Although Zhang Daniu and Zhang Erniu separated, the relationship between the two families became much more harmonious because they rented land together.
Usually the two brothers and their two wives were busy working in the fields, leaving Grandma Jin the only one at home. They cooked meals and ate together.
Grandma Jin hasn't been feeling well lately, so Mrs. Tang and Mrs. Zhang take turns cooking at home.
After dinner today, Tang and Zhang were cleaning up in the kitchen, while Zhang Daniu and Zhang Erniu were fetching water in the backyard.
Grandma Jin couldn't sit still, so she picked up a broom and swept the fallen leaves in front of the door. From a distance, she saw a figure walking towards her.
I squinted my eyes and looked for a while, and when I got closer I realized it was Song Yuehua, holding Xiaobao.
"Girl, why are you so free today?"
Song Yuehua smiled and replied, "Bring Xiaobao out for a walk after dinner."
Grandma Jin took Xiaobao's hand and said with a smile, "Let's go around and get familiar with it. When you grow up, you can come to the village to play with grandma by yourself."
"Come in and sit down!" Grandma Jin called the two sisters.
Song Yuehua shook her head slightly and said, "Thank you, Grandma Jin. I won't sit this time. We still have to go to the village."
"Girl, wait for me." Grandma Jin said and quickly walked into the house.
When she came out again, she was holding a small oil-paper bag in her hand.
Grandma Jin stuffed the paper bag into Xiaobao's arms and said, "I heard that these are pastries from the county. Let's give them to the little kid to sweeten his mouth."
This small package is probably not cheap.
Song Yuehua took it and said, "Just try it, you can keep the rest for yourself."
Grandma Jin held Song Yuehua's hand and said, "Girl, don't despise me. This is a little gift from me."
Looking at the loving old lady, Song Yuehua felt warm in her heart and accepted it. "Thank you, Grandma Jin."
Not far from Zhangjia is the entrance to the village.
Song Yuehua said to Xiaobao, "This is our village. From here to our home, remember?"
"Stop." Xiaobao nodded seriously.
Song Yuehua didn't take it seriously and walked back with Xiaobao in her arms.
At this time, most of the villagers had already eaten. Some people gathered together with teapots and chatted about everything under the sun.
Even if the farthest place these people have been to is the county town, it does not affect their imagination.
In some houses with large courtyards, the whole family would sit in the courtyard, fanning themselves with palm-leaf fans, doing odd jobs, and chatting and laughing.
When Song Yuehua passed by Zhou's house, Lin stopped her and asked Xiaobao to come in and see the baby.
Zhang's baby was just over two months old, with round eyes.
Xiaobao came over and stretched out his little finger, touched the little baby's fingers, then turned around and hugged Song Yuehua.
"What's the matter, Xiaobao?" Song Yuehua asked softly.
Zhang smiled and said, "Don't be afraid, Xiaobao, my little baby doesn't bite."
Lin brought two bowls of egg and sugar water, gave one to Song Yuehua, and took one for herself to feed Xiaobao.
At Zhou's house, Song Yuehua was not polite either. While they were drinking sugared water, Lin talked about Zhou Xiaohu's thoughts on cooking at home.
"Although my father-in-law doesn't say it, he knows it in his heart. I have discussed it with his father. Even if he can't study, it's okay for him to have some other skills. At least he won't starve to death." Lin sighed.
Although Zhou Xiaohu talks loudly, he is really average when it comes to cooking.
It would be good if he could have some cooking skills like Xie Wenwu, but what can he achieve with his skills?
Just then, Zhou Ergui knocked on the door and came in, holding a plate of cakes and saying, "Dad brought it here, saying that this is Xiaobao's first visit, so we have to treat him well."
Song Yuehua quickly stood up and said, "I'll go say hello to Grandpa Zhou."
Lin brought a snack to Xiaobao and said, "Go ahead. Xiaobao is with me. Don't worry."
"Thank you, Aunt Lin." Song Yuehua thanked her and left.
Zhou Li was sitting next to the oil lamp, squinting at the book in his hand and listening to Chen Shu reciting beside him.
As soon as Song Yuehua reached the door, she stopped. It was Chen Shu who heard the noise and spoke to Zhou Lizheng.
"Girl, come in and sit down." Zhou Lizheng said as he put away his book.
Song Yuehua was a little embarrassed. "I wanted to say hello to you, but I didn't expect to disturb Xiaoshu's recitation."
Zhou Lizheng waved his hand and said, "I'm old now, and I can't help him."
"According to Master Yi, Xiaoshu has good talent and is expected to enter Class B next year. You don't have to worry about him." Song Yuehua said.
"That's great," Zhou Lizheng said with a smile.
The two talked about what happened in Dongshan for a while before Song Yuehua took Xiaobao away from Zhou's house.
When passing by the school, Song Yuehua heard Dabao's voice. She carried Xiaobao in and took a look. She saw Xie Wenwu, Xiaoyu, Xiaoyu, and Zhang Dandan playing hide-and-seek with Dabao.
Hua Baoer and Hua Xiyu were standing aside, watching them play together, with envy on their faces.
"Hua Baoer, come here with us." Zhang Dandan shouted.
Hua Baoer let out a cry and ran over, taking Hua Xiyu with her.
"Xiaobao, you want to go too?" Song Yuehua put Xiaobao on the ground and let her play with the other children.
Master Yi walked slowly to Song Yuehua's side and said, "Miss, don't you want to play?"
"Master, I have grown up..." Song Yuehua said helplessly as she looked at her relatives and friends in front of her.
A few days later, Song Yuehua received a letter from Damao.
Because when we invited Madam Nie before, we didn't think carefully enough about the overall situation. If Madam Nie wasn't such a fussy person, the plan would have been ruined.
So later Song Yuehua wrote a letter to Damao, asking him to find out all the details of the expenses that might be required to enter Qingyun Embroidery Workshop.
Given Song Yuehua's poverty in her past and present lives, she could not imagine what other expenses she would have.
