Chapter 41

Chapter 41

Tang Mitang was sitting in the pavilion reading a book. When she saw Zhou Xuanqing coming back, she quickly got up to greet him.

Seeing Zhou Xuanqing's tired look, he quickly held her hand and took Chang Xi's place and asked, "What's wrong with the emperor?"

"I have a bit of a headache." Zhou Xuanqing said, holding Tang Mitang's hand that was taking her pulse, and took her towards the main hall.

Chang Xi was left behind, looking at the two people's backs with innocent eyes, as if he had fallen out of favor...

As soon as Zhou Xuanqing returned to the dormitory, he couldn't help but lie down on the recliner. He looked at Tang Mitang uncomfortably and said in a low voice, "Tang Mitang, my head hurts so much. Give me some medicine~"

Seeing her frown, Tang Mitang held her head with both hands and massaged it, saying helplessly, "There's no medicine, I'll give you a massage. You haven't recovered yet, so don't overwork yourself. It doesn't matter if some things are delayed for two days. Health is the most important thing!"

Tang Mitang pulled the hairpin out of her hair, and her jet-black hair hung down with a faint fragrance.

Tang Mitang glanced at Zhou Xuanqing's amber eyes, touched her forehead, and looked at Chang Xi who had followed in with some dissatisfaction and said, "Chang Xi, did you give the emperor the hangover soup this morning?"

Chang Xi was speechless when he heard this, he had forgotten.

"Chang Xi, do you know that you can't take a shower or wash your hair right after waking up in the morning?"

Chang Xi bit his lower lip and shook his head in confusion.

It's over. The emperor took a bath this morning... and his hair wasn't dry yet...

"Chang Xi, you're really great! It would be fine if the emperor didn't know, but you actually didn't care about anything! What if he develops a chronic illness in the future? You couldn't even tell that the emperor had a fever and was feeling unwell!"

Tang Mitang spoke one sentence after another, patting Chang Xi and Zhou Xuanqing.

Seeing that both of them felt a little aggrieved, he sighed and said, "Okay, Chang Xi, go to the Imperial Hospital and boil a bowl of medicine for treating typhoid fever and send it over quickly."

"Yes." Chang Xi no longer cared about Tang Mitang's attitude. He quickly dodged and rushed directly to the Imperial Hospital.

It's his fault that the emperor is sick! The emperor was already weak and his blood and qi hadn't recovered. He didn't even look after the emperor this morning.

Chang Xi felt extremely guilty. As she was boiling the medicine, she couldn't stop crying when she thought about the suffering Zhou Xuanqing had endured.

Tang Mitang looked at Zhou Xuanqing, reluctant to leave her alone, so she could only help hold her down, then took a blanket and covered her.

Zhou Xuanqing looked up at her and said slowly, "Tang Mitang, thank you~"

"What are you thanking me for? You are my friend, and I don't want you to be in bad health." Tang Mitang said with a smile, looking down at her.

Zhou Xuanqing blinked sleepily, nodded, and couldn't help falling asleep.

When Song Henian came happily, Chang Xi had just delivered the medicine.

Seeing that Zhou Xuanqing was asleep, neither of them dared to disturb her. They could only signal Tang Mitang with their eyes to let her come out.

When Tang Mitang saw Chang Xi bringing the medicine, she pinched Zhou Xuanqing's shoulder and called her softly.

"Your Majesty~Drink the medicine~"

As soon as Zhou Xuanqing opened her eyes, Xuan Jiu appeared, knelt in front of her and handed her a letter.

Zhou Xuanqing sat up and opened it to take a look. His expression did not change, but his eyes were slightly cold.

"I am always happy that Xuan Lan'er, Ze Hua, and Lu Di have entered the palace."

"Yes." Chang Xi said, and ran out without stopping.

"Someone, come and change my clothes." After Zhou Xuanqing finished speaking, the palace maids outside the door rushed in.

Tang Mitang was holding the medicine and saw Zhou Xuanqing walking towards the inner room, so she hurriedly followed him.

Song Henian was left outside, sitting in a chair and waiting leisurely.

He came here today to leave the palace.

He hasn't seen Zhou Xuanqing since she was injured. He stayed in the harem every day. After careful consideration, he decided to leave the palace. A man should have ambitions and should go out.

He doesn't want to be a coward anymore.

Zhou Xuanqing changed into casual clothes, casually tied up his hair, took the bowl of medicine handed to him by Tang Mitang, and drank it.

"Tang Mitang, is there any medicine to keep people calm?"

"Ah? Yes, did something happen?" Tang Mitang looked at her in confusion.

Zhou Xuanqing nodded and said, "The poppy problem hasn't been solved yet, and Cheng Zhixuan has appeared at the border. I'm worried that he'll repeat history and attack the Great Zhou troops first, just like he did six years ago. Please prepare more medicine these days. Thank you for your hard work."

After Zhou Xuanqing finished speaking, he stood up and walked out.

Tang Mitang frowned slightly. Xiaoyi had forgotten about Cheng Zhixuan, the yandere, for the past two days. It seemed she would need to find her master to study this together.

"By the way, Tang Mitang, give me a pill. It's the kind that makes you look weak but doesn't harm your body."

Zhou Xuanqing had turned back at some point and was looking at Tang Mitang with his head tilted.

Tang Mitang nodded and ran to her room to find medicine. She didn't know what Zhou Xuanqing wanted to do, but since he said so, she could just go get it herself.

When Song Henian saw Zhou Xuanqing coming out, he knelt on the ground with a thud and said with a determined face, "Your Majesty, I want to leave the palace."

Zhou Xuanqing looked him over, stepped forward, raised his hand to help him up, and said, "Go now that you've figured it out. Don't embarrass me."

"Yes, if Your Majesty misses me, I will come back to accompany you." Song Henian looked at Zhou Xuanqing's face and said jokingly.

Zhou Xuanqing shook his head, patted his shoulder and said, "No need, get out of here."

"Okay." Song Henian said with a smile, turned around and walked out. His face was filled with dissatisfaction and sadness the moment he turned around.

He let it go. It was because the emperor was a woman as beautiful as moonlight that he wanted to do something. Perhaps after the emperor abdicated, he would still have the capital to be in front of the princess.

Tang Mitang had just handed the medicine to Zhou Xuanqing when Zhou Erlan and the other two arrived.

Zhou Xuanqing threw the letter to him and asked him to read it himself. He sat on the chair, tapping the table with his fingers.

After reading it, Zhou Erlan handed it to Lu Zehua and Lu Di, and looked at Zhou Xuanqing with a serious expression.

"Chang Xi, Mi Tang, go out and keep watch."

Seeing that Zhou Erlan seemed to be hesitant to speak, Zhou Xuanqing turned to speak to Tang Mitang and the others.

Tang Mitang nodded and obediently went out to find Jueming. As the saying goes, the less you know about royal secrets, the longer you live.

They discussed until dinner time, then walked out slowly together.
