this fierce black cat and did not dare to approach Hua Shi easily.

"Hua Shi, throw this beast out now! Who told you to bring it in? This is my place! Throw it out now!"

Li turned her head and growled in the direction of Hua Shi, a little hoarsely.

Hua Shi saw fear in her cloudy pupils, and suddenly had an idea in his mind.

"Grandma, have you forgotten? You agreed to let me keep this cat at home, so I've been keeping it ever since. It has a bad temper, and it can easily be startled if you speak too loudly. Speak softly, or it might pounce on you and bite you again."

Hua Shi took a step back and looked at Li with an innocent tone.

Li's face became visibly embarrassed, and she seemed to have thought of what had happened before. When she looked at Hua Shi again, the malice hidden in her eyes deepened a bit.

"I'm asking you to throw it out now! If you can't hear me, get out with it! The Hua family belongs to me alone, and you guys can't mess around!"

Li spoke harshly to her and ordered Hua Shi decisively.

She was now looking at Hua Shi, feeling more and more unhappy and annoyed. If it weren't for the black cat blocking the way, Hua Shi's fate would be similar to Hua Yu lying on the ground.

"Did you hear that?!"

Seeing that Hua Shi didn't move for a long time, Li couldn't bear it any longer. She screamed, her voice cracking and sounding very harsh.

Hua Shi said with a cold expression, "I'm afraid not."

Li, whose face was extremely gloomy, was completely ignited by these words. She raised the stick in her hand and swung it at Hua Shi, regardless of the black cat on the ground that was staring at her hungrily.

Hua Shi had been on guard against her, and when she swung the stick, he quickly dodged, "Xiao Hei!"

“Meow—!! Meow meow meow!”

When the black cat heard Hua Shi calling its name, it immediately received the order, kicked its hind legs, and pounced on Li, scratching and biting her.

"ah!--"

Li screamed and the stick in her hand fell to the ground out of fright.

"when!"

Li, who had lost his weapon, was like someone who had lost his claws. The moment the black cat pounced on him, he fell flat on his butt on the snow in the yard.

“Crack—”

Hua Shi clearly heard the sound of bones breaking.
