When these men had jobs, they supported their families and had a lot of say. Sometimes, after drinking a little, they would come home and beat their wives, then fall asleep without saying a word.
However, they are currently unemployed at home, even though it was mentioned above that the chemical plant is now under the management of Ke Meiyu.
At first, they were unhurried and would occasionally gather to discuss the issue, noting that many companies had to provide certain compensation when accepting employees.
They must not be soft-hearted at that time; they must unite and work together to seek greater benefits and see if they can get their salaries increased by one level.
They're waiting at home. The factory has been completely demolished, but they haven't received a single piece of news. Do they really expect them to wait until the new factory is built?
It won't take a year or two to complete?
The employees were getting restless, but they had been assigned to a new unit and knew nothing about anything. Even if they wanted to ask questions, they were afraid of offending someone and being retaliated against.
Only these bold men with some connections, who used to bully others in the factory, came knocking on our door.
Seeing that Ke Meiyu was so young and beautiful, they stared at her intently.
They can't do anything in public, but there's no law that says they can't see.
Ke Meiyu raised her eyebrows slightly, fiddling with something in her hand, when suddenly she stumbled as the thing inside rushed towards them.
They were stunned for a moment, then heard a few whooshing sounds, followed by intense pain on their faces and arms.
Ko Mei-yu has to oversee many things; this is her checking toothpick samples.
No one knows how she threw it, but each person had two or three nails stuck in their body, on their ears, chins, cheeks, necks, etc., which terrified the group of men and made them break out in a cold sweat.
"Oh, I'm sorry," she said with a faint smile, "I thought you were all aware and would know to give way."
The men were somewhat embarrassed by what they'd been told, and one of them pressed on, "Teacher Xiao Ke, we can't just stay at home forever, can we? We all need to support our families; how can we manage if we suddenly lose our source of income?"
Ke Meiyu shrugged. "When you were getting paid without doing any work before, why didn't you say the organization was losing money? You've seen it yourself, I'm currently building a house, there's no work for you to do, how could I possibly pay you?"
“My money didn’t grow on trees. I borrowed a lot of money from the bank and I’m just waiting to finish building the houses and start construction. I will definitely arrange jobs for you then.”
The men wouldn't listen to her excuses; they blocked her path one by one, determined to get the most satisfactory answer.
"Alright then," Ke Meiyu glanced at them, she'd left them hanging for long enough, it was time to settle things.
"Go back and inform all employees who used to work at the chemical plant to assemble at the playground on the west side of the factory. I have something to discuss with you all."
The men looked at each other, could only nod in agreement, and left reluctantly after asking for the time.
In the spring, various universities hold recruitment fairs, both public and private, all gathered in the activity hall. Each company has a table with a flyer on it, clearly explaining how to apply.
Private companies that are in short supply of talent don't have many requirements for students and offer good compensation.
Publicly-owned businesses generally don't have many employees willing to sit at the table. They usually just stick their flyers on the table, put a stack of them on it, ask someone nearby to watch over them, and then they never come back.
Whether a candidate can participate in the entrance examination on time and whether they can pass the examination depends on a combination of luck and ability.
Ke Meiyu doesn't have any formal employees at the travel agency yet, so she borrowed two young people from the nursing home's admissions office this time.
The three of them sat at a table with a thick stack of attractive promotional flyers in front of them.
Moreover, a rather large recruitment poster was erected next to it, which was particularly novel and eye-catching, and they had also secured a good location.
The students saw this place as soon as they entered, and with curiosity and a love for beautiful things, they couldn't help but gather around.
Both officers were dressed in neat and formal suits, giving the impression of being shrewd, experienced, and capable professionals. They smiled as they handed out flyers, loudly proclaiming, "Students, don't miss this opportunity! A rare chance for promotion, salary increases, and unlimited career prospects!"
"You can choose not to choose, but we will not allow you to be ignorant..."
"Our promotional leaflet has limited space and cannot fully answer your questions or clearly explain the advantages of this job. We sincerely invite everyone to attend the recruitment fair of Xia Hua Travel Agency at 7 PM tonight in our First Auditorium. There will be some lovely little gifts there..."
Where had the college students ever seen anything like this?
They were dumbfounded when they were handed flyers, and seeing the two officers smiling warmly and extending a sincere invitation, they smiled and nodded, saying they would definitely come.
Travel agencies are still a relatively novel thing these days.
They were about to graduate and had nothing to do that evening, so they went over after dinner to digest.
The group didn't really take it to heart, but since they had nothing else to do that night and didn't have to study, they went to the auditorium in groups of two or three to watch the excitement.
Originally, the auditorium was just a huge room on the first floor, with large classrooms on both sides for general education classes. Now, there's a rainbow archway at the entrance, wrapped with colored light bulbs, and the five large characters of Xia Hua Travel Agency are surrounded by tiny light bulbs, making it exceptionally dazzling.
Everyone was intrigued and went inside to take a look, only to find that there were already many people there.
The once densely packed seats are now reduced to two rows of tables facing each other in the middle, which are laden with various drinks and unusual desserts.
The two staff members warmly invited everyone to eat, saying there would be more after they finished.
