Chapter 15
The yellow sand was swirling in the air, sweeping across the barren land with the momentum to devour everything.
The man in front of him still had his back straight, the chains dangling around his wrists, and Yu Tai knew he was probably out of strength.
This person looks calm, but in fact he is extremely stubborn.
Just like now, the bright sun above their heads seemed to melt everything it shone on, making them dizzy. From the time they set out until now, they had never rested once, but Shu Li had never complained about the hardship or tiredness.
As a cultivator, Yu Tai naturally did not feel tired at all, but as a mortal, he had managed to hold on until now.
Originally, she thought flying with a sword would be faster, but in this seemingly peaceful desert, there was a hidden danger beneath the sand dunes.
The monsters living in such a barren environment are much more powerful than those in the giant forest. Each of them has hard scales on its body and soft tentacles that can drag down flying creatures and strangle them to death.
It’s not that Yu Tai couldn’t defeat them, but there were too many of them and they were extremely annoying. Especially since she was protecting Shu Li, it was even more difficult to deal with them. So she simply got down and left.
In the original book, the hero and the heroine accidentally entered an uninhabited city after dodging monsters that could easily take people's lives.
The city is located in the deepest part of the desert and automatically changes its location every once in a while. Shu Li was able to find it because of the shining halo of the male protagonist.
Xia Mo had long since hidden in Yu Tai's monster bag because he couldn't stand the abnormally hot climate here. In the desert visible to the naked eye, there were only two living creatures, Yu Tai and Shu Li.
She maliciously grabbed the iron chain connecting the two people, and the person who was walking in front felt the resistance and stopped.
Yu Tai rubbed the chains with her fingers, staring at Shu Li and asking, "Brother, are you thirsty?"
Thinking of Yu Tai's previous words, 'It's a bit dry, I'll give you some water,' Shu Li subconsciously said, "Junior sister, don't worry about me."
Yu Tai blinked pitifully: "Ah, what should I do? I'm thirsty."
After saying that, she took a few steps forward and was about to lift the veil on Shu Li's hat.
Shu Li took a step back, stepped on something, and an accident happened—
It seemed like something had broken free from its restraints and was twisting wildly under the sand dune. Yu Tai thought something was wrong and quickly pulled Shu Li over. He recited a mantra and a light sword with a cold glow suddenly appeared in the air.
She pulled Shu Li up and at the same time, a huge tentacle stretched out from the fine sand and hit Yu Tai with unstoppable force.
Yu Tai cursed inwardly.
This male protagonist really knows how to step on this monster, which has not yet fully revealed its body, but Yu Tai can vaguely feel the other party's cultivation level at the peak of the Golden Core stage.
If we compare the actual strength of monsters to that of human cultivators, they are one level higher.
This monster is probably the ruler of the entire desert.
Yu Tai was almost knocked off the sword by the tentacles.
Demonic energy overflowed from her fingertips. Her eyes flashed and she struck directly at the tentacle with the huge suction cup. Perhaps it was because she was too impatient or the speed of the flying sword caused a deviation, but the attack missed.
Yu Tai became irritated and pinched her fingers again. A faint cold fragrance suddenly wafted into her nose. A slightly cool hand was placed on her shoulder, and the sound of spring water hitting stone echoed in her ears: "Calm your mind, concentrate."
The miraculous thing was that the evil energy that was originally surging in the body calmed down instantly after this sound, and very sensibly shrank back under the positive energy.
She was so well-behaved that Yu Tai even doubted whether this was really her own demonic energy?
"Look to the left." Shu Li's voice sounded in his ears again, and he put down his hand that was originally gently resting on Yu Tai's shoulder.
Yu Tai subconsciously looked to the left.
At some point, a pair of huge animal eyes suddenly and silently appeared in the rolling sand dunes. The eyes had no whites and were completely black, staring at the two people on the flying swords in horror.
"The eight-legged sand beast is a high-level demon beast. It has a hard shell protecting its body. It is best at strangling its enemies with its eight tentacles, but it is not without weaknesses."
Yu Tai understood almost immediately: "Eyes!"
The man behind him didn't say anything, but Yu Tai felt that he must have smiled.
After sighing at this man's strange personality for who knows how many times, Yu Tai once again prepared to attack, pretending to fight to the death as he flew towards those tentacles and swords.
Seeing the eight-legged sand beast's tentacles chasing after him, Yu Tai immediately turned in the air and flew towards the sand dune at high speed, and directly attacked with the magic energy in his hand.
The eight-legged sand beast's eyes were attacked and it let out a shrill cry.
The sound almost deafened Yu Tai, and the flying sword lost control, carrying the two of them down.
The sand dune formed a whirlpool due to the painful roar of the eight-legged sand beast, and the two were sucked in with a terrifying suction force that seemed to want to swallow them.
Before being completely sucked into the whirlpool, Shu Li looked up at the eight-legged sand beast with one blind eye not far away.
The other party had stopped his deadly roar at some point and was squatting there quietly, staring at Shu Li with his other intact eye.
There was a hint of fear and anticipation in his eyes.
Shu Li's veil had long since fallen off, a smile appeared on her face as bright as a pearl, and she silently said -
'You did a great job.'
...
Something wet licked his face, and the barbs scratched his face, causing him pain.
She regained consciousness and struggled to open her eyes.
A furry face with two big dark circles under its eyes appeared in front of her.
"Xia..." She closed her mouth before she uttered the last word.
Reason returned, and the heroine had no name at all at this time!
When Xia Mo saw her wake up, he made a dissatisfied "squeak", but his eyes were filled with concern.
It’s not in vain that Yu Moss feeds so many bamboos.
Yu Tai was so excited when she woke up that she rubbed her head and supported her weak body to sit up.
She still remembered the last scene before she closed her eyes, when she and Shu Li were swept in together.
Shu Li......
Where's Shu Li!?
She stood up, and the iron chain on her wrist made a crisp sound. She saw Shu Li standing not far away with his back to her, seemingly observing something.
Seeing that his emergency righteousness food was still there, Yu Tai breathed a sigh of relief, thinking that he had lost his mind for a moment. The heroine was still here, and there were chains, so where could he run to?
Thinking of this, she calmed down and began to observe the scenery nearby.
You won’t know until you see it, and you’ll be shocked when you see it.
The surrounding area is mostly covered by yellow sand. The buildings are dilapidated but have a decadent beauty and a sense of history. Isn’t this the uninhabited city where the hero in the original book had the opportunity!
Oh my, no wonder the seniors all like to cling to the protagonist.
This is simply God feeding me, this is all possible.
