Chapter 214 Raising Rabbits
Zhao Lingmeng went to bed early the night before and got up early the next morning specifically to have breakfast with her three children.
The three Zhao Houjing brothers all got up at a late hour today, each one more listless than the other.
Zhao Houjing was very curious: "Mom, why did you get up so early today?"
It’s no wonder Zhao Houjing asked this. In his heart, since his mother and father separated, the number of days he had to get up so early could be counted on one hand.
"I went to bed early yesterday, so I got up early today! I'll have breakfast with you guys. I hope your exam today..." Zhao Lingmeng paused for a moment before adding, "I hope you know all the questions on the test and get all your guesses right."
After hearing what their mother said, Zhao Houjing and Zhao Houming looked at each other and nodded happily, thinking that what their mother said was quite interesting.
Zhao Houyang's reaction was even more genuine, "Mom, I like your blessing."
Zhao Lingmeng looked at the third son, Zhao Houyang. She always felt that this son was a bit of a poor student, but the amazing thing was that every time he took an exam, the teacher said that he was still studying well.
Zhao Lingmeng thought to herself, no wonder people used to say that the nine sons of a dragon are all different! These three in her family are so different. The three brothers have no similar personalities at all.
The eldest brother, Zhao Houjing, is treacherous, a bit sensitive, and thinks a lot, but he is also very affectionate. You can tell from his attitude towards Sun Tu and the others.
The second brother, Zhao Houyang, seems to have a cheerful and generous personality, but he doesn't give in when he shouldn't. He doesn't give face to anyone, not even to his beloved younger brother, and he is also scheming.
The third brother, Zhao Houyang, is a bit contradictory. Sometimes he seems very smart, but sometimes he seems very stupid. Sometimes Zhao Lingmeng even feels that the third brother is not very keen on studying and becoming an official, but he likes his second brother very much.
When Zhao Lingmeng came to her senses after her wandering thoughts, the three little ones had already finished their breakfast and were ready to go to school.
Zhao Lingmeng quickly said, "Your class today has been moved to the afternoon. Mother asked the teacher to focus on the questions this morning."
After hearing what their mother said, Zhao Houjing and the other two lost the last bit of hope in their hearts and could only sit down again dejectedly.
When Zhao Lingmeng saw this, he signaled Qiuyue with his eyes to bring up the little rabbit that Lord Fan had given her yesterday.
When Qiuyue received the signal from Zhao Lingmeng, she immediately went out and told someone to pick it up. It was not her turn to do such a small matter personally, so she waited at the door and would just bring it in later.
Inside the room, Zhao Lingmeng said as she ate, "Do you three know how to play rock, paper, scissors? I'll give you three gifts later. Choose in the order you win this game."
The three of them shook their heads at first, then noticed the key point: there was a gift. In an instant, three pairs of sparkling eyes stared at Zhao Lingmeng who was eating breakfast.
Zhao Lingmeng had no choice but to explain the rules of the game to the three of them. The game was very simple, and even the youngest, Zhao Houyang, understood the rules. Zhao Lingmeng then played a few more rounds with them, and the three of them completely understood it.
"Mom, you know so much." Zhao Houyang sincerely felt this way. He couldn't even remember what his mother was like in his previous life. He only remembered her crying alone and often carrying a big belly. Later, all he remembered were his second brother and his younger siblings.
Zhao Lingmeng also smiled proudly, and that smile was exactly the same as Zhao Houming's proud smile.
The four of them, mother and children, played for a while when Qiuyue brought the little rabbit in.
The three of them immediately gathered around curiously. No child could resist a white, fluffy bunny. Furthermore, the story of "Chang'e Flying to the Moon" they had heard last night also featured a bunny, which made them even more fond of it.
"Mom is so cute!"
"Mom, where are you from?"
"mother……"
Zhao Lingmeng rubbed her forehead, worried that the three brothers might get their eyes on a rabbit and start fighting again. She quickly stopped them from talking: "I heard you, stop yelling. Don't touch it yet. You three will play rock-paper-scissors first. The winner gets to choose first."
Zhao Houjing and the other three were obedient and immediately prepared to play the game of rock-paper-scissors.
Zhao Lingmeng quickly explained the rules to them before they started playing, to prevent anyone from cheating: "Wait, let's make it clear first! One round determines the winner, no cheating allowed!"
The second son, Zhao Houming, was the first to protest: "Mom, who do you think we are? How could we possibly cheat?"
Zhao Lingmeng didn't say anything, just stared at him with a smile.
Perhaps Zhao Houming was also thinking about his past dark history. Finally, he touched his nose awkwardly and said, "Okay! I won't cheat."
Zhao Lingmeng saw that Zhao Houming agreed, and she looked at the other two. Zhao Houjing and Zhao Houyang also nodded under Zhao Lingmeng's comments.
Zhao Lingmeng saw that all three of them agreed, and then he said, "Let's get started!"
Then, the second-best player, Zhao Houming, won the first round. He jumped three feet high and immediately ran to the basket of rabbits. He looked left and right, feeling around, unable to make a decision for a long time. He thought all of them looked good.
Of the remaining two, Zhao Houyang wasn't in a hurry at all. Although he thought rabbits were cute, he preferred eating rabbit meat, so it didn't matter to him whether he raised one or not. But Zhao Houjing was more anxious. He had never personally raised an animal since he was a child, and he was very curious: "Second brother, hurry up and choose."
When Zhao Houming heard his elder brother urging him, he hesitated for a moment, then chose the fattest one and took it out directly. "I'll keep this one. Fat ones are easier to raise."
Seeing his elder brother, Zhao Houjing, stretching his head to look over there, Zhao Houyang took the initiative to humbly say, "Brother, you choose first! I can choose any of them. I raise them to eat anyway."
Originally, Zhao Houjing was planning to give in, but his third brother said he wanted to raise it to eat, and he immediately lost his temper.
Zhao Houjing looked at Zhao Houyang in disbelief: "You want to raise it to eat?"
Zhao Houyang didn't think it was a big deal. "Yes, rabbit meat is delicious, and fattened rabbits are even better."
Zhao Houjing felt his whole body tremble, and he immediately ran over and picked up the one he liked. It felt like he was afraid that if he was a second late, the rabbit he liked would be eaten.
Zhao Houming also heard what his third brother said. He also came over with the little rabbit in his arms in disbelief. "Are you really going to raise one to eat? Rabbits are so cute."
Zhao Houyang nodded. "Fatten them up, they'll be more delicious."
Zhao Houming immediately shouted at the top of his voice: "Mom, my third brother is so scary, he wants to eat the rabbits we raised. Mom..."
"I heard you, stop howling!" Zhao Lingmeng first stopped Zhao Houming, then she looked at Zhao Houyang, "When you've fattened up rabbit, tell me. I know many ways to prepare it, and it's incredibly delicious."
