The third brother whispered a warning to everyone to be on guard. The two cars stopped side by side at the same time because their tires were flat. This was too much of a coincidence.
Why are the trucks that passed ahead of them fine, but these two trucks in their line just can't get through?
The driver inspected the tires and said they were punctured by sharp stones, which makes one wonder.
While public security was good in those days, it was far from the ideal of a society where people didn't pick up lost items and left their doors unlocked at night. Those traveling long distances, especially carrying important goods, almost always carried some kind of weapon.
The defense is against highway robbers, but Tianji City is only an hour or so from Kyoto, and there are many vehicles on this road. It is almost impossible for anyone to be foolish enough to lie in wait here.
Moreover, their operation was very secretive. If it weren't for Lao Ba's extensive connections with higher-ups, he wouldn't have been able to learn human language and get such a lucrative opportunity.
However, what he did was not exactly honorable and could not withstand close scrutiny. He directly ordered all vehicles to reverse, and two other vehicles were tied with ropes to pull the two vehicles with flat tires.
Ying Yan played with the stone, and while everyone was on edge, he exchanged a glance with Ke Meiyu, then silently darted onto the roof of the car after applying invisibility and speed talismans.
Each vehicle had a driver and two soldiers accompanying them, and the back was loaded with goods, which were tightly bound with tarpaulins and hemp ropes. There was even a layer of cardboard boxes underneath to obscure the outline and feel of the goods.
It was dark, and the car lights were not very bright, only illuminating half a meter of the ground in front of them.
Both of them carried spatial rings, each containing a space of 20 square meters by 6 square meters, equivalent to 120 cubic meters.
Ten military trucks would be 4*2 square meters each, about two meters high, and could be stored in just two spatial rings!
They acted quickly, making a cut in the tarpaulin, reaching inside to touch the fabric, and with a thought, the entire truckload of goods was neatly stored in their storage space.
The two harvested at the same time, and while everyone's attention turned to the road conditions, they finished harvesting all the cloth in one minute.
They came and went silently. When they left, Ying Yan finally threw the stone in his hand, and it hit several times, damaging the tires of all the vehicles!
The third brother was sweating profusely. He had selfishly assigned the task, never expecting to run into such a tough opponent. All ten vehicles were unable to drive properly, and the tires were so badly damaged that they couldn't be repaired and needed to be completely replaced.
Even more terrifying, they were completely unaware that the supplies on the vehicle had vanished into thin air...
Even the toughest men felt a chill run down their spines when they encountered this in the middle of the night.
How could ten truckloads of supplies, weighing tons, suddenly disappear? Unless it was caused by something beyond human intervention!
The third brother was truly in despair and disbelief, as if he had entered hell. He must still be dreaming, and everything that was happening was contrary to science.
Ke Meiyu and Ying Yan sped all the way to the outskirts of the city, put the motorcycle into their spatial storage, and then went home.
Their figures emerged from the courtyard, and after exchanging a glance, they both breathed a sigh of relief, smiles playing on their lips.
"Do you think they might link this to you?" Ke Meiyu asked, tilting her head. "We didn't leave a single trace, so it's hard to guarantee they won't try to cover the losses with you. After all, you inherited the Qin family's vast fortune all by yourself."
Ying Yan nodded in deep feeling, "This does seem like something they are capable of doing."
"However, Kyoto is not ruled by just a few people, so I will keep a close eye on their actions."
As dawn broke, Curly was still lying lazily on the bed, the room filled with the strong smell of alcohol.
"You child, you're married and a father now, how come you're still drinking and wasting your time all day? How much have you been drinking? I heard you throwing up in the middle of the night," a middle-aged woman grumbled as she entered the room, pulled back the curtain, and wrinkled her nose as she quickly opened the window to let in some fresh air.
Curly covered his eyes and mumbled something, then chuckled mysteriously and said, "Mom, your son is a man of great things, he can't be like before, chasing after others and fooling around."
“Yesterday I had a celebratory banquet with some of my buddies. In less than six months, no, two months, our family’s money will double, or even triple! You can just stay home and enjoy your life. Your son will buy you a big, thick gold chain later.”
"You can show it off everywhere, or you can put it away and give it to your granddaughter-in-law."
The woman laughed and slapped him, "Don't talk nonsense. What did you do? You think you can multiply our money several times in two months? Our money isn't just three or five thousand. Doubling it is difficult. Even your grandfather wouldn't dare to guarantee it."
"Hurry up and get up and wash up, so your wife won't come asking me and your dad for your wife later."
Curly-haired guy smiled without saying a word, humming a song as he went to wash up.
Hearing the banging noises outside the door, the old man and woman peeked out, but no one went to open it.
Curly-haired man puffed out his chest and tucked in his stomach, looking menacing. "Honey, I've been behaving myself, why are you so suspicious all the time? Let me tell you, in a while, I'll shower you with money until you kneel down and sing to me..."
"Huh, Third Brother?" He was taken aback when he opened the door and saw the third brother. He noticed that the man was disheveled, covered in sweat, and had a fierce and gloomy look in his eyes.
"Fifth brother," the third brother said in a hoarse voice with difficulty, "It's over, everything is over."
"So fast?" Curly closed the door behind him, patting him on the shoulder happily. "You've worked hard, Third Brother. You must have had no rest all night. Come on, let's have some wontons. You should get some rest now..."
The third brother grabbed Curly's arm. "Fifth brother, all the goods are gone, vanished into thin air, and the tires of ten military trucks are all ruined!"
Curly's smile froze, and he said dryly, "Third Brother is getting better and better at joking. How could so much stuff just disappear into thin air?"
