Lujia Village
A little girl of only three years old, wearing dirty, gray clothes, muttering to herself, followed her brother closely like a wronged little dumpling.
Her big round eyes would glance at her brother from time to time, and her little hands would carefully tug at her brother's sleeves, as if she was afraid that her brother would suddenly abandon her.
"Brother, I really didn't mean to do that. It was Ergou who started the fight with me. Wuwuwu... Could you please go to my room and get me a set of clean clothes? If grandma knew I got into a fight again, she would definitely be really, really angry. Please, please, please."
The little girl sobbed and wiped her tears with her muddy hands, making her originally pink and tender face even dirtier.
The brother heard his sister's cry, stopped and sighed helplessly. He turned around and looked at his sister's pitiful appearance, and his heart couldn't help but feel distressed.
So, he slowly squatted down, stretched out his slightly rough little hands, and gently patted the dust off his sister's body:
"Okay, don't cry. Brother has already got your clothes for you. Go change them and we'll go home. Otherwise, grandma will worry."
The two children held hands and trotted back to their home. However, when they arrived at the door, they were surprised to find a large group of people gathered at the door, including many villagers who were watching the fun.
"Have you found Jiang Jingxing and Jiang Nianchu?" An anxious voice suddenly came from the room.
Seeing this, Dabao hurriedly took his sister's hand and was about to go back into the house when he heard a large group of people outside suddenly kneel down after hearing their names and shout in unison: "Your Highness!"
Dabao didn't care about them and hurried back to the house:
"Grandma, I found him. Don't worry, he's not in trouble."
The old woman in the room came out, half-knelt in front of the two children, and gently touched their heads:
"It's time for us to leave. Our family is here to pick us up. Let's go pack our things!" Upon hearing this, the two children were a little confused, but they didn't ask any more questions and ran back to their room to pack their luggage obediently.
Outside the house, three groups of people were standing there, seeming somewhat awkward and unfamiliar with each other.
One group was sent by Jin Linlin, another group was sent by Jiang Zhixu, and another group was sent by Mr. Jin.
The two children lay on the door frame curiously, secretly observing the situation outside and eavesdropping on their conversation with their ears perked up.
At this time, Mo Yi came out of the house and bowed respectfully to Aunt Zi:
"Aunt Zi, you should know me, right? I'm Madam's secret guard. Madam has been looking for you for the past two years, so she specially asked me to come and take you back."
Before she finished speaking, a stranger came out from the other side and also bowed and greeted Aunt Zi:
"Aunt, I'm someone sent by His Highness's father, Jiang Zhixu. Lord Jiang also misses Xiao Nianchu very much, and I hope you can go back with me."
Aunt Zi was stunned. She hadn't expected something like this to happen. Aren't Jin Linlin and Jiang Zhixu husband and wife? Why would they each send someone to pick up Xiao Nianchu? What was going on?
Just when Aunt Zi was feeling bewildered, the person sent by Old Master Jin came forward and said:
"Aunt Zi, the old man has been looking forward to your return. He misses little Nianchu very much and hopes you can go with us."
Aunt Zi frowned, her heart full of doubts and uneasiness. At this moment, Jiang Nianchu came out of the house, jumping and asking in a childish voice:
"You all want to take me away, so who should I go with?" Everyone's eyes fell on this cute and ignorant little girl.
Jiang Jingxing also followed out, protecting his sister and watching the people from all sides vigilantly.
Suddenly, there was a noise from the crowd, and a gorgeous carriage came galloping over. The door opened, and a woman with noble temperament walked out.
Her eyes were sharp. After a quick glance, she walked straight towards Jiang Nianchu and said gently, "Nianchu, come home with your mother!" It turned out that Jin Linlin came in person.
When everyone saw Jin Linlin, they knelt down and kowtowed as if they had seen the Emperor, shouting, "Long live the Emperor!"
Jiang Nianchu blinked her big, watery eyes, looked at Jin Linlin curiously, and asked in a baby voice, "Are you my mother? But I don't know you."
When Jin Linlin heard this, her heart ached. She quickly stepped forward, squatted down, and gently stroked Jiang Nianchu's little head. She said softly, "Nianchu, mother has been looking for you for a long time. From now on, mother will love you well."
Seeing this, Aunt Zi beside her also squatted down and explained to Jiang Nianchu:
"Nianchu, this is your mother. Two years ago, you two accidentally got separated, and grandma had no choice but to bring you here to live."
Jiang Jingxing stood in front of his sister, looking at Jin Linlin warily and questioning, "You said you were the mother, then what took you so long to find her?"
Jin Linlin looked at the somewhat unfamiliar child in front of her, and couldn't help feeling a little guilty, but she still smiled, lovingly took Jiang Jingxing's arm, and turned to Aunt Zi:
"Auntie, this is Dabao, he's grown up now. He was just over a year old when we separated. I guess he doesn't remember me."
As she spoke, Jin Linlin could no longer control her emotions. She hugged Dabao and Nianchu tightly in her arms, her shoulders shaking with excitement, and tears streaming down her face like a flood.
