Chapter 49: Countryside Ex-Girlfriend 9

After studying hard for so many days, Yu Huan is finally going to take the exam.

The test site is not in the village, but in a school in the town center. Due to time constraints, it is impossible to walk there, so someone has to ride a bike to take us there.

It just happened that Mr. and Mrs. Zhang happened to be taking on a big order that day.

The family sat in the yard discussing this matter. Just when the mother was about to give up the order and send her daughter to take the exam, Zhao Yang appeared driving a car.

He had just bought a bicycle and passed by Zhang's house. He listened to a few words unconsciously and walked in.

"I'll go and take it off." He said without any hesitation.

Zhang's father and mother naturally thanked him for his help, but they also did not forget to ask their daughter what she thought.

In the moonlight, everyone was hazy. He could only see her dark, bright eyes, but she still didn't look at him.

Yu Huan didn't care much about who gave it to her and just nodded casually.

On the day of the exam, grandma prepared dinner early in the morning. She specially prepared two eggs and a sausage for Yu Huan, as a good omen.

Before I finished eating, Zhao Yang came over on his bike.

Yu Huan bit the last egg and listened to her grandmother talking to the other person.

"I'm really sorry to trouble you to send Huanhuan off today. Her parents have finally taken on an important task..." Grandma thanked.

"It's just fine. It's what I should do." Zhao Yang stood there, holding the car.

Yu Huan finished eating and picked up his schoolbag.

Zhao Yang held the bike and waited for her to sit down. He waved goodbye to his grandmother and then started riding.

When the car was bought, the back seat was not the kind that could carry people comfortably, so Zhao Yang tied a thick cushion on it.

Yu Huan still had to hold on to something to avoid falling.

The air in the early morning is fresh and slightly cool.

The wheels rolled over the grass on the ground, the tips of my hair were blown up by the wind, and when I raised my face, I saw the warm and bright sunshine.

Passing by the path she had to take every day to go to school, she rarely had the time to look at the scenery. She thought to herself that the feeling of taking a car and walking were really different.

Soon, we arrived. The school gate was bustling with activity, a huge crowd. Some were taking exams, some were dropping off their children, and some were taking advantage of the crowds to sell snacks like sunflower seeds and drinks.

Yu Huan looked at the time when the exam would end and told Zhao Yang that he could come and pick her up at that time.

She rarely spoke to him.

He lowered his eyes, as if listening intently to her words, but he was actually looking at her. He was looking at her charming eyebrows, the expression on her face when she spoke, and the fair and delicate profile of her face.

Yu Huan went in.

But Zhao Yang didn't leave. He leaned against the car and waited outside.

Time passed little by little. Someone working in the town saw Zhao Yang and came over to greet him in confusion: "Brother Zhao, aren't you busy today? I saw you so busy the other day."

"Nothing today." Zhao Yang answered briefly.

After a few more pleasantries, the man invited Zhao Yang to sit with him, but Zhao Yang declined and stayed there.

Time passed by minute by minute. Yu Huan finished her morning exam and came out with her things. Just as she was looking for someone, she saw Zhao Yang in the same place and waved at her.

There was a hustle and bustle of people coming and going around, with the sounds of talking, hawking, and car bells mixed together, making it extremely lively.

Zhao Yang was surrounded by the crowd, standing upright with broad shoulders, like a tree.

Yu Huan walked towards him with difficulty, but there were people all around, jostling and pushing each other. When he was almost there, his wrist was grasped by a slender and strong hand.

Zhao Yang took her to the bicycle, and Yu Huan grabbed the back seat of the bicycle. He then let go of her hand, pushed the bicycle, and squeezed out of the crowd with Yu Huan.

I found a restaurant with a seat and ordered three dishes and a bowl of egg noodles.

After Yu Huan sat down, she realized that she was the only one eating. She asked him not to order so much, but he didn't listen. His eyes were calm as he said, "It may not suit your taste. If you can't finish it, pack it up and take it home."

That’s quite thoughtful, Yu Huan muttered to himself.

But Zhao Yang felt a little awkward just watching her eat.

"Why don't you eat something more?" she advised.

Zhao Yang shook his head.

She was too lazy to say anything more. After eating, she waited until the time was almost up and went back to the examination room.

After she went in, Zhao Yang bought two sesame cakes on the roadside and ate them.

?

Finally, all the exams were over. Yu Huan was exhausted and staggered out. Before she could even complain of being tired, Zhao Yang stuffed a package into her hand.

It smells nice and the taste is a bit familiar.

Yu Huan looked down and saw that they were sugar-roasted chestnuts. They were quite large, and the golden flesh could be seen through the cracked shell.

"For me?" She felt a little strange and embarrassed.

He watched her slender white fingertips fiddling with the paper bag for a few times, and her dark eyes glanced over. Perhaps she didn't understand what he meant, or perhaps she didn't want to accept his things, so she just took it and said nothing.

The corners of my clothes fluttered in the wind, and I rode my bicycle back home.

The sound of shelling came from the back seat, and the sweet and soft aroma of chestnuts wafted out.

Zhao Yang was stunned for a moment, then slowly curled up the corners of his lips.

The male protagonist buys chestnuts for the female supporting character.

Is there a male protagonist and a female supporting role in this world who get along like this? The system's sky has collapsed again.

"You knew there was something wrong with these chestnuts! But you still ate them!" The system criticized Yu Huan bitterly.

"Is it okay if I don't eat it?" Yu Huanci said straightly, "He bought it for me. I didn't put a knife to his neck and force him to buy it."

The system cried bitterly.

Yu Huan ate chestnuts heartlessly.

After a while, the system, with tearful eyes, sniffed and asked Yu Huan what chestnuts tasted like.
