Qu Ting and Qu Yang sat at the kitchen door, staring at the spoon in her mother's hand, their saliva secreting rapidly.
"I feel like I'm not afraid of heat, hot food tastes good too." Qu Yang couldn't help but take another deep breath, feeling like his saliva was about to come out.
"I don't think I'm afraid either." Qu Ting stared at her mother and said without turning her head.
Aunt Qu turned around and glared at the two of them when she heard this. "Can you two be more ambitious, especially Ting? You're almost at the age to get married, but you're still so greedy. If this gets out, will you still be able to find a partner?"
Qu Ting sniffed the aroma of meat and shook her head, "I won't look for it anymore. I won't be able to eat it if I get married, so I'd better not get married."
Qu Yang nodded, "That's right, and being someone's daughter-in-law will be a hardship. If my sister doesn't want to find a partner, then don't look for one."
"Get out of here, both of you. If you keep talking nonsense, I'll put it all away and not give you a single bite!" Aunt Qu picked up a large piece of firewood from the stove and dipped it into the bucket next to her. She waited until the flames died down before putting it aside and putting the last batch of pork into the pot.
After a while, the oil residue that had been cut into pieces slowly floated up, and the oil in the pot was bubbling. The oil residue became smaller and smaller, until it was only the size of a fingernail.
Aunt Qu scooped up the oil residue, pressed it with another spoon to squeeze out the oil, and then poured it into the large plate next to her. She quickly sprinkled a little salt on it, and the salt melted immediately when it came into contact with the still hot oil residue.
Qu Ting and Qu Yang's eyes were wide open.
Seeing how useless the two men were, Aunt Qu laughed and scolded them before putting the plates on the small table.
Their eyes followed the plate and finally landed on the table.
Qu Ting was just about to pick up a piece with her chopsticks, but unexpectedly Qu Yang got there first. The boy just reached out and grabbed a piece and put it in his mouth.
The oil residue was super fragrant and slightly browned in color. It was the hottest when it was just out of the pan, so Qu Yang was in trouble. He was directly burned by the boiling oil residue and gasped.
When Qu Ting saw him like this, she burst into laughter. "Serves you right! I taught you not to respect the elderly and love the young!"
"Hiss—hiss—" Qu Yang finally managed to swallow the oil residue, only to feel a burn from his throat to his stomach. Upon hearing Qu Ting's words, he immediately retorted, "Get out of the way! You're only less than two years older than me, and you're already being treated as an elder. How shameless!"
"I smell good. Who smells worse than you? If our mother hadn't washed you, your socks would stand upright if thrown on the ground!" Qu Ting always brings up old grudges when she quarrels with Qu Yang. She is very good at it.
Sure enough, Qu Yang exploded again.
"I'm telling you, are you done yet? Last time you took my egg cake, you promised me that you would never mention this matter again. Why are you not keeping your word?"
"I didn't agree!" Qu Ting stubbornly refused to admit it. She picked up another piece of food with her chopsticks and ran away, still provoking, "Anyway, you stink, like stinky socks!"
Qu Yang didn't want to eat the oil residue anymore and ran after Qu Ting, "Wa ...
Tian Cai smelled the fragrance in the air before he even reached Qu's house. As soon as he reached the door, he heard a noise coming from the yard. A brother and sister were chasing and fighting each other in the yard.
It was obvious that Qu Yang was chasing and beating Qu Ting at the beginning, but I don’t know how the situation changed later and it became Qu Ting chasing and beating Qu Yang.
Seeing Tian Cai at the gate, Qu Yang seemed to have seen a savior. He quickly turned his head and shouted to Qu Ting behind him, "Sister, sister, someone is looking for you. Sister Tian Cai is here - ah -"
As soon as he turned his head, Qu Yang's ear was grabbed by Qu Ting and twisted.
"Cai Cai, wait for me for a moment!" Qu Ting turned around and greeted her, then continued to fight with Qu Yang's ear, twisting it until he screamed.
"Ah - sister, dear sister, I was wrong. I will give you all the delicious food I have - ah, it hurts -"
Tian Cai was watching the two people's fight with great interest. Aunt Qu came out to pour water and saw Tian Cai. She warmly invited her to sit in the house, "Come in and warm up. Don't worry about them. They have been fighting since they were little and they still haven't had enough."
Qu Ting had dealt with Qu Yang enough, and then she came over, clapping her hands in satisfaction, "What's wrong, Cai Cai?"
Tian Cai glanced at Qu Yang, who was grinning, and tried hard to suppress his laughter. "I'm fine. I just wanted to ask if you have time tomorrow. I'm almost out of pills."
"When I'm free, I don't have anything to do today. I'll go there tomorrow morning." When Qu Ting heard that it was about making medicine, she happily agreed.
She really likes making pills. Last time, they were all gone before she had enough to make. She hadn't played with them enough. Rubbing them together felt a bit like playing with mud when she was a child, except that they were a little harder than mud.
Tian Cai and Qu Ting stood at the gate and chatted for a while. They felt it was almost time for dinner and were about to leave, but Aunt Qu forced a bowl of oil residue on them.
She didn't want it; it was too expensive.
Seeing Tian Cai pushing back, Aunt Qu directly pulled Qu Ting over and went back to the house to work.
"My mom's cooking is delicious. You should take some home and try it. Otherwise, if you miss this opportunity, you'll never see the shop again. Who knows when she'll make it again!"
Tian Cai was a little greedy when he smelled the fragrance in the air. After hearing this, he stopped being polite and said cheerfully, "Then I won't be polite with you. Next time Mimi comes back with roe deer, I will give you some."
When Qu Ting heard about roe deer meat, her mouth started watering. The roe deer meat her mother had cooked before was so delicious that she wanted to swallow it into her stomach.
So he nodded quickly, "Yes, yes, let my mother cook it for us when the time comes. She is an excellent cook!"
