Chapter 317 No one gets up early without a reason

"So before the real wage distribution system is implemented, you will be paid according to how much work you do," the old gatekeeper explained the rules to them. "You have to be on time to go to get off work every day. If you are late or leave early, your wages will be deducted. The money will be paid once a week."

"Sir, how much do you usually get paid each month?" someone couldn't help but subtly inquire about the factory's wages.

The old man said calmly, "I used to be paid by the organization, but now I belong to Jianle Nursing Home, and I haven't received my salary yet. But I'm different from you guys; my job is simple, and my salary is relatively fixed."

"Work hard, and the wages your boss gives you will definitely be commensurate with the effort you put in!"

The Zhao family members nodded listlessly and took their tools to clean up.

They hadn't experienced much hardship before, and they were okay at first, but this building had several floors, each with a considerable area. Cleaning one room after another left them so tired that they couldn't straighten their backs.

After a long day, when they get home, they don't care about anything else; they just collapse onto the bed, too tired to even eat.

The house was finally quiet, and Grandpa Zhao felt completely comfortable.

Once his children and grandchildren have adapted to their work schedules and the nursing home is nearly finished being built, it will be his turn to act.

Two days passed in the blink of an eye, especially for those who crammed for the job recruitment exam at the last minute.

Excited, they dressed neatly, carried their bags, and headed to the nursing home.

Although the job requirements include a high school diploma or above, there are no other restrictions. Kyoto is crowded, and long queues had already formed outside the gate before dawn.

Ke Meiyu still brought a dozen or so staff members borrowed from the senior citizens' university, along with several thick stacks of exam papers.

Seeing so many people, she wasn't surprised at all.

The office building has been cleared out, and desks and chairs have been moved in in preparation for the exam.

Ko Mei-yu still made people line up in four queues.

The candidates carefully registered their information, holding their household registration certificates and proof of unemployment issued by the local street office, before receiving their exam papers and entering the examination room to take the exam.

Ke Meiyu prepared a lot of test papers.

The exam consisted of three subjects: Chinese, Mathematics, and a psychological test. This psychological test analyzed the respondent's personality and problem-solving style through question analysis and solutions. There were many questions, each with a different focus, but they all provided guidance for her work arrangements.

The difficulty of Chinese and Mathematics is similar to that of the college entrance examination, but it is more basic, so as long as you are a regular high school graduate, you will not find it too difficult.

After the exam, the candidates were covered in sweat and were told that the exam results would be posted in three days, followed by a second round of interviews.

They felt that the next three days would not be peaceful.

While Ke Meiyu and her team were grading the exam papers, several colleagues from the agency had already thoroughly investigated and organized the four compounds and the surrounding residential areas.

Old Master Zhao took a pen and marked things up on the door before handing it to someone above for review.

This was a thankless task. Since the old man was willing to play the villain, the higher-ups were naturally happy to do so as well. They not only agreed but also wrote documents to encourage other places to follow suit, so that the organization's housing resources could be used to their fullest potential.

The old man, accompanied by a group of elderly men and women and guards, headed aggressively towards the Ling family's residence.

It was the weekend, and the weather was very hot, so the Ling family members were all lazily staying at home.

The Ling family has many members, but unlike the Zhao family, they don't have a pillar to support them. Since Old Master Ling passed away, the family has fallen apart. It's good enough if they can find a job; they can't be picky.

Most of them also stayed in the compound, hoping to make more connections and make their work easier.

Even the living room has to be furnished with several four-poster beds and then covered by wardrobes, making it feel extremely cramped.

When a group of elderly men and women knocked on the door, the whole house was either lying down or sitting, but no one opened the door. Frustrated, they finally shouted, "Aunt Lu, go open the door..."

Aunt Lu had just finished serving the whole family a meal and was washing dishes in the kitchen when she heard the noise. Helplessly, she wiped her hands and came out. Seeing everyone busy with their own things, she quickly went to open the door.

"Xiao Lu, this is none of your business, go ahead and do your work," an elderly woman said to the nanny, Aunt Lu, as she entered. Then, turning her head to look around, she called out to the Ling family members, who were still confused, "Is the eldest sister of the Ling family here?"

Grandma Ling likes to lounge around for a while after eating. The Ling family always eats late, sometimes an hour or two later than other families.

She's getting old and lacks energy; her head is throbbing from being yelled at.

But Old Mrs. Ling still got up, quickly dressed, tidied her hair, and went out. When she saw a group of important figures in the compound, her eyelids twitched.

Seeing that the younger generation was so oblivious to their surroundings, each reading newspapers, eating fruit, watching TV, and listening to music, she became furious. "Get up, all of you! Can't you see the guests have arrived? If you don't know how to entertain guests, go back to your rooms. You're just an eyesore and annoyance!"

After saying that, she looked helplessly at Grandpa Zhao and the others: "Sigh, no matter how old the children in the family are, they are all so ignorant. They just do whatever you tell them to do. It's really infuriating."

The Ling family members got up listlessly and reluctantly, and without greeting the guests, they went into their own room.

Grandpa Zhao and the others couldn't help but frown and shake their heads. With the younger generation like this, they would hardly amount to anything in the future.

Grandma Ling was already used to it, and she called the nanny to pour water and bring fruit to entertain the guests.

Grandpa Zhao waved his hand, "We won't sit down, we just want to say a few words to you."

"Comrade Zhang Xiaolan, you should know that the houses we live in are all provided by the organization, and there are certain requirements. Although Comrade Ling was of a high enough rank, he has already passed away, and according to the rules, the house should be taken back."
