Chapter 30 The Patriarch Meets Qijing and Qiming
Sun Tu looked at Zhao Lingmeng's smiling face, and felt something was wrong in his heart. "What about the four hundred taels?"
Zhao Lingmeng didn't say anything and didn't want to pay any attention to this whimsical person. She just signaled Dongmian next to her to put Sun Qiming's shoes on and carry him away.
"What about the three hundred taels?" Sun Tu thought he had already given in. He thought that with this money, his mother would not have a hard time when she returned to the countryside.
"Sun Tu, have some shame! You only have an annual salary of two hundred taels, and yet you start asking for several hundred taels. I'm telling you clearly, let alone three hundred taels, the Zhou family should not ask me for even three taels of silver in the future. I'm not a sucker. Take the baby out! Don't make me throw you out in front of the child." Zhao Lingmeng said, waving her hand as if to shoo away a fly.
Sun Tu wanted to say something, but Sun Qijing immediately said, "Mother, I'm leaving now."
As soon as Sun Qijing saw his mother nod, he immediately pulled his brother and his father out. Dong Mian and Dong Shui were already waiting at the door. Tonight, they were going to protect the two young masters.
Meanwhile, Zhao Lingmeng in the room was thinking about Sun Tu's matter-of-fact tone, and she felt even more uncomfortable. Given Zhao Lingmeng's personality, she really didn't want a man like that. It would be fine if he was just a gigolo, but trying to force his way into it was just plain annoying.
Zhao Lingmeng thought about her original three poor children and could only sigh deeply. She would wait and see! After sighing, Zhao Lingmeng held the third child for a while. Seeing that he wouldn't wake up no matter how hard she held him, Zhao Lingmeng felt that she was sleepy too. So she decided to take another nap with the third child.
Sun Qiming followed his father and brother out, feeling unhappy as well, so he didn't say anything. He just stretched out his hands towards Dongmian, wanting Dongmian to hold him.
Dong Mian immediately understood what the Second Young Master meant, and immediately bent down and picked Dong Mian up. Sun Tu wanted to say something when he saw this, but when he thought about not getting the money just now and was in a bad mood, he didn't want to care about these things, so he took Sun Qijing's hand and slowly walked out of Yixin Courtyard.
After leaving Yixin Courtyard, Sun Tu took a look at the words "Yixin Courtyard". He had written them himself. He thought about how much he and his wife had been in love at the time, and how they had been very close over the past few years.
He was a little confused as to how it had come to this. He hadn't chosen to take a concubine of his own free will. If his wife didn't like being just a decoration, that would be fine. How could he act like they were enemies?
Sun Qijing looked at his father beside him. He didn't understand what the adults were thinking. But he knew his grandmother was leaving, and he felt a little reluctant. After all, he grew up in his grandmother's yard, and his grandmother had always been very kind to him. He felt very embarrassed, but he knew he couldn't change his mother's decision.
The child didn't even have the right to choose, let alone the right to decide. This was the first time he was so eager to grow up. He naively thought that when he grew up, he would have the right to decide. Unfortunately, he didn't expect that he would have a mother who didn't listen to him, and that when he grew up, he wouldn't be able to make decisions for her.
Sun Tu had been delayed in Yixin Courtyard for so long, and he slowly walked towards the bamboo courtyard with his two children. When Sun Tu arrived at the bamboo courtyard, all the other people were already there, waiting for him and his son.
As soon as Sun Qijing entered, he ran towards Zhou and Sun Yue, "Grandma, Auntie." As soon as Sun Qijing called out to them, Zhou hugged him in her arms, "Grandma's dear grandson! Why haven't you come to see me for so long?"
"Grandma, aunt." Although Sun Qijing was in Zhou's arms, he did not forget to bring water and called his aunt.
Zhou and Sun Yue's eyes instantly turned red. Although they both disliked Zhao Lingmeng, they were very fond of this child who grew up with them.
They originally thought that Sun Qijing would stop being close to them after his mother took him back. Unexpectedly, the little boy still remembered them. Zhou hugged Sun Qijing tightly, as if she was afraid that someone would snatch him away.
Sun Qiming looked at his brother like this, but he didn't say anything. He just put his head on Aunt Dongmian's shoulder and looked at everything without interest. He just wanted to finish the process quickly and go back to play with his mother and brother.
Seeing this scene, Sun Dayong was very happy. This is his brother's offspring! Sun Dayong had a good relationship with his brother when he was young, so he was also happy to see his grandson. That's why he couldn't wait to ask, "Is this Qijing and Qiming?"
Upon hearing this, Sun Qijing stepped out of his grandmother's arms, looked at his father, then at Sun Dayong, and said in childish words, "You two look a bit alike."
When Sun Qiming heard his brother say this, he also looked up at Sun Dayong curiously. Seeing that he really looked a bit like his father, he turned his head away without interest. In the mind of Sun Qiming, a little vengeful person, those who were on the same side as his father were not good people.
Although Sun Dayong didn't have much education, he was able to be the patriarch of the Sun family. When he saw the reaction of this little kid, he knew the situation of Tu Ge's daughter-in-law in this family. He sighed in his heart and went up to hug Sun Qiming who was in Dong Meng's arms. It was obvious that these people were doting on Sun Qijing, so he could just hold the second child himself!
Dong Mian looked at Sun Dayong and let go very readily, but she did not retreat and continued to stand by and wait.
"Qiming, I'm your great-grandfather." Sun Dayong happily hugged Sun Qiming, not caring whether the little guy was happy or not. Sun Dayong looked at the child in his arms with his eyes rolling around, and then looked at Tu Ge'er's eldest son who returned to Zhou's arms. They were both smart children! His younger brother was blessed.
Sun Qiming, who was in Sun Dayong's arms, was conflicted. Although he didn't want to call these people, his mother had taught him to call people, so he could only call out, "Great Grandfather."
"Oh. Our Qiming is so good." Sun Dayong was even happier when he heard the child in his arms calling him. This child obviously didn't want to pay attention to anyone in the room, but because he was holding him, he was willing to call him. Sun Dayong thought he was a good child.
Listening to Sun Dayong praising him, Sun Qiming thought that this great grandfather was not bad, so he should let him hold him for a while longer! So he obediently let Sun Dayong hold him.
"Brother, look at our Qijing. He is the most promising and the best-behaved one." Seeing that her brother was only holding Sun Qiming, Zhou began to feel sorry for Sun Qijing.
When Sun Qijing heard his grandmother say this before, he didn't think there was anything wrong. But now, when he heard his grandmother say this again, he felt embarrassed to see his brother. So Sun Qijing looked at his brother again. Seeing that he looked accustomed to it, Sun Qijing could only take a deep breath. Even so, his father still wanted Sun Qiming to speak for his grandmother. It was good enough that his brother didn't make a fuss.
Sun Qijing once again wondered how his father had managed to get the third place in the imperial examination.
