33? Just to scare you

33 Just to scare you

◎Huo Yan: I haven't thought about killing you yet.◎

Huo Yan, leveraging Liu Che's influence, gathered dozens of horses and polo players, installing saddles, bits, stirrups, and horseshoes. He then used the money Dong Zhongshu had given him to buy polo clubs and renovate his own small, shabby stable, making it spacious and beautiful, including seating for spectators.

Since this place was set up, Liu Che no longer stayed in the theater. He really liked these horse harnesses. Not only did he form a polo team and ask professionals to play polo with him every day, taking up their time, he even planned to exchange Sang Hongyang for Huo Yan to equip all the cavalrymen who went to his forest garden with horse harnesses.

Every time Huo Yan heard his delusions, he wanted to die in front of him as the comments said.

He has at least several thousand people in Shanglinyuan. With Huo Yan's current production capacity, it will probably take him about eighty years to fully staff him.

Poor and a scoundrel, Huo Yan has now become immune to his impulsive nature and gradually stopped arguing with him. After all, he is a big boy and should not argue with a little adult.

Even though Liu Che was not satisfied with his role as mere award presenter, he insisted that Huo Yan include his polo team in the competition, saying that he wanted to show everyone his Han Dynasty's martial spirit and the emperor's emphasis on cavalry.

Huo Yan simply curled his lips, mentally cursing himself for hiring a fake dad. He just wanted to have fun, but he still managed to use all those fancy words. He still replied, "Then I'll reward you with an exhibition match against the champion team."

"Ah Yan." Liu Che casually swung his polo club, sending up a cloud of straw that hit Feng Liu in the eye. "Even Qu Bing can play the whole game. I'm playing so well. If you want me to stay out of the game, you little bastard, you've got blindness!"

He was a little angry, so Huo Yan moved away to avoid him getting swine fever and hurting himself.

"Your Majesty, my eyesight is very good. You only need to play polo, but I think too much. Do you think I really play polo? I'm betting on the finals later."

The eight-year-old child explained slowly and softly.

"My brother only has one match, and he's playing against a team of all thirteen-year-olds. Plus, he's young, so it's interesting to watch, and it allows me to make some money."

"If you were to go on stage, you'd be facing the three best archery teams in Shanglin Garden, teams that have already established a tacit understanding with each other. Can you make it into the top three? Can you win every match? From what I know, you don't have the ability. You'll either be beaten to a pulp, or they'll be too cautious to react. It'll be neither exciting nor dignified. By then, I'll be out of money, and I'll have lost both my reputation and my dignity, understand?"

Huo Yan's face was expressionless. He rubbed his brows, feeling awkward for a moment, then softened his tone and offered words of comfort. "Be good, play an exhibition match, and then I'll let them go to the sea as a token of my appreciation."

He thought he was giving gentle advice to his sick uncle, but his uncle heard it as a heartbreaking blow.

Sometimes, true words hurt more than lies.

Liu Che was so angry that he dismounted and pinched his little face hard.

"If you have the guts, tell me."

Huo Yan was only pressed against his waist, his fair cheeks pinched by him, and he was at a disadvantage. But he didn't lose the battle, and his nerves towards Liu Che were numb. He rolled his eyes silently and mumbled, "You win, it's a blue one!"

Liu Che took some effort, lifted the eight-year-old boy, and put him on the horse.

"Then I'll change my request. You put me on Wei Qing's team."

Huo Yan's vision suddenly became higher. He first swallowed a breath, grabbed the iron bar in front of the saddle tightly with his right hand, and then naturally tucked his left hand into his sleeve.

The boy on the horse was very young, but he looked at Liu Che and sighed in an old-fashioned manner, just like Liu Che's father.

"Uncle, can you please not be so hard on money?"

I'm counting on my uncle, the dark horse, to make money. If you snatch the command from my uncle, the game will be over.

His disdain was too obvious, and the commentary was filled with laughter, giving Huo Yan some advice.

[Yanzi, tell me about his tricks and let this piggy know what he is doing.]

[I heard, yes, I heard, that he may have had sex with your aunt and asked your uncle to drive him back.]

[My uncle was twelve or eleven at the time.]

[And he stepped on the seedlings in other people's fields and announced the name of Pingyang Hou to everyone, hahahaha.]

