Chapter 67 - Story
"But, these snacks aren't that much more expensive at the amusement park, right?" Qin Si said uncertainly. He hadn't been to the amusement park for a long time, and he hadn't paid attention to the prices when he went there before. However, he had heard his uncle say that no matter how much the price goes up, there is an upper limit. It's just snacks, how much can the price increase?
Shi Feiye gave him a 'hehe' expression, opened the backpack on his back and took out a bag of biscuits: "I bought these biscuits at the supermarket for ten yuan. You can go to the amusement park later to see how much they sell for."
"Just take a look." Qin Si said disapprovingly, but he still turned around and let Shi Feiye stuff the snacks into his backpack. Only then did the three of them officially set off.
Qin Buzhu drove everyone there. On the way, Shi Feiye had nothing better to do, so she told Qin Si a story. Of course, she couldn't tell a third-grade kid her own story, so after much deliberation, she decided to tell him a fairy tale, the classic "Cinderella."
The story itself wasn't very long, taking less than ten minutes to tell. Qin Si seemed to listen attentively and gave a very enthusiastic review:
"Your speech is clear and logical, with dramatic twists and turns. It's not as good as a professional's, but it's okay. Ah Ye, your Mandarin is quite good."
What the hell, this little brat actually talks to her in a critic's tone?
"Have you been listening carefully to my story? I know Cinderella is a classic, and you've probably heard or seen it before, but Confucius said, 'Reviewing the past allows us to learn new things,' so you should have gained something new."
Qin Si nodded seriously. "You're right, but I've thought about this story so many times that there's nothing much to think about. The girls in our class were all moved by the love story between Cinderella and the prince. But under my uncle's guidance, I've realized that even though Cinderella is Cinderella, she's still the earl's daughter and a perfect match for the prince. So this is a love story of equal status, going through many twists and turns, and ultimately a happy ending."
Shi Feiye snorted and laughed: "Okay, then tell me, if you were Cinderella, living in a family like that, what would you do? Would you always be kind and endure the torture of your stepmother, or would you find a way to complain to your father, or fight back yourself?"
Qin Si's thinking was quite clear: "Complaining to her father is definitely not an option. If he cared about her, Cinderella wouldn't have been tortured for so long. Fighting back isn't a good idea either. If it's too obvious, treating the elders poorly, her reputation will be ruined and she won't be able to get married. She can't run away either. A girl who runs away will also have a ruined reputation and be unable to get married. So, the only thing she can do is endure it."
"You're so young, but your thinking is quite clear. According to you, Cinderella's fate is predetermined?" Shi Feiye asked him deliberately.
Qin Si shook his head and looked at Shi Feiye with his big, cute eyes. "Of course not. It seems that the only thing we can do is endure it, but there are actually many things we can do. For example, when it comes to reputation, it's wrong to treat elders badly, but it's also wrong for a stepmother to treat her stepdaughter so badly. The stepmother has two other daughters. She also has to think about whether her own daughters will be unwanted if her reputation is bad."
Qin Buzhu was in the driver's seat, looking through the rearview mirror at the two people sitting behind him. When he heard Qin Si's words, he nodded almost imperceptibly.
