Chapter 193: Expensive and Tasty

"You two guests are here to eat fish, right? Please come in!"

Hua Shi and Xie Mingchi had just walked through the streets and alleys when they arrived at the fish restaurant they were looking for. They didn't even have time to take a good look at the plaque hanging high up.

A waiter who was wiping the table with a towel saw the two of them and ran out as if he had seen a savior, and welcomed them in.

"What would you two like to eat? We have a lot of food in this teahouse. How about I tell you the names of the dishes?"

Before Hua Shi could react, he had already followed the waiter's hand and sat down at the table.

Xie Mingchi followed closely behind her.

The waiter looked at Hua Shi and the other person happily. After he finished speaking, he waited quietly for their response with a hopeful look on his face.

Hua Shi looked at the exhibits of the fish restaurant calmly.

The tables, chairs and benches were neatly arranged. At first glance, it looked like the place was well-maintained, but... it was extremely deserted.

Apart from her and Xie Mingchi, there were only two waiters in this huge restaurant and no customers.

Hua Shi felt strange and asked calmly, "Why is your restaurant so deserted?"

The waiter's smile suddenly froze, then quickly faded away. He said with a smile, "How could that be? It's still early! No one likes to eat fish in a fish restaurant this early in the morning, so there aren't many people..."

"laugh……"

Before the waiter could finish his words, a burst of sneer suddenly came from behind him, which was full of sarcasm and interrupted the waiter from continuing to say.

Hua Shi followed the direction of the sound and saw a pretty woman in a pink dress and a bun. She was standing on the stairs leading down from the second floor with her hands on her hips and a rebellious look on her face.

The waiter also took a look, and after seeing who it was, he immediately shrank his neck and dared not say a word.

He thought to himself that this was not going to happen, but sure enough, the next second Miss Guan mercilessly exposed his rhetoric...

"Don't listen to that servant's nonsense. He's lying about it being too early and no one being around. The truth is, the food in this tavern is just terrible. Others tried it once and didn't like it. Over time, naturally, they stopped coming."

Hua Shi heard the woman's words with some resentment.

Then, the woman walked towards the two of them, slapped her hand on the table, looked at Hua Shi and the others with a serious face and said, "I advise you to leave quickly and don't waste your money. I tell you the truth, this tavern doesn't make more than two silver coins in a whole year. If you eat here, you will regret it!"

The waiter's expression was somewhat grim. He glanced at the woman vaguely from the corner of his eye, his face showing an expression of anger but unable to speak. It was not until he heard that she was about to drive away the customer who had finally come to the door that he could not help but whispered, "...Actually, it's not that..."

It was just a hollow voice, and before he could finish his words, the woman glared back at him.

The waiter was so frightened that his breathing stopped and his voice choked back. He looked towards the other waiter in front of the counter for help, but got no response.

Under the woman's aggressive gaze, the waiter had no choice but to bite the bullet and whisper to her, "Second Miss, what are you...doing?"

Who would destroy their own family's business? It's their own restaurant business. Not only do they not support it, but they often come over and stare at it. When customers come, they drive them away in a sarcastic manner. It's really...

No wonder he's not on good terms with the boss...

Hua Shi coughed lightly, interrupting the two people who were about to continue arguing, and then looked at the woman, "Who is this...?"

The woman met Hua Shi's puzzled look, then suddenly realized something and said, "You're from out of town, right? You don't even recognize me? I'm Guan Ling, the second daughter of the Guan family."

Hua Shi nodded in understanding, thinking that it must be a famous family in this town.

Guan Ling glanced at Hua Shi, then glanced at Xie Mingchi who was following behind her, curled her lips and said, "This restaurant belongs to my eldest brother Guan Wei. I guarantee with my identity that what I just said is absolutely true. Judging from your clothes, you don't look rich. The food here is expensive and not tasty. Believe me, you two can save a lot of money."

The waiter standing by, after hearing what his second boss said, showed a sour look on his face and bared his teeth, but he just kept silent, not daring to speak out.

Hua Shi paused, then chuckled and said, "I think you misunderstood from the beginning. We are not here to eat this time."
