He asked them again if their cousin had greeted them just now.
Everyone nodded, and some believed what he said.
Indeed, Prince Andrea even greeted them. They had never seen such a welcoming prince before.
Yu Huan ignored Andrea's string of words that sounded like beads and asked the housekeeper to bring the things over.
A beautifully wrapped gift box with a big bow tied on top.
"Are you really prepared? What a pity! It seems there is no way to trick you into kissing me." Prince Andrea said regretfully.
She opened the gift box and found a necklace with a very unique style. The main part was a silver chain, but the material was not silver. Instead, it was a special metal that vampires could accept.
Below the chain hangs a cut blood-red gem, shaped like both a drop of water and a tear, both alluring and mysterious.
Among the several gifts selected by the housekeeper, Yu Huan saw this necklace for the first time and thought it was suitable for Andrea.
"This is so beautiful..." Andrea exclaimed. She had received many gifts, but this one made her eyes light up, as if it was prepared for her. There was really only this one.
She couldn't wait to put it on herself and glanced at Yu Huan sideways, "Dear, maybe you would like me to kiss you to show my appreciation for the gift?"
There was a hook in her eyes as she glanced at Yu Huan fieryly.
She knew that kissing was unlikely, but pretending to kiss by touching his hand should be possible.
Thinking of this, she leaned over and stretched out her hand. Just as she was about to touch it, she heard the sound of something falling to the ground behind her.
Andrea frowned and looked over, seeing the broken vases on the floor and a few little vampires with red faces.
Her anger suddenly subsided. Andrea glanced at them in confusion and was about to ask what was going on, but they seemed to be frightened and scattered like birds and beasts. She shouted several times but no one turned back.
Several little vampires escaped from the castle under the adults' satisfied eyes, which had been expected long ago.
He fled to a quiet, unobservant corner, and after a long while, he muttered, "So Prince Andrea likes the eldest lady, that kind of like."
.
Someone quickly picked up the broken vase and the banquet continued as normal.
Seeing Andrea doing nothing, neither paving the way for Huo Xian's appearance nor asking anyone to bring Huo Xian over, but just sitting here teasing her in a non-committal manner, Yu Huan became a little anxious.
"Where is Huo Xian?" she couldn't help but ask Andrea.
Andrea shrugged and said casually, "He went out and hasn't come back yet. I'm afraid you won't see him today."
As he was speaking, there was suddenly a commotion at the door.
Andrea thought that Andri and the others had come back again, so she looked up and saw Huo Xian being caught by the blood servant.
She gritted her teeth in dissatisfaction and glanced at Yu Huan. Sure enough, she was staring at Huo Xian.
.
Ever since Huo Xian bit Yu Huan last time, Andrea brought him back and has kept him locked up.
Although he was not tortured, he was not given too much attention either. He was just detained there.
Obviously, Andrea wanted him to fend for himself.
The door was tightly shut, and the space was so narrow that only a few steps could be taken. This dark environment might be a paradise for vampires, but for humans, it was extremely depressing.
Andrea probably didn't want to kill him directly, so someone would bring him some food every now and then.
About once every two or three days, which was a situation where he could starve but not die of it.
However, surprisingly, despite eating so little, Huo Xian did not feel any other discomfort except for being a little weak due to not eating enough nutrition.
He himself found it strange, and sometimes even wondered if he had lost his perception and no longer felt hungry.
One day, two days, three days... When you are alone in an empty room, time passes slowly, and every minute and every second feels as long as a year.
Every day Huo Xian lay on his narrow bed with his eyes open, looking at the ceiling.
The hopeless future and the terrible current situation make people lose the will to fight.
Apart from sleeping, he would lie in bed and count the cracks in the wooden boards on the roof.
Sometimes, the door would be opened roughly, and the vampire responsible for delivering food to him would throw the food in, complaining incoherently about how troublesome it was for humans to have to eat these things.
Huo Xian chewed the food mechanically, and gradually he didn't know what the point was of continuing like this.
He seemed to have really lost his ability to perceive, not only hunger, but also emotions.
There is no happiness or resentment, nothing worth lingering on, only peace.
In the past, he picked wild fruits in order to earn some money to pay his tuition so that he could make a name for himself through studying and take revenge on his stepfather who often beat and scolded him.
However, now, perhaps because he has been away from that world for too long, he has even lost the obsession with revenge. Whenever he thinks about this matter, he feels lazy and powerless.
Then why live?
He stopped chewing and sat there motionless, ready to turn into stone, never having to think about the meaning of life or the future again. Just as his vision blurred, he heard voices outside.
They were two little vampires who came to a birthday party and went to the wrong place. They were talking as they walked back.
The tone is as cheerful as the birds singing on the branches in the early morning.
