Chapter 396- Posting Couplets and Going Home

Chapter 396- Posting Couplets and Going Home

Looking at the scene before him, even if Father Lin wanted to kill another chicken, Qin Buzhu would not agree.

He filmed for such a long time that Shi Feiye finally settled down. If he did it again, he would really feel sorry for Shi Feiye and worried that she wouldn't be able to bear it.

What girl isn't afraid of blood? This is because Lin Laoba is the father-in-law, so it's hard for him to say anything. If it were someone else, Qin Buzhu would have dissed him long ago.

"It's okay. If Chu Shi is not here, I'll take care of this kind of thing again."

Although he had never killed a chicken before, he thought it wouldn't be difficult. Qin Bulu took the job without hesitation. As long as he didn't scare Shi Feiye, everything would be fine.

"Okay, you're really reliable. What should we do now?" Mother Lin nodded with satisfaction.

The chicken was just lying on the ground, motionless. It looked like it had lost its head, but its feathers were not plucked and its internal organs were not processed. Who would come to take care of it?

"Leave the rest to me. I've done it before, so it shouldn't be a problem." Aunt Gu was still frightened and quickly took the job upon herself. If she had to deal with something like this again, her heart would be in turmoil.

"Okay, then I'm relieved. Let's wait for a while. When you're done, call us."

Mother Lin took Master Feiye with her and decided to go drink some tea to calm down.

Qin Bulu repeatedly confirmed that Shi Feiye was alright before heading out to the company with a hint of worry. He couldn't help but feel a bit more distrustful of his father-in-law and mother-in-law.

He appears to be the head of the Lin family, but he's so unreliable when it comes to taking care of his daughter. If it weren't for the clear documentation, he couldn't help but wonder if it was his eldest brother-in-law who had been holding the family together for so many years that prevented it from collapsing.

After Shi Feiye finished her tea, the part-time worker she had hired cleaned up the house. Since Chinese New Year was approaching, she had given her assistants a day off, otherwise there wouldn't have been so much trouble.

After Aunt Gu finished preparing the food, Shi Feiye started to prepare the fried chicken.

When Qin Buzhu came back that night, he saw a bunch of delicious food that Shi Feiye had prepared. These were things that people would prepare during the Chinese New Year outside, but they were usually hard to find and the food they bought back home didn't taste the same.

Lin Qiong and Qin Bulu both ate quite a bit, which frightened Master Feiye enough to make them some tea to help with digestion. Most of the food was fried, so they were told to be careful, lest they get upset stomachs during the New Year holidays, which would be a hassle to see a doctor.

Xiao Si, on the other hand, is quite interested in fried chicken, but has a general inclination towards other foods.

He was still young, so Qin Buzhu usually didn't let him eat too much fried chicken, but kids just love it, and now that he had the chance, he couldn't help but eat a little more.

After many twists and turns, it was New Year's Eve. Everyone in the family finally had their work cut out. They started in the morning, cleaned the house, and then began writing couplets.

After lunch, we started pasting couplets.

Not only did Shi Feiye's house need to be posted, but the Lin family's house also needed to be posted, so everyone ran back and forth, busy as hell.

“Your handwriting is really beautiful.”

Even though Shi Feiye didn't know how to write, he could tell that Qin Buzhu's calligraphy was exceptionally good, powerful and distinctive, worthy of being entered into a competition.

"When I was little, my grandfather always forced me to practice calligraphy. He was worried that I would be unstable at such a young age and that I would lose my composure and make mistakes when I took over the Qin family." Qin Buzhu said with nostalgia in his eyes:

"He was doing this for my own good. He knew he wasn't in good health, so he tried everything he could to pave the way for me. He even tried to tweak his personality to be the one that wouldn't be easily taken advantage of. It was really hard for him."

"Well, I have to thank Grandpa too. If it weren't for his foresight, I'm afraid we wouldn't have met. So, this is all thanks to Grandpa."

Shi Feiye felt that Grandpa Qin's decision to let Qin Buzhu marry her was a very wise one. Otherwise, Qin Buzhu wouldn't have met a cannon fodder, and naturally, he wouldn't have met her either.

"That's true." Qin Bulu didn't mention the real purpose of Old Master Qin asking him to marry Shi Feiye, nor did he mention that Old Master Qin had given him several candidates and asked him to choose.

Let Shi Feiye have a good impression of Grandpa, Qin Bulu thought.

"Let's go, I've finished pasting the last one. I'm going back to clean up and get ready for dinner."

Mother Lin called out to the young couple standing there. They had bought some snacks at the supermarket on their way here. It was getting late, so they could go back and set off some firecrackers before getting ready for dinner.

My daughter said that the whole family will watch the Spring Festival Gala together at 8 o'clock.

"Let's go..." Shi Feiye pulled Qin Bulu up and walked outside.

There was snow on the road that wouldn't melt, and tiny flakes drifted down from the sky like willow catkins, brushing against my exposed skin. But the moment I got in the car, the warmth washed it away.

Qin Buzhu drove very slowly, so he could see passersby hurrying along the road, or strolling along, chatting and laughing.

Shi Feiye looked out the window with a smile, as if she saw people who were happy and full of hope, running towards a better tomorrow.

"After so many years, this is the first time I feel this meaningful during the Chinese New Year."

Mother Lin gathered her hair, looked at Shi Feiye, then at Qin Bulu who was driving, and then at her husband and son, feeling indescribably satisfied.

"Yes, this is the way to celebrate the New Year properly." Father Lin leaned back in the passenger seat with equal satisfaction, feeling that his life was complete.

Shi Feiye took off her gloves and said with a smile, "We have clothes to wear, a car to drive, and delicious food to eat when we get home later. We can also watch the Spring Festival Gala tonight. Our family is together. Nothing could be more perfect than this."

Qin Buzhu raised the corners of his lips, feeling at ease.

The New Year's Eve dinner was rich and delicious. Unlike previous times, it was mostly made from the ingredients that Shi Feiye and the Lin family had prepared in the past few days, making it truly worthy of the word "special."

Everyone put their things in the living room, and the high-end projector projected the video clearly. There was still some time until the Spring Festival Gala.

"It's time to set off firecrackers. I asked before, there are not many people in our community, so we can set off firecrackers. Do you want to go, Aye?"

Father Lin took out the firecrackers he had bought and wanted to go by himself, but after thinking about it, he gave them to Shi Feiye:

"Why don't you go with Xiao Qin? It's a good omen if you go together."

Qin Si was about to say that he wanted to go too, but a look from Qin Buzhu made him shut up.

"Let's go..." Qin Buzhu took the firecrackers and nodded to Shi Feiye, "Let's go."

There were not many people outside. All they could see were the lights on in the villas along the way. Shi Feiye shrank behind Qin Buzhu:

"I don't dare to set off firecrackers. I haven't dared since I was a child. My parents used to set them off. You promised Dad, so you can do it."

"Okay, then I'll do it. You just stand back and don't get hurt." Qin Bulu originally hadn't planned to let her do it.