[Why not just make a play about him, foreshadowing the witchcraft disaster? I've got it all planned: a villain exploits a death-deprived emperor's fear of spirits and gods to frame the crown prince. The crown prince, Liu Ju, rises in rebellion, ultimately loses and commits suicide, leaving the entire court in a river of blood. I'd call it a Han Dynasty Battle Royale.]

[Just tell him straight up, the Yellow River is going to burst its banks soon. If you don't take advantage of this opportunity to make some money, you'll be broke!]

[Bok choy, the ground is yellow.]

[Sigh, I don't know if the Ma Yi plot will succeed. I hope we didn't miss anything this time!]

[Keep the operation secret, be careful of the Xiongnu attacking the pavilion①.]

[Che'er also gave the Weishi who traveled to Yanmen County a day off that day.]

[It's alright.]

[I have a bad feeling.]

[Fuck, Ah Yan, the one above is the real God, take note.]

Huo Yan sighed again, "Uncle, if you continue like this, I'll have to tell you straight."

Liu Che raised his eyebrows, having a bad feeling in his heart, and motioned him to speak directly.

Huo Yan took out his white jade abacus, dialed it twice, and reported a few numbers. Liu Che's expression was normal, but Sang Hongyang's expression suddenly changed.

Finally, he whispered directly into Liu Che's ear, and Liu Che's face turned bad.

"So you're saying that Yan has no money!?!"

His little golden sheep is bald!

Huo Yan sat on the horse, unable to get up or down. He could only pretend to be noble and cool, and sighed softly.

"It's just that this failure will cut off the flow of funds and make us short of money for a while."

He paused, afraid that Liu Che didn't understand, and kindly added, "Because your bottomless pit is so good at eating money, I can only use a small amount of money to maintain liquidity. This time, I won't flow, and you don't have to eat."

Liu Che was stunned on the spot, and in the end he could only glare at him hatefully.

"I won't be a problem for you, alright. Raise him up quickly for me."

Huo Yan was stimulated by his words and finally opened his arms, his shoulder-length hair was blown messy by the wind.

"Uncle, it's a little high, please carry me down."

I have no money left, and you’re still trying to steal it!

I'm going to kick you in a minute.

But at this time, Sang Hongyang, who had been complaining every day and came to the horse farm, was no longer tired. He squeezed Liu Che and competed to stretch out his hand.

"Come, let Grandpa hold you. It's okay if you don't have money. Grandpa has money, so we don't have to worry about food."

Liu Che snorted, pretended to smile, and wanted to hug Huo Yan.

"Ayan, come to your uncle and ignore this wild dad!"

The newly appointed father, Sang Hongyang, immediately bowed and said, "Thank you, Your Majesty, for recognizing my identity!"

He looked at Huo Yan, his eyes as gentle as a pool of water, "Ayan, Aung will open a clan temple for you and your brother in a while!"

Liu Che's face turned dark.

"No need, Master Sang, I appreciate your kindness."

Huo Yan was so frightened that he started to talk and didn't even think about kicking anyone. He blew a whistle and called Xiao Piaoliang to his side. Then he slipped away, relying on his strong waist, to the other side of the horse. In full view of everyone, he held Xiao Piaoliang's head and ran towards Huo Qubing.

"Brother, brother, have you assembled your youth team? If not, add me!"

Bro, my most normal bro, I’m going to run towards you.

Huo Qubing rode a pony, a polo club slung over his shoulder, and behind him drooped Su Wu, Cao Xiang, Shi Ye, and a young boy whom Su Wu had summoned. I heard his name was Sima Qian. His father was the Grand Historian in Chang'an, the capital, and he had recently arrived there. His admiration for Dong Zhongshu had led him all the way from home to study with him.

Su Wu praised him and repeatedly vouched for Huo Qubing, and Huo Qubing reluctantly let him join.

Seeing that Huo Yan's face turned pale because of the little beauty, but he still didn't let go and ran as if a dog was chasing him, Huo Qubing controlled the horse with one hand and walked slowly for two steps. When he came in front of Huo Yan, he reached out and grabbed the ball for him and put it in front of him.

"If I don't add you, I will lose."

He went on the field to win. Ayan's hand injury would slow down the progress.

"You can wait for me downstairs."

Huo Yan's fiery heart suddenly turned cold. He glanced resentfully at Su Wu and the others who were following him. When he turned his head and saw Sima Qian, he immediately smiled a standard smile that he would give to strangers.

