The vegetarian food at Foguang Temple truly lived up to its reputation. Even Sanya, who loves meat, exclaimed, "Mom, I never knew vegetarian food could be so delicious!"
"It's delicious, but I still think my godmother's cooking is even better, hehe." Yuan Qiu chewed something, speaking indistinctly, but still trying to coax Yang Cui.
"If you like it, eat more. Soak your feet properly later, or they'll hurt tomorrow." Yang Cui used the other end of her chopsticks to serve the children some food.
Cen Xiao immediately grabbed the bowl and intercepted it, shamelessly saying, "They're big kids now, let them take it themselves."
"Knife Eight, Knife Three" means I can't bear to look.
Yuan Qiu looked at him with disdain: "How childish!"
Cen Xiao tapped him on the head with his chopsticks: "You have no manners. I think you're asking for a beating. After you finish eating, go for a run with Dao Ba and run two laps around the temple."
"What does this have to do with me?" Dao Ba felt completely innocent, getting caught in the crossfire without saying a word.
Yang Cui: "It's not good to exercise right after eating. You've had a long day, why run around? Just rest well and we'll get up early tomorrow to watch the sunrise."
"Godmother is the best. Actually, my feet are a little sore." Yuan Qiu looked pitiful.
Yang Cui was naturally anxious upon hearing this: "After we finish eating, soak your feet and I'll massage them for you."
Yuan Qiu grinned and said, "Thank you, godmother, but there's no need for the rubbing. I'm all grown up now, I'm a man, and it's not proper for men and women to be intimate."
After saying that, she raised her eyebrows at Cen Xiao triumphantly, as if to say, "See, my godmother still cares about me the most."
Cen Xiao remained calm in the face of his nephew's provocation.
But Dao Ba and Dao San knew that their young master was in for trouble, and that there was going to be a good show to watch.
Sure enough, after dinner, Cen Xiao took Yuan Qiu to practice, citing the need for perseverance in training and the importance of developing good habits.
When Cen Xiao offered to take her to practice martial arts, Yuan Qiu knew that this stingy man was probably going to torture her again, but she was a man and had to save face, so she absolutely couldn't back down!
As a result, Yuan Qiu was unsurprisingly humiliated.
“It’s rare for us to get out and have fun, so it’s okay if we don’t practice for a day. But I see that Qiuqiu is exhausted. Aren’t you being too strict?”
Despite being exhausted and in pain, Yuan Qiu gritted her teeth and persevered without uttering a sound, which pained Yang Cui.
"It's tough and tiring now, but it'll be easier later. What's a little hardship for a boy?" Cen Xiao said, pressing his body against hers. "Wife, shouldn't you show more concern for your husband, hmm?"
After saying that, Cen Xiao grabbed her hand, feeling its hardness and passion.
"This is a sacred Buddhist site..."
"Buddha isn't here..."
After a long and tiring day, Yang Cui drifted off to sleep after a good workout.
Cen Xiao tidied himself up before holding Yang Cui and falling asleep.
Suddenly, Cen Xiao heard a rustling sound. The sound grew closer and closer, and he judged that at least twelve people were coming, and each of them was a martial arts expert!
This is definitely aimed at them!
Cen Xiao woke Yang Cui up, shoved her under the bed, and warned her, "Whatever you do, don't come out!"
Just as Yang Cui was completely bewildered, a group of men in black burst through the door: "Kill!"
Yang Cui was instantly wide awake!
He huddled under the bed, too afraid to move!
Who sent the man in black? Could it be Lin Shih-kang?
Hearing the clanging of swords and seeing pairs of feet constantly shifting positions on the ground, Yang Cui was both frightened and worried. She was worried that Cen Xiao would be no match for so many hands, and she was also worried about the safety of the children.
The fighting grew more intense, and Yang Cui guessed that Dao Ba and Dao San had most likely joined the battle.
Soon, the fighting subsided, and Yang Cui heard Cen Xiao shout, "Don't let them escape! Leave them alive!"
It seems the other side couldn't win and was trying to run away!
Yang Cui then crawled out from under the bed and saw the corpses lying haphazardly in the room. Her legs went weak. This successor of socialism, who had grown up under the red flag, had never seen such a bloody scene before.
When Cen Xiao saw Yang Cui crawl out, he immediately went over and hugged her, gently comforting her, "Don't be afraid, it's alright now!"
With him around, Yang Cui felt inexplicably at ease.
"Are you alright?" Yang Cui asked with concern, holding Cen Xiao's hand. "Where are the children?"
"Don't worry, everything's fine. The children are with Su Yutang! One of them ran away, but Dao San went after him. Don't be afraid, I'm here."
The commotion caused by Yang Cui had already alerted the pilgrims living in the surrounding courtyards. When You Xinyan heard the fighting, she was so happy that she almost burst into laughter.
After the fighting subsided, she prepared to go and take a look. She wanted to mock Yang Cui mercilessly, and then show her gentle and considerate side, making Cen Xiao fall at her feet. Once she was firmly established as the general's wife, she would then properly deal with that brat Yuan Qiu!
You Xinyan opened the door cheerfully, but little did she expect that instead of becoming a laughingstock, she herself...
Worried that the children would be frightened, Yang Cui immediately put on her coat to check on them. She thought the little devils would be crying their eyes out, but to her surprise, they were completely unfazed. It turned out that only Yang Cui was afraid from beginning to end!
Su Yutang told Yang Cui that as soon as the fighting started, she stood guard at the door of the children's room, and the assassins never came near them.
So the children only knew that bad people had come outside, but they didn't see the bloody scene and therefore didn't know how dangerous it had just been.
After listening to Su Yutang's words, Yang Cui was convinced that this group of people were after her or Cen Xiao. Their target was clear, and they even knew which room they were staying in. Perhaps it was intentional to arrange for them to be placed in such a remote courtyard! There must be an inside agent in Foguang Temple!
Or perhaps, inviting me to Foguang Temple was a conspiracy!
