Chapter 50: Unexpected Disaster

"Humph, you're such a loser! You're already an adult, and you're still playing this."

Yang Donghu looked in the direction of the voice and saw an unfamiliar woman with a girl of about his age.

He looked at the woman, then pointed at himself and asked, "Are you talking about us?"

"What else? Is there anyone else?"

Indeed, those who were supposed to eat had already gone to eat, and those who had not eaten were either cooking in the kitchen or making a fuss in the bridal chamber. The only two idle people here were Yang Donghu and Zhao Fangchu.

This was Yang Donghu's first time here, and he was very sure that he didn't know this person. He looked at Zhao Fangchu and asked, "Do you know him?"

Zhao Fangchu shook his head. He really had no impression of this person.

"Excuse me, who are you?" Yang Donghu dusted off his hands, stood up and asked.

Before the woman could even begin to speak, the girl beside her spoke first, her voice tinged with sarcasm. She squinted her eyes at Yang Donghu and said with disdain, "That's all. I thought he'd marry a wonderful wife, but he ended up marrying a jerk. He mistook a fish eye for a pearl. He's really shortsighted."

She shook her head as she spoke.

Yang Donghu didn't understand, but he was sure it was related to Zhao Luochuan, but he didn't know what the connection was.

Zhao Fangchu could tell there was something else behind her words, so he stepped forward and shouted at her, "Who are you? Why are you talking so harshly?"

"I'm talking to you, and you interrupt me without permission. You're as uneducated as your mother." The woman's face became even gloomier when she saw Zhao Fangchu yelling at her daughter.

"Didn't she start cursing first? Who is so uneducated?" This person should be an old acquaintance of Zhu Cuilan, but it seems that their relationship is not very good. When Yang Donghu heard that Zhu Cuilan was involved in her words, his face turned cold.

When the woman heard Yang Donghu say this, she came up to teach him a lesson: "Who are you talking about, you little bitch, born of a mother but not raised by her? I will teach you a lesson on behalf of your mother."

Yang Donghu would not stand there and let someone hit him. He dodged to the side. The woman missed his attack and turned around to hit him again.

Zhu Cuilan couldn't find Yang Donghu and Zhao Fangchu, so she went out to look for them and eat something to fill her stomach. But then she saw someone about to fight. "Hey, hey, hey, what are you doing? Why are you hitting people?"

The woman stopped when she saw someone coming.

Zhu Cuilan finally saw who it was and couldn't help but get angry: "Liu Sufen, what are you doing?"

The woman called Liu Sufen saw that Zhu Cuilan's face was not good either, and she said in a harsh tone: "What am I doing? Why don't you ask them what they are doing? They are so young and disrespectful to their elders. What kind of people are they? If you don't discipline them, I will discipline them for you."

Yang Donghu didn't know about the feud between Liu Sufen and their family, but Zhu Cuilan knew it clearly. She angrily said, "Come on, you! Don't I know who you are? We don't need you to take care of our children. Who do you think you are? Just take care of your daughter."

Liu Sufen is the daughter of Zhu Cuilan's cousin. There are many children in her family, eight in total, including boys and girls, and she is the third child.

With older brothers and sisters above her and younger siblings below her, Liu Sufen became more and more strong-willed and outstanding in order to attract more attention from her parents.

She was lucky when she got married. She married a rich farmer named Li. Her life was better than others. She gave birth to three boys in a row, and then a daughter. Her personality was even more outgoing, and her eyes were always on top of her head.

Zhu Cuilan had only one younger brother. When she was young and unmarried, she was a favored girl at home. Liu Sufen, who lived in the same village, loved to compete with her, comparing the cosmetics and jewelry she had received and the betrothal gifts when she got married.

When Liu Sufen learned that Zhu Cuilan had just married a bricklayer who did not get any land, she was so happy that she said a lot of sarcastic things to her in private, saying that Zhu Cuilan would have no place to be buried after her death.

When Zhu Cuilan gave birth to Zhao Fangchu, she held a full-moon banquet, but did not invite Liu Sufen to the banquet. She came by herself after smelling the food. Zhu Cuilan saw that she was already there, and since they had not yet fallen out, it was not convenient to chase her out, so she let her in.

Zhu Cuilan brought Fang Chu out to show everyone. Everyone wanted to praise him, but Liu Sufen was never an honest person. She insisted on contradicting others, saying that giving birth to a boy was worse than giving birth to a girl. How could a money-loser have the nerve to hold a banquet? If it were her, she would find a place to hide and disappear.

Zhu Cuilan had just finished her confinement, and she was so angry that she burst into tears. Zhao He angrily drove Liu Sufen out and said that they would no longer be relatives and the two families would never have any contact again.

From then on, the feud between the two families grew bigger and bigger.

Every time Zhu Cuilan returned to her parents' home, she would pretend not to see Liu Sufen. This went on for many years until one year she brought Zhao Luochuan with her.

Zhao Luochuan is tall and has a face that has inherited some of his mother's southern elegance. He always stands out when standing with others.

Zhu Yicheng knew that Zhao Luochuan was a hunter and admired him so much that he insisted that Zhao Luochuan let him test his skills. The two of them took their slingshots and went into the woods.

On the way back, he met a man selling marzipan candy. Zhao Luochuan thought that it was his first time here and there were many children in his cousins' families, so he planned to buy some snacks to entertain the children.

In many villages, there are peddlers carrying loads on their shoulders and walking around the streets. Some of them are dishonest and shortchange people by selling things.

Just as Zhao Luochuan was about to go, he saw a girl arguing with the peddler. He didn't want to get involved, but the peddler not only denied it, but also started to rant and ramble, seeing that the girl had no one to back her up.

Zhao Luochuan was at the age of full vigor and could not stand seeing bad people bullying the elderly, the weak, women and children, so he stepped forward and taught the peddler a lesson, seeking justice for the girl.
