The brother and sister hugged each other tightly, their excitement barely contained. At this moment, a woman suddenly walked down from the dragon chariot.
The woman was wearing a long red satin dress with large areas of gold threads woven on the surface. Under the sunlight, the dress sparkled with dazzling light, as if her entire body was shrouded in a layer of golden light.
Her hair was piled high, with an exquisite oriental pearl hairpin in the bun, which made her face look even more radiant and charming. However, her expression was very sharp, and her beautiful eyes looked straight at the brother and sister in front of her.
"Dabao, Nianchu, come here."
The woman's voice was clear and firm, carrying an authority that could not be ignored.
Hearing the voice, Dabao hurriedly took Nianchu's hand and walked timidly to Jin Linlin.
"Second aunt, I'm back."
Dabao lowered his head and spoke softly, seeming to be a little afraid of his second aunt.
Jin Linlin looked at Dabao in front of her, raised her hand and gently touched his head:
"How could you sneak onto the ship by yourself? You're only five years old. Who would be responsible if something happened? I gave Mo Qi and Mo Ba to you so that they could protect you, not so that you could take risks alone."
Having said that, there was a clear hint of blame and dissatisfaction in Jin Linlin's tone.
After that, she picked up Dabao without mercy, put him on her knees, then raised her hand and slapped Dabao's butt hard with a "slap".
The beating was not light. Dabao burst into tears in pain and kept begging for mercy: "Second Aunt, I was wrong. I won't dare to do it again. Wuuwuwu..."
Nianchu was so frightened that tears welled up in her eyes and she started crying too:
"Mother, please stop hitting my brother."
Jin Linlin paused her movements, but her eyes remained stern:
"Do you know what's wrong?"
Dabao sobbed and said:
"I shouldn't have disobeyed Second Aunt and sneaked on board, causing her to worry."
Jin Linlin then put Dabao down and said seriously:
"I'll let you off this time, but if there's a next time, I won't let you off easily."
At this time, the old nanny beside came forward and said:
"Your Majesty, the children also know they are wrong. They have been exhausted from the journey. Let them rest first."
Jin Linlin nodded and said to Dabao and Nianchu, "Go and ask the maids to help you wash and change into clean clothes. Come to my room for dinner later."
Dabao and Nianchu nodded obediently, holding hands and following the maid into the carriage.
Jiang Zhixu, Jiang Shuyan and Cao Jiao saw the interaction between their mother and the other two, and couldn't help but feel an indescribable emotion and sadness in their hearts. Tears flowed like a flood that broke through the dam, instantly blurring their vision.
Jiang Zhixu's eyes were completely captivated by the enchanting woman in red. Her every smile, every move, was deeply engraved in his mind. Day and night, he missed her, and her figure was the only thing that haunted his dreams.
At this moment, Jiang Zhixu stared at Jin Linlin infatuatedly, as if time had stopped at this moment. He murmured, "Linlin..."
Cao Jiao finally met Jin Linlin, her once gentle and playful best friend and sister-in-law, but now she had become like a sword, sharp and majestic, making people afraid to approach her easily. Her change made Cao Jiao feel both unfamiliar and distressed.
The three men were just about to step forward and want to say a few words to Jin Linlin, but Jin Linlin just glanced at them lightly out of the corner of her eye, without even giving them a smile, and got on the carriage without looking back.
Chunxue, standing beside Jin Linlin, naturally noticed the three of them. Her expression changed slightly when she saw His Majesty's cold expression. She averted her gaze awkwardly, then quickly mounted her horse and shouted, "Move the sedan chair and return to the palace!"
Following this order, the originally crowded crowd quickly made way for a wide path. People knelt on both sides of the path and shouted in unison:
"Your Majesty, long live your Majesty!"
Seeing this, Jiang Zhixu felt anxious. He subconsciously tried to break free from Cao Jiao and Jiang Shuyan's obstruction and quickly chased after them.
However, Cao Jiao and Jiang Shuyan held him tightly to prevent him from acting impulsively.
"Brother, don't act rashly. Second sister-in-law is surrounded by many guards. If there is a conflict now, we won't even be able to enter the city gate."
Cao Jiao also advised:
"There are many opportunities. Since representatives from various vassal states have come, she will definitely summon them. Don't be impatient."
After saying that, they found that Jin Linlin's dragon chariot had stopped not far from them, and her voice came to their ears:
"Cao Jiao, I raised Dabao from childhood and treated him like my own son. How dare you and your wife let him suffer any injustice? Fortunately, he returned safely this time.
If anything happens to him, I'll chop you up."
Cao Jiao was hurt by her emotionless words and almost fell to the ground: "Your Majesty, please calm down. It was our negligence. We will take good care of Dabao in the future."
Jiang Shuyan hadn't expected her to say such hurtful words. Jiang Zhixu was anxious and angry, but he could only suppress his anger and stood aside, clenching his fists.
Jin Linlin's face was as gloomy as water, a sneer appeared on the corner of her mouth, and she snorted coldly:
"No need! The reason I let him go back is simply because he is still young and needs to grow up under the care of his parents.
However, you only care about your second child and don't care about your first child's feelings at all. Do you really think that I will let him go as easily as I did last time?"
After saying that, Jin Linlin didn't even look at them again. The dragon chariot slowly moved forward, pushed by the attendants.