"I have never seen this brother before."

Su Wu was happy to be introduced.

Huo Yan was excited when he heard Sima Qian's name.

As a historian for generations, he must be very suitable for writing plays.

Of course if there were no barrage, well, he would be very happy.

[Yanzi, he said bad things about his uncle!]

[He entered his uncle and Bingbing into the "Biographies of Favorites"]

[He scolded his uncle and Roumei Shang, no one liked it!]

[He also called his uncle a slave and said Bingbing was arrogant and domineering!]

[He scolded the sick man for being "lucky and rich," "extravagant and unkind," and "arrogant and conceited."]

[Yanyan, mess with him, tear his hands and claws apart!]

[But it's all Liu Che's fault for cutting off the kingdom to make it permanent.]

[My uncle is a close minister, and he was the target of my anger.]

"It turns out to be Brother Sima."

After Huo Yan finished his greeting, he leaned over with a smile and touched the pretty little tiger's head.

Sima Qian was a child of an aristocratic family, and he disdained to respond to the greeting of this slave's son. To be honest, if the teacher had not been obsessed with this child named A Yan, he would not have come.

But now that I see him, he is just a pretty kid.

Sima Qian was just thinking about it when he saw the tiger, which had always been obedient, bared its sharp teeth at him, opened its bloody mouth, and licked its chin.

Is this going to eat him?

After all, he was young, and he was scared to death by his own guess.

Sima Qian was just about to wipe the sweat from his forehead when he saw the child who had teased the tiger about touching it dismount from his horse and slowly walk to the front of his horse, followed by the tiger which was pacing leisurely.

"You actually let it go." The tiger hurts people!

He was about to roar, but a tiger roar drowned out his voice.

Huo Yan placed his hand on the pretty girl's neck, stroking the white hair, with a bright smile that did not reach his eyes.

"Brother Sima, isn't my little tiger really cute? It likes you very much. Do you want to pet it?"

Sima Qian's face turned pale.

Upon seeing this, Cao Xiang immediately wanted to go forward to rescue, but was stopped by Huo Qubing.

Huo Qubing curled his fingers to his lips and whistled loudly.

Xiao Piaoliang immediately stood up, wanting to listen to her father's orders. However, the living father on this side did not let go, so he did not dare to run. He could only look around, and finally continued to lie behind Huo Yan, helping him to scare people.

Huo Qubing remained silent about Xiao Piaoliang's condition and simply asked, "Ayan, do you want me to take you for a walk?"

Huo Yan's revenge was interrupted, and he didn't feel anything.

He waved his hand to refuse Huo Qubing and took Xiao Piaoliang back by himself.

After the tiger left, Sima Qian just breathed a sigh of relief, but then he saw the tiger baring its teeth at him again with a ferocious expression.

And his master, the child named Huo Yan, also turned around and smiled at him politely.

Sima Qian felt as if he was being stared at by two tigers at the same time.

【Author’s words】

Sima Qian: Born during the reigns of Emperor Jing and Emperor Wu of the Western Han Dynasty (There is controversy about the year of Sima Qian's birth. There are many different opinions on the year of his birth. There are two main views in the academic community: one is that Zhang Shoujie, Wang Guowei and others advocated that he was born in the fifth year of Zhongyuan of Emperor Jing of the Han Dynasty (145 BC), and he would be twelve years old now.

Sima Qian was born into a well-off family near Longmen on the Yellow River. His grandfather, Sima Xi, had been exempted from forced labor by Emperor Wen of the Han Dynasty, trading 4,000 dan of millet for the title of Fifth Great Officer (9th Rank, 5th Grade), a title granted to his family in exchange for 4,000 dan of millet.

Young Sima Qian learned calligraphy and reading under the guidance of his father, Sima Tan. By the age of ten, he could read and recite ancient texts such as the Book of Documents, Zuo Zhuan, Guoyu, and Xiben. During the Jianyuan period of Emperor Wu of Han, Sima Tan was transferred to the capital Chang'an to serve as Grand Historian, while Sima Qian remained in his hometown of Longmen, continuing his life of farming, studying, and herding.

When he was a little older, Sima Qian left his hometown of Longmen and came to his father's side in the capital Chang'an.

There is no historical record of when he came to his father's side. I set this up privately. Now that Chang'an is bustling and has great sages, his father took him in.
