Chapter 314 Perseverance Leads to a Bright Future

One person contacted another, and soon a construction team of 100 people from all over the country was formed!

And there are many more people waiting for their chance.

At this time, Ke Meiyu did not come forward, but instead entrusted an intermediary company to deceive the Di family and the Zhao family, using readily available excuses.

Although the men of the Di family had fully recovered from their leg injuries, they still avoided densely wooded areas whenever they went to or from the fields, fearing they might be struck by lightning again.

They were extremely cautious in their relationship with their wives, never daring to lay a hand on them or even speak harshly to them. Otherwise, when their legs gave out, they would suffer tenfold or even a hundredfold revenge.

The women gritted their teeth and endured it.

Life is always so realistic and helpless. After a divorce, neither party can guarantee that they will find a good person next. Rather than finding a seemingly glamorous but ultimately worthless person, it's better to make do with what you have now.

They're both grandparents now, they can't handle too much stress.

The old man has passed away, and the family's savings have been emptied. Everyone looks dejected, feeling that life is too hard to bear, just getting through each day without any energy.

Just then, someone rode a motorcycle into the village, its engine whirring and kicking up a cloud of dust.

The man was wearing green camouflage clothing. He took off his helmet, brushed off his hair which was styled like a caterpillar, and the earrings on his ears gleamed in the sunlight.

The old men and women under the crooked tree at the village entrance had mouths full of dirt.

They spat and stared at the man in astonishment.

"Young man, who are you looking for? Whose relative are you? You look so energetic!"

They were like people from two different worlds.

The young man, holding his helmet, smiled and said, "I'm looking for the Di family, the one with veterans in their family."

The crowd got up and led the way for him, and some even tiptoed into the field to call for help.

When the Di family heard that people from the city had come and specifically requested the Di family, who had veterans, they were all so frightened that their legs trembled.

They don't know if it's good or bad, but this is their home, and as the saying goes, you can run away from your home but not your temple. If they can escape this time, can they escape next time?

They trudged home, taking one shaky step at a time.

Upon seeing the man in camouflage, they shuddered again.

We looked at each other, and neither of us dared to step forward and ask a question.

The onlookers couldn't help but whisper among themselves. The once arrogant Di family was now completely subdued. Tsk tsk, it's true that God has eyes and has made the wicked behave themselves!

The young man didn't keep them waiting long. He took out a pen and paper from the trunk and said, "Your old man is worried about you, so he asked someone to find you some work. Take a look. If you're happy, sign it. If not, I'll leave. There are other people waiting."

Upon hearing this, the men of the Di family exchanged glances, and the one at the front reluctantly pulled out the piece of paper.

The sign that came to our door was a recruitment contract for a nursing home. It stated that the internship period was one year, after which employees would be offered a permanent position based on their performance. During their employment, they were required to follow instructions and abide by the nursing home's rules and regulations. They were not allowed to knowingly violate the rules, otherwise their bonuses and wages would be deducted. These were all detailed but vague statements.

The young man fiddled with his helmet and said, "The nursing home has just chosen a location and will soon begin construction and decoration. You are the first batch of employees. When the second batch arrives, you will be the elderly."

"You're very familiar with your work, and you have a bright future ahead of you!"

"If you want to go, sign the form quickly. If you don't want to go, just let me know and I'll head over to someone else's house right now."

The Di family was terrified of being persecuted, especially the men. When they lost feeling in their legs, they felt that their whole lives were bleak and hopeless, as if they could see the end of their lives at a glance. They deeply regretted not cherishing the days when they were healthy.

Deeply remorseful, they wondered if they were being punished by heaven for being unfilial.

In that case, they must change their ways and take good care of the old man, so as to live with their conscience.

When people are in dire straits, anything they think about is good.

Nowadays, when they hear about work, they no longer think of it as a great bargain, as they used to.

"Comrade, why, why us?" They still remembered the resentment the old man had before he passed away.

The old man had already been treated so badly by them that he was no longer human, and now that things had gotten so bad, how could he possibly be kind enough to ask someone to find him a job?

The young man scoffed, "You're all adults, do you think I'd sell you off? If it's a job, it's a job. The nursing home is just starting construction, and the initial work is tiring and heavy. Whether you can persevere is up to you."

"If you persevere, your future will be limitless. If you can't persevere, it means you're not cut out for this. Go back to farming, what could you possibly lose?"

The Di family agreed. The contract was very clear and contained no traps whatsoever. It only stated that there would be penalties for not working properly, including deductions from wages and bonuses. They were not afraid of these consequences.

"Also, look carefully, don't say I'm lying to you. The work in the nursing home is much easier than farming, but it's a very tedious and long-term job, so we don't hire short-term workers. It's a ten-year contract, is that okay?"

The Di family hesitated for a moment, but the onlookers were extremely anxious.

"Oh my, what's there to hesitate about with something this good? Let alone ten years, even twenty, fifty, or a hundred years, we'd sign it!"

"Exactly! What job is more tiring than working in the fields? Even construction workers can't work on cloudy or rainy days. Sometimes, farming means racing against the heavens..."

“Working outside, the harder you work, the more you earn. Anyway, it’s more promising than farming. I don’t know what you’re thinking.”

"Uncle Hammer is an honest man. He's only doing this because he means well. He's not like you guys, full of bad intentions..."
