The rooms on the second floor of the villa are most often used as the master's bedroom. Several of the Xu family's masters all live on the second floor, but Xu Qingxun and Xu Siyu's rooms are on the outermost floor, while Xu Yange prefers quietness and his room is on the innermost floor.
Xu Qingxun watched the two figures walk inside, to a place where he could not see.
And then, he never came out again.
The rules that were ingrained in his bones when he was a child were shattered right before his eyes.
Xu Qingxun glanced at the clock again; the gilded hands still had only moved halfway.
His expression changed, and the hypocritical, bright smile that was always on his face disappeared without a trace.
He had a blank expression on his face, and the energetic young man's face unexpectedly looked sharp.
"Why? Because of love?"
The light tail of the voice scattered in the air, and no one answered him.
In the Xu family, this is really a rare thing.
Xu Siyu glanced at him and said nothing.
When the shining gilded pointer was about to stand up, Xu Siyu packed up the documents and Xu Qingxun stood up holding the game console.
As he walked up the stairs, his mind flashed back to their intimate figures.
The habits they had followed since childhood had become like biological clocks, etched into their bodies. But the person who had made them develop this habit had broken it because of one person.
Carrying Yu Huan back to the bed, Xu Yange couldn't help laughing when he saw her taking off her coat in a daze and getting into the quilt and closing her eyes impatiently.
He sat beside the bed, quietly watching her sleeping face. Even though she knew he was there, she didn't shy away and quickly fell asleep.
Thin white fingers clutched a corner of the quilt, and her curled black eyelashes pressed tightly against her face. Deep in sleep, she had no sense of vigilance, oh, not even when awake.
Xu Yange stood up, kissed her forehead, said good night to her, and went out.

There were only two of them eating at the empty table.
"Isn't anyone coming down to eat?" Xu Qingxun couldn't help but ask.
"The master went to inspect the mine early in the morning, and the mistress hasn't woken up yet." The housekeeper answered dutifully.
"It's this late." Xu Qingxun had almost finished his breakfast. He asked in disbelief, "No one went to call her?"
The housekeeper smiled and said, "The master has instructed us to prepare breakfast after the mistress wakes up."
"Is that so?" Xu Qingxun curled his lips after two seconds.
When Yu Huan came down from upstairs, it was almost noon.
She sat at the dining table and ate some toast with some butter, with a cup of warm milk at her side. On her plate were some fried eggs, sausages, and some vegetables like mushrooms and broccoli.
Xu Qingxun came back from the back garden and wandered to the restaurant entrance. He had just fiddled with the flowers and plants, and some mud had stained his snow-white shirt, but he ignored it.
"Ma'am, good morning." He poked his furry head in, smelling of sunshine.
"Why haven't you left yet?" Yu Huan asked him with his head tilted, biting a piece of toast.
For some reason, these words sounded a bit strange. Xu Qingxun attributed the discomfort to the fact that he was not used to having another person in the house.
"My brother and I haven't been back for a long time. This time we'll stay for a few days before leaving." After he said that, he didn't get a response and walked towards the living room.
Xu Yange is not here.
After Yu Huan finished breakfast and was about to go back to his room to do something, he happened to see Xu Qingxun picking up a jewel necklace from the table.
"That's mine." Yu Huan shouted.
"Here." Xu Qingxun spread out his palm and asked her to come over and take it.
"Who told you to touch my things?" she said unhappily.
Xu Qingxun caught the incongruity. It was not his illusion. The corners of his lips curled up, and when Yu Huan reached out his hand, he clenched his fist and retracted his hand.
Yu Huan opened his eyes wide and looked at him, a little surprised, and then he was about to lose his temper: "You..."
"Madam, you look very different from how you looked in front of father last night." Xu Qingxun looked at her with a smile.
"Can you be compared with the gentleman?" she said nonchalantly, reaching out to grab it, but missed.
The taste of tangerine, light aroma.
"After all, my brother and I were raised by our father." Xu Qingxun felt as if he was holding a cat toy, watching a ferocious cat pouncing at him, and jumping in anger if it couldn't catch him.
Yu Huan glared at Xu Qingxun angrily, "This is my territory, I will kick you out sooner or later!"
Xu Qingxun's expression changed, and he obediently returned the necklace, with his thin and slender fingers spread out in front of her.
"Madam, please forgive me. My brother and I respect you very much." Xu Qingxun said.
He was afraid of her and was trying to please her.
Yu Huan became proud again, took back the necklace that belonged to her, snorted at Xu Qingxun, and was about to say something harsh to scare him when the sky outside the window darkened.
It was Xu Yange’s suspension train, he came back from outside.
Xu Qingxun squinted at her.
She immediately lost her fierce look, like a kitten hiding its claws.
But she was unwilling to miss this opportunity to suppress others, so she lowered her voice and said, "It's no use trying to please me. I will kick you all out anyway."
After she finished speaking, she brushed past Xu Qingxun and ran towards the door. The soft-soled shoes she wore at home made a cheerful "clacking" sound on the ground.
"Sir, you're back. Did you miss me?"
Xu Qingxun heard her speak sweetly to her father.
He stood there motionless for a long time, but after a long time, he couldn't help but laughed out loud.
