Soon Ke Meiyu learned about the family that was selling the house, and by then, a table was full of food.
Braised pork trotters, four-happiness meatballs, eight-treasure duck, chopped chili fish head, roasted lamb chops, braised chicken with potatoes, stir-fried cabbage with vinegar, dry pot bean sprouts, tofu, vermicelli and dried shrimp soup, and a pot of white flour steamed buns!
Master Di rubbed his hands together and said, "I got carried away and made too much."
"You eat first. If you don't have enough money or coupons, consider it my treat."
The waiters chimed in, "Count us in too, we just had some of the old lady's sandwiches."
Ke Meiyu held her chopsticks, her eyes brimming with emotion: "When I left home, my grandma and my mother gave me countless warnings, afraid that I would be kidnapped by bad people."
"There are still more good people than bad in this world! Don't worry, Master Di, just for the color and aroma alone, I can make sure you pay for everything!"
Master Di said with a smile, "Even if it's delicious, we can't eat it all. If you can't finish it, you can take it with you and let your mother try it."
As he was speaking, Qin Yuanjiu came in. He raised an eyebrow at the sumptuous meal. His little woman was always successful, leaving him no chance to show his skills.
Fortunately, Ke Meiyu still knew to smile and wave at him: "Ninth Brother, the head chef is so hospitable. He has all the food I wanted. Did you bring enough money and tickets?"
"If you didn't bring enough, I can leave you here to wash dishes," Qin Yuanjiu said with a faint smile, nodding to the group before sitting down and whispering in her ear.
Ke Meiyu took a big bite of the steamed bun with a fierce "Ah!" and said, "If you prick me again, I won't let you eat and drink the best food with me next time!"
"What if you can't resist?" Anyone who sees an inflated pufferfish would want to poke it, right?
"Hold it in," she hummed, and began to fully enjoy the food.
With nothing much to do, the chefs and waiters sat on the sidelines, chatting and watching Ke Meiyu and the others eat.
These two are not only pleasing to the eye, but they also make your meal exceptionally appetizing.
The chefs and waiters had just finished eating and were still feeling a bit hungry.
They couldn't resist starting to eat the meat buns left over from the morning.
Before long, Ke Meiyu and Qin Yuanjiu had cleared out the entire table of food.
"Your daughter is so honest!" The head chef was both happy and touched; this was enough for five or six men. "Whatever you want to eat in the future, come to Uncle Di's place, it'll be as much as you want!"
Qin Yuanjiu paid the full amount of money, but was stuffed with a bag full of meat buns.
"Take it, it's leftovers from this morning. If you don't eat it, we'll keep it for ourselves..."
"Yes, we eat meat buns every day, and the kids are tired of them. Let's just consider it a change from your sandwiches..."
Ke Meiyu hugged the buns without any hesitation. "Master Di's buns have such beautiful pleats and generous fillings. They're so juicy, I'm drooling just looking at them. I'll have my mom try them when we get home!"
Leaving the supply and marketing cooperative, Qin Yuanjiu couldn't help but pat her head, "You really raised a daughter."
