Chapter 14 Grilled Fish

Zhao Luochuan raised the branch with the prey above his head and smiled proudly at Yang Donghu. His expression looked like a child asking for praise.

Yang Donghu burst out laughing at his childish boasting, but still clapped his hands and said with a smile: "Wow, that's amazing."

Zhao Luochuan doesn't understand love and likes these complicated things.

He only knew that he was happy as long as he looked at Yang Donghu, and he was happy when he interacted with him.

Yang Donghu's half-hearted compliment made him feel as if he was stepping on cotton.

Before long, he had caught several more fish.

Seeing that he wanted to continue in the water, Yang Donghu quickly grabbed his arm and said, "That's enough. We can't eat any more. Dead fish won't be fresh if they are kept for too long."

"Okay, then I'll go clean the fish." Zhao Luochuan picked up the fish and walked towards the river with a knife.

Yang Donghu pushed together the dry firewood that Zhao Luochuan picked up from under the tree and started a fire with a flint.

After a while, the aroma of fish wafted out.

Yang Donghu took out the leftover bread from the morning and planned to eat it with the fish later.

Zhao Luochuan picked up a fish with a slightly charred skin, tore off a piece of meat with few bones from the belly, blew on it gently, and handed it to Yang Donghu.

"Try it."

Yang Donghu turned the other fish in his hands to prevent them from burning.

He didn't have an extra hand to take it, so out of selfishness, he simply lowered his head and bit the meat with his mouth.

This action had a huge impact on Zhao Luochuan. His body trembled violently and he was stunned for a moment. His mind was full of the soft touch of Yang Donghu's lips, and he even forgot to retract his hand.

Yang Donghu opened his eyes wide and looked at him innocently: "What's wrong?"

Zhao Luochuan looked at Yang Donghu's pure eyes, feeling ashamed of himself for having such evil thoughts in broad daylight. He paused for a moment, withdrew his hand, and did not answer.

Yang Donghu lowered his head to hide the smile on his lips.

He understood what he felt towards Zhao Luochuan. As a modern man, his feelings were straightforward and passionate, but he was not sure what the other person meant.

After all, when the two first met, Yang Donghu looked like a pitiful little boy, and he didn't know whether Zhao Luochuan's kindness to him was out of pity.

However, judging from these few deliberate contacts, Zhao Luochuan's thoughts are probably similar to his own.

Don't be in a hurry, take your time.

Yang Donghu secretly raised his eyes and glanced at Zhao Luochuan. The smile on his lips gradually deepened, and his mind became more and more far-reaching.

Zhao Luochuan was still immersed in Yang Donghu's soft lips and couldn't extricate himself, and didn't notice his little movements at all.

He stared at the fish in his hand, thinking for a long time, then reached out and tore off another piece of meat and handed it to Yang Donghu again: "Have another piece."

Yang Donghu looked at the fish meat at his mouth, without any hesitation, lowered his head and ate another piece.

The fresh fish meat does not have any fishy smell even without any seasoning, and even has a hint of sweetness.

After a few rounds of this, Yang Donghu ate the whole fish with the help of Zhao Luochuan's hand.

"Is it tasty?"

Yang Donghu smiled and nodded: "It's delicious, you should try it too."

A total of five fish were grilled. Yang Donghu ate one and a half, and Zhao Luochuan ate the rest.

The sun gradually set in the west, and it was getting late. Yang Donghu finished his meal first and got up to pack up the wild vegetables he had picked to avoid going back and doing the trouble.

Zhao Luochuan finished his meal in a few bites, then stood up and went to fish out the fishing net.

This time the harvest was quite good. Although most of the fish in the net were small, they still weighed about twenty pounds.

Moreover, some of the grass carps were much larger than usual.

Zhao Luochuan poured the small fish in the net into the wooden barrel he brought from home.

He then went to a large willow tree not far away and broke off a few willow branches. He passed them through the mouths of several large grass carps and held them in his hands to make it easier to carry them down the mountain.

Although going down the mountain was much faster than going up, the heavy things in their hands did delay them for a while. The two of them hurried and finally arrived home before the sun set.

The fish were difficult to handle, and it was getting late, so Zhao Luochuan took out a large basin from the house, filled it with water, put all the fish in it, and planned to keep them overnight before cleaning them up tomorrow.

They were really tired today and had no mood to think about food. Yang Donghu went to the kitchen to cook some porridge and added a handful of shepherd's purse, and the two of them ate a little.

There is heavy dew in autumn. I didn’t have time to take in the quilt I put out to dry in the morning, and it was already a little damp when I came back.

Yang Donghu touched it and found that it was even more damp than before it was exposed to the sun. He knew he couldn't use the quilt tonight, otherwise the moisture would enter his body and make him sick.

Zhao Luochuan went to the kitchen to fetch a basin of water. Yang Donghu waited for a while, and when he came out, he asked, "Are there any other quilts at home? It's been dewy, and the quilts are a little damp."

Zhao Luochuan felt a bit troubled when he heard this. Originally, there was a quilt at home, but the quilt that his father covered with when he died was burned after the burial according to custom.

It is normal to go hunting for three to five days. I took another quilt to the cabin in the mountains, but there are no extra quilts in the house right now.

He walked over and touched the quilt, saying, "It's okay. Just use it tonight. When the weather is good tomorrow, take it out to air it."

The quilt in Yang Donghu's room was just dried by Zhao Luochuan a few days ago. Yang Donghu didn't take it out this morning. He was extremely grateful at this moment.

"How can this be possible? What if I get sick?" Yang Donghu shook his head, disagreeing with his idea. After thinking for a moment, he whispered, "How about we just make do with each other tonight?"

After waiting for a while without hearing Zhao Luochuan speak, Yang Donghu pondered for a moment, then continued shyly, "I was originally here to be your husband. Since we're going to live together, it's not a good idea to sleep separately all the time."
