Chapter 60 Introduction

"Why haven't I heard you say that before?" Ye Shaoqing asked with his eyes wide open.

Xie Mingchi didn't see his little thoughts, but he frowned slightly as if he had thought of something. "Didn't you ask?"

Ye Shaoqing was speechless and choked, "How would I know if you didn't tell me?"

Xie Mingchi glanced at him, with no intention of arguing with him, and walked towards the stream.

Ye Shaoqing smacked his lips, thinking of the girl just now, his thoughts could not come back to his senses for a long time, he followed Xie Mingchi unconsciously, muttering to himself,

"I like her looks too. Ming Chi, do you know her? Why don't you introduce her to me?"

Xie Mingchi squatted by the stream to wash his hands, looked up at the gradually rising sun, and thought about how he had wasted so much time and accomplished nothing, and his expression became a little impatient.

"Didn't I tell you, I'm not familiar with the place. I don't have time to hang out with you. From here, we're right in the village. You can go back by yourself."

Xie Mingchi stood up, shook off the water on his hands, pointed to the small mountain road on the other side of the stream, turned around and walked into a small path covered with weeds. It was a road leading up the mountain.

Ye Shaoqing watched him disappear into the vast weeds and called out several times, "Mingchi... Mingchi, Mingchi?"

Xie Mingchi was obviously determined not to bother with him anymore. He called out to him so many times, but there was no response.

Ye Shaoqing put his hands on his hips and complained in a low voice, "You promised to take me to see the goods, but you chased me away before I even saw the goods clearly...hiss...it hurts so much..."

He rolled up his sleeves and looked at his fair skin, which was bruised and purple from being knocked. His handsome face was distorted, and he complained several times before reluctantly going down the mountain along the path Xie Mingchi pointed out to him...

"They said worshipping at some mountain temple would be helpful. Look how badly I've knocked myself, my whole body aches... They're probably trying to scam me, right?"

The stream was full and flowing slowly. Not far away, willow trees on the riverbank were hanging upside down, swaying in the wind...

The breeze blows on your face, and the fragrance of the fields is everywhere. The wind blows through the crops in the fields, swaying left and right, mixed with the smell of soil and grass, and the fragrance of the fields spreads all the way.

During the flowering season, we walked through an uninhabited ridge of a field. This side was close to Linhai Mountain, where the terrain was steep and the fields between the mountains were lush and green.

Due to its remote location, this place is sparsely populated. Apart from two people I met by the stream, I didn't see anyone else along the way.

I walked around the ridge of the field for a long time before I saw a figure in the distance, bending over the ridge with his head buried, his back half hunched, and almost hidden by the green soybean leaves.

The sun was rising higher at this time, and the grass on the ridges of the fields was getting hot from the sun, and the morning dew had long since evaporated.

As we walked along, layers of heat waves hit us in the face.

Hua Shi had only walked a short distance when he was sweating all over.

Fortunately, I had planned to go out when I was at home, so I changed into some clothes that looked rather worn and thin. Even though the clothes were soaked with sweat and stuck to my body, they were not too sticky.

"Hua Yu!"

Hua Shi waved to the young man who was working hard at the edge of the field and shouted loudly.

Hua Yu, upon hearing the voice, suddenly looked up and looked in the direction of the voice.

As Hua Shi got closer, she could see clearly that the boy's face was tanned red, his hair was messy, like a straw nest pressing against his forehead, and he walked with his trouser legs rolled up, revealing his dark, skinny calves.

Hua Yu walked out barefoot, raised his hand to wipe the sweat from his forehead, revealing his face that was a little purple from the sun. His lips were dry and peeling, obviously due to dehydration, his lips were dry and cracked.

"Why are you here?"

Hua Yu stood at the edge of the field, looking down at Hua Shi who was walking towards him.

"I'll go up the mountain with you later."

Hua Shi wiped the sweat from his forehead again and spoke breathlessly.

Hua Yu looked at her strangely.

Hua Shi walked up the steps around the ridge of the field, noticed his cracked and peeling lips, touched the empty basket, and felt a little annoyed.

"I forgot to bring water. What else can I do in the fields?" Hua Shi looked around and didn't see any drinkable stream water nearby.

The water in the ditch next to it was basically mixed with the mud in the field, making it turbid and undrinkable.

Hua Yu looked at her and shook his head, "No, just water it again and it will be almost done."

He figured that after watering the plants, he would go into the mountains, come out and water them again, wait until the sun was setting, water them again, and then he could go back...

Hua Shi looked at his straight back, hesitated for a moment, and then reminded him, "Don't hunch your back in the future. It will damage your spinal cord and bones in the long run."

She had always seen Hua Yu hunched and bent over, and she thought that his waist was injured for some reason. Now that he can straighten his back, it is obvious that he did it on purpose.

She didn't know why Hua Yu did this on purpose, but when she was still growing, if she wasn't careful, she could easily develop a hunchback and injure her spine, which could affect her for the rest of her life...

Hua Yu glanced at her and didn't say anything, obviously not taking her words to heart.

Hua Shi looked at him with disdain, and knew that what she said was useless.

Hua Yu swallowed his dry throat, walked to the side, picked up the two wooden barrels on one side, carried the load and went to the deep ditch on the upper ridge of the field.

It looks like he is going to fetch water from the lake above.

Inspector Hua Shi looked up and saw that the lake seemed to be right in front of him, but it was actually about twenty meters away. The ridges of the fields were ups and downs, and he didn't know how many times he had to run back and forth to carry water for irrigation.

Hua Shi put down the basket on his arm, and placed the black cat in the basket on the edge of the field, then turned and headed towards the stream they came from.

I was going to get some clean water for Hua Yu to drink, but I didn't know if he had eaten yet...

But getting up so early, I guess he didn't eat...
