The peaches in the well water were just the right temperature. Yang Donghu carefully carried the bowl back to the house. Zhao Luochuan had fallen asleep, but the noise of his footsteps woke him up slowly.
"Why are you up so early? Why don't you lie down for a while?"
Yang Donghu put the bowl on the table and sat down beside the bed to pull him up: "Don't sleep anymore. The Lantern Festival starts early, and it will be dark soon. Let's go earlier and serve the chocolate fruit first. I made something delicious for you, hurry up and try it."
Having just woken up and feeling dry-mouthed, Zhao Luochuan hugged the person and kissed her before letting her go. When he saw what Yang Donghu brought, he was still a little dazed: "This is..."
"It's peaches in syrup. Fang Chu told me." Yang Donghu picked up the bowl and handed it to him, saying with a smile, "I learned how to make it from my aunt. Try it and see if it's similar to what your mother makes."
Zhao Luochuan scooped up a mouthful and put it in his mouth. The familiar taste made his eyes red.
Yang Donghu looked at him expectantly: "How is it? Does it look like him?"
"Like...exactly the same."
Zhao Luochuan hadn't eaten anything his mother had cooked for a long time. If Yang Donghu hadn't suddenly brought him peaches, he might have completely forgotten about it one day.
"That's good. I was worried that you wouldn't think it tasted like it."
Zhao Luochuan finished the peach in a few bites, put down the bowl and immediately pressed the man down on the bed, leaned close to his neck and called out "Dong Hu" in a muffled voice.
There was a hint of crying in the voice. Yang Donghu knew that his man was too proud to shed tears in front of her. He put his hands on Zhao Luochuan's back, patted him gently a few times without saying a word, and let his face nestle in his neck.
Zhao Luochuan hugged him tighter and tighter, and Yang Donghu's body, which had just been refreshed for a while, was about to sweat again.
"Let's get up. Fang Chu has packed everything. We should leave soon."
"I don't want to remember." Zhao Luochuan threw the lantern festival behind his mind and hugged the person tightly, refusing to let go: "Donghu, thank you."
The two of them were not long in being affectionate when they were interrupted by the old lady in the house shouting: "Donghu? Are you going or not? The lanterns are ready."
There was no time to waste if Zhao Luochuan didn't want to get up. His eyes were red when he stood up. Just before Yang Donghu went out to get the lantern, he stood on tiptoe and gave him a light kiss on his eyelids.
The old lady's lanterns were exquisitely made. Zhao Fangchu couldn't wait to pack up and come over to choose a lantern, and was praised by the old lady for its beauty.
Zhu Cuilan was originally afraid that Zhao Fangchu would not want to see her or dress up, but now she sees that her brother is handsome.
Zhu Cuilan did not visit the Lantern Festival with the younger generation. After offering the snacks, she would go to the group of women to see if there was a suitable man.
Yang Donghu just went to join in the fun, and only changed her clothes and wore her hair in a normal bun. After what happened with Li Shangcai, Zhao Luochuan was afraid that someone would miss his wife, so he held Yang Donghu from beginning to end and refused to let go.
After picking up the snacks and putting them in baskets, the group headed towards Mingyue Bridge in a lively manner before it got completely dark.
