Chapter 27 New Life

The next day, the people who were preparing the banquet arrived early.

As expected, they were all professionals. They brought all the ingredients, utensils and materials themselves. Except for a few bundles of firewood, not a single grain of salt was used, which was something from the host's family.

The dishes on the table were not outstanding, but there was nothing wrong with them either. They were all common dishes on farmers' tables.

Song Yuehua arranged the Xie family, Zhou family, Zhang family, and Grandma Wang to sit in the main room, and two tables were just enough for them.

In the countryside, gifts are casual, just to show their appreciation. Song Yuehua didn't think about how much money she could get, but the procedure still had to be followed.

Everything was going smoothly and the dishes were almost served, but who knew that Boss Song would come over with his wife Liu.

Everyone at the banquet pricked up their ears, waiting to see the show.

As a result, after paying the gift money, Boss Song found two empty seats and sat down, and then he didn't say a word.

It was as if he was an insignificant person who just came to have a meal.

Some people were disappointed, while others gathered together to whisper to each other, and of course they were talking about the troubles in the Song family.

Song Yuehua heaved a sigh of relief after seeing this situation. She was not afraid of these people, but she did not want to ruin the atmosphere on the auspicious day of her moving and wedding banquet.

The meal ended successfully with wine.

After the banquet host packed up everything, Song Yuehua paid them two taels of silver. Then they put their things on the ox cart and left in a hurry.

Carpenter Yang also came to the banquet today, and delivered a wardrobe, a table, and a round tabletop that he had ordered from him.

Before leaving, Song Yuehua also gave him one and a half taels of silver.

After sending everyone away.

Song Yuehua wanted to invite the Xie family to have dinner, but Xie Quan was busy delivering goods and Xie Feng also had something to do.

Only Wenwu and Xiaoyu stayed.

Before leaving, Xie Quan specifically said to Song Yuehua, "Miss Song is so good at archery, it's a pity that she missed out on both civil and military skills, but it's also thanks to her that she's good at cooking."

Just don’t blame me!

Song Yuehua said sincerely, "Everyone has their own way. It's good that Uncle Xie Quan can let it go. I will continue to teach archery. How far you can go depends on Wenwu himself."

Xie Quan nodded.

"Master, what delicious food are you going to make tonight?" Xie Wenwu ran over, shouting, without any expression at all.

Xie Quan hid his disgusted look and said to Song Yuehua, "I have something to do and I'll leave first. I'll trouble Miss Song to take care of Xiaowen and Xiaoyu."

"I just arrived, why did Dad leave?"

Xie Wenwu just asked out of curiosity and immediately started to worry about dinner.

After going out, Xie Quan looked back again and saw Song Yuehua talking to Xie Wenwu with a smile on her face.

The tiger skull that was delivered to his house yesterday had an arrow pierced through the middle of the bone.

This requires not only strength but also precision. He is only 10 years old, but he has such talent.

Xie Quan didn't dare to think about whether he would have the determination and courage to shoot this arrow if he were facing the big beast.

It's such a pity. If this girl could learn a little bit of the skills of literature and martial arts, it would be no problem for her to become a hunter.

Xie Quan returned to the ox cart and sighed heavily.

"Brother?" Xie Feng turned around and asked while sitting in the carriage.

"Second brother, thank goodness it's you." Xie Quan looked up blankly, his eyes looking into the void, as if muttering, "If I were standing next to Miss Song at that time, I would definitely..."

Xie Feng glanced in the direction of the house, turned around and left in his ox cart.

That evening.

Song Yuehua called Grandma Wang, and there were five people in total. They cooked five dishes, including cured pork ribs with carrots, stir-fried pork with green peppers, cold-mixed black fungus, spicy baby white rabbit, and a big pot of boiled fish.

Looking at these dishes, Granny Wang felt a little distressed, "Girl, you should live frugally."

Xie Wenwu on the side answered quickly, "Mother-in-law, Master and Xiaoyu are not in good health, they need to eat something good."

After hearing this, Granny Wang felt something was wrong, but she couldn't put her finger on it.

Song Yuehua was already used to this, and just said, "Don't worry, mother-in-law, I know what's going on."

After dinner, I can finally take a shower.

The boiling water pot was delivered today. The two little girls have been coveting this bathtub for a long time.

After Song Yuehua helped them fill the bowl with hot water, Xiaoyu and Xiaoyu soaked in it together. Their noises could be heard even in the kitchen through two walls.

After everyone finished showering, Song Yuehua also took a nice bath. After being here for so long, she was finally clean.

The brother and sister will stay here tonight and have to sew a new quilt.

Originally there were two quilts in the house, one for Xiaoyu and Xiaoyu, and one for the Song Yuehua twins. The one that was sewn was for Xie Wenwu.

The fabrics and cotton were ready-made, so Xiaoyu asked Granny Wang for help, and the two of them sewed a large quilt together.

Xie Wenwu held the quilt and went to the room where the others had lived before. He spread the quilt on the bamboo bed and went to sleep.

The quilt is made big, half for padding and half for covering, just right.

In the next few days, Song Yuehua turned over the vegetable plots in the front and back yards of the house, then scattered vegetable seeds and watered them.

The land here has been cultivated, so all it needs to be done is to hoe it. Song Yuehua has enough strength to do it, regardless of anything else.

Vegetables are planted inside and outside the walls, so we can eat fresh vegetables even in winter.

Over the next month.

Song Yuehua went up the mountain to chop firewood every day, and also collected dozens of kilograms of white radishes and cabbages from the village. She made them all into sour radishes and spicy cabbages and pickled them in a small jar she had bought earlier.

After pickling the vegetables, I went to the bamboo craftsman’s house and bought a fish basket.

Song Yuehua had been thinking about the pond where she dug kudzu roots for a long time.

The pond is located deep in the Bugui Mountain. Villagers usually don't come here, so you can fill a basket with just a few scoops of fish from the pond.
