Chapter 121 Return to the Capital

"Dabao inherited your genes in every way, but you didn't like him and made him suffer so much. Now that you know he's very strong and his kung fu is outstanding, you regret it, don't you?"

These words hit Cao Jiao's heart like a heavy hammer, making her feel heartbroken.

She couldn't help but recall the various ways she had neglected and ignored Dabao in the past, and her heart was filled with regret and self-blame. Such an excellent child, but she pushed him away again and again, his heart must have been chilled to the bone.

Time flies like an arrow.

The day finally arrived when the army returned to the capital.

The people of Cangwu City poured into the streets early to welcome the triumphant army. Men and women lined the streets, flowers in hand, beaming with smiles, eagerly awaiting the heroes' return.

In the distance, a neatly-organized team slowly approached. The soldiers were all in high spirits, their steps vigorous, and their armor gleamed brightly in the sunlight, as if symbolizing their glory and courage.

At the front of the team was none other than Jiang Zhixu. He rode a tall, mighty steed, his posture as straight as a pine tree, his eyes as resolute as an eagle's, and he exuded an unparalleled heroic spirit.

The cheers of the surrounding people rose one after another, resounding through the sky. Amid the cheers of the people, the army continued to advance, heading straight for the palace.

Because the emperor wanted to hold a grand celebration banquet in the palace for these brave soldiers to commend their outstanding military achievements.

Jin Linlin led a large number of officials, dressed in gorgeous court robes, and waited at the gate of the palace early in the morning for the triumphant soldiers returning.

This is undoubtedly a supreme honor and the highest tribute to these brave warriors.

When the army finally arrived at the gate of the palace, everyone knelt down and shouted in unison:

"Long live the emperor!"

The voice was as loud as thunder, resounding through the sky, fully demonstrating everyone's awe and loyalty to the emperor.

Jin Linlin smiled, nodded with satisfaction, and then slowly spoke:

"All officers and men, please stand. This time, you have achieved a resounding victory. This is truly a blessing for the country and the people! I am deeply pleased."

Seeing this, Jiang Zhixu quickly stood up first, clasped his fists and saluted, saying loudly:

"Your Majesty is wise. This is our duty and not worth mentioning."

His voice was sonorous and powerful, revealing a heroic spirit.

Jin Linlin glanced at the many soldiers and finally landed on Jiang Zhixu. She smiled and said:

"General Jiang, your military exploits this time are outstanding. I will definitely reward you handsomely."

Jiang Zhixu quickly expressed his gratitude: "Thank you, Your Majesty, for your grace!"

Jin Linlin continued:

"All the soldiers have worked hard and made great contributions. I have prepared a celebration banquet in the palace. Everyone, please follow me into the palace."

The celebration banquet was ablaze with lights, filled with singing and dancing. Court musicians played beautiful music, while dancers danced gracefully around the table, creating a visual and auditory feast for everyone.

The table was filled with all kinds of delicacies, and there was an endless supply of fine wine and food.

Jin Linlin frequently stood up to toast the soldiers, thanking them for their contributions to the country. Jiang Zhixu and others also raised their glasses and drank heartily, creating an extremely lively atmosphere.

The party didn't disperse until 11pm.

Hall of Mental Cultivation

Jin Linlin returned early. She wasn't going to have a good time with them, so she made an excuse to leave after toasting. Just as they were about to go to bed, Haruyuki came in and reported:

"Your Majesty, would you like to see the Queen?"

She sat back down at the desk and nodded, asking Haruyuki to invite the person in.

She looked at Jiang Zhixu and saluted her:

"Get up! Why don't you go back to the palace and rest?"

Jiang Zhixu took out something wrapped in cloth from his arms, slowly walked over and placed it on the table.

"So mysterious? What is it?"

Jiang Zhixu looked at his wife's bright and charming eyes, walked around and directed her hands from behind, and opened the cloth bag:

"It's the Imperial Seal. I snatched it from a prince during this campaign against the Allied Forces."

Jin Linlin widened her eyes and looked at the jade seal that symbolized supreme power, her heart filled with shock.

"This is something of extraordinary significance, and you actually brought it back to me."

Jiang Zhixu hugged her tightly and whispered in her ear:

"This world should have been yours. With this imperial seal, your position will be more secure."

Jin Linlin leaned in his arms, feeling his warmth, her heart was moved and her eyes were filled with love.

"Have Jiang Shuyan and Erbao been caught?"

Jiang Zhixu held his wife in his arms and sat on the Luohan bed beside him, sighing:

"No need to arrest him. He surrendered directly with the Yan civil and military officials. There was no fighting. I brought them back. I heard that Cao Jiao was imprisoned in the Dali Temple by you, so I imprisoned them as well."

Jin Linlin slowly closed her eyes, curled up in his warm embrace like a lazy cat, and let out a soft sigh:

"Hmm... That woman Cao Jiao actually used Dabao and Nianchu to threaten me. How despicable! I can't kill them, and I can't keep them. It's really a headache!"

Jiang Zhixu listened quietly to Jin Linlin's complaints, his lips slightly pursed, as if he wanted to say something, but in the end he kept it to himself. He looked down at Jin Linlin in his arms, only to see her breathing gradually steady, and she had obviously fallen asleep.

At the same time, in the Dali Temple prison, Cao Jiao and her family of three were finally reunited.

Jiang Shuyan anxiously looked at his wife lying on the ground, unable to get up, and quickly helped her up, asking with concern:

"Did your second sister-in-law poison you? What happened to you?"

Seeing Jiang Shuyan and Erbao, Cao Jiao couldn't help but feel guilty. She knew that if she hadn't ignored the advice and insisted on opposing Jin Linlin, she probably wouldn't have ended up in such a miserable situation.
