The students filled out half a stack of letters just to fill out the registration information.
After everyone left, the members of Group Two had a thin layer of sweat on their foreheads. Some were nervous, some were excited, some were scared, and some were crazy!
"Ke, because of you, our group is going to have to fight with our backs against the wall," a classmate joked.
“Yes,” the group leader said, “we can’t drift along aimlessly anymore. We need to be like Ke, set our sights on our goals and work hard to make our university life unforgettable. From now on, we not only need to focus on the competition, but you also need to prepare well for the Foreign Language Corner. Improving your own foreign language skills and abilities is also of paramount importance!”
Everyone nodded in agreement.
They discussed and made a plan, and when they came out together, Qin Yuanjiu was already waiting with his cart.
"Yu Bao'er, your family is here..." everyone teased.
They were rather sparse when it came to jokes, but this one sentence alone made one feel a little shy and warm.
"Family members," Ke Meiyu muttered to herself, then chuckled and waved to them confidently, "See you tomorrow!"
Upon approaching, Qin Yuanjiu handed over a military water bottle: "Grandma specifically asked me to bring this when I left home. It's pear, goji berry, and honey water, and it's still warm."
Ke Meiyu smiled, her eyes crinkling, and gulped down the milk in one go, letting out a comfortable sigh: "I've been in meetings all night and I was dying of thirst. This is a lifesaver! A baby with milk is a treasure. Ninth Brother, when we go to Kyoto, shall we take Grandpa and Grandma with us?"
“Okay,” Qin Yuanjiu said, taking the empty kettle and hanging it on the handle. “But, am I not good to you?”
"Okay, okay, Ninth Brother is the best to me, he's my personal driver, I love you to death..." Ke Meiyu blurted out the word "love." This was a very common way to express one's heart in later generations.
But in these times, love is often unspoken.
She coughed softly, "Um, Ninth Brother, I need your help urgently!"
Qin Yuanjiu's lips curled up silently, but he had to play along with the little woman, pretending not to hear. "Speak, what is it this time that needs my help?"
"It was a foreign language speech..." Ke Meiyu recounted what had happened.
"You want me to make up the numbers?"
“No,” Ke Meiyu shook her head, “It’s too low-level to just make up numbers. Ninth Brother will participate in the provincial foreign language competition. Even I will wait until I can get a certificate at the provincial level to participate.”
"Let's leave the school-level competition to the other hardworking students."
"If Ninth Brother isn't busy tonight, come with me to the language corner and help improve everyone's foreign language skills. Oh, and I should drag my brothers along too. Hmm, my two sisters-in-law should join in the fun too, the whole family will be mobilized!"
"The main reason is that I feel there are too many people in the foreign language corner, and everyone's foreign language level is uneven. We should at least divide them into fast and slow classes so that everyone can improve step by step."
Qin Yuanjiu ruffled her hair. "Is this like you've signed me up for another club?"
"Hehe, you can be more confident and remove the 'equivalent' part. And it's not just you, my brother and the others are too!"
She jumped into the man's car, and when they arrived at a dimly lit place, Ke Meiyu couldn't help but playfully slump onto the man's back.
For the first time, Ke Meiyu felt that busy days were actually quite nice; people need something to strive for to make life meaningful.
I don't know if she was too tired or too relaxed, but she was caught in the dream by the big boss again!
Ke Meiyu looked down at her clothes: a white casual outfit with red stripes, and a baseball cap with pink wings. The weather was neither too hot nor too cold, and a gentle breeze felt very comfortable on her cheeks.
In front of her was a large amusement park far from the hustle and bustle, brightly lit but completely empty.
Most importantly, right at the entrance is a long table laden with all sorts of snacks, desserts, and drinks, along with an eight-tiered birthday cake topped with two adorable plush toys—everything about it is just so delightful.
It was no longer the tense and oppressive scene she had experienced when she first entered her dream.
This is what a real dream should be like!
