Su Li returned to the town in the evening, and Ji Tinglan had already returned.
When he saw Su Li coming back, he immediately came to greet her and then took her hand back to the house.
"Back to Sujia Village?"
"Um."
"How are things going at my parents-in-law's house?"
"Almost done. When I came back, my dad was getting ready to sign the lease contract. He just needed to pack up the things at home. I estimate it will be almost done by tomorrow."
Ji Tinglan nodded: "In that case, shall we return to Beijing the day after tomorrow?"
Su Li raised his eyebrows.
Ji Tinglan was a little surprised: "What's wrong?"
"I thought you would want to bring your father-in-law and his family to live in the capital."
"I originally had this plan, but because of Pei Xiuli's matter, I thought Dad is still sad. If I tell him about this now, he might not be in the mood..."
"Let's leave it at that for now and talk about it after a while."
Su Li said, "If my father-in-law knew that my parents had gone to the city and you hadn't mentioned this to him, I'm afraid he would think too much."
Ji Tinglan was stunned for a moment, then said, "Then I'll go back to Taohua Village tomorrow?"
"Well, go ahead. Tell my father-in-law first. We can discuss when to go later..."
The next day, Ji Tinglan went back to Taohua Village. Just like the original novel, Pei Cheng was reluctant to leave Taohua Village, especially since Pei Xiuli died in the capital. He was even more reluctant to go.
When Ji Tinglan found out that there was no need to force him, he only promised to come back to see him often and left him a lot of banknotes.
In Sujia Village, Su Zheng's family affairs had been almost dealt with, and Su Li sent someone to inform them to set off on the same day.
Su Zheng and his wife were fine and slept soundly all night. However, Su Shen was so excited when he learned that the carriage was going to the capital that he couldn't sleep all night.
So when Su Li's carriage arrived in the morning, he came out with dark circles under his eyes.
Su Zheng and his wife were shocked: "What's wrong with you?"
Su Shen was a little embarrassed: "I, I was so happy that I couldn't sleep all night last night, hehe!"
Su Zheng nodded his head and scolded him with a smile: "You are a good-for-nothing."
Su was also laughing beside him.
Su Li sent three carriages to Sujia Village.
One was an ordinary carriage bought temporarily in Luocheng, used to carry the books of Su Zheng and his son. The other two were carriages from the Zhuangyuan Mansion, which were custom-made by Su Li, one for Su Shen and one for Su Zheng and his wife.
After moving everything, the family took a carriage to the town to meet Su Li.
In the town, in front of Su Li's house, Pei Cheng and Pei Cong came to see them off.
After learning that Pei Xiuli had died, Zhang fell ill and was bedridden for several days. Pei Xiuluo and Pei Cong's wife were taking care of her at home.
Ji Tinglan was talking to Pei Cheng and Pei Cong when Su Zheng and his family arrived.
Since they were all relatives, Su Zheng naturally got off the carriage and greeted Pei Cheng first.
Ever since Su found out about what Zhang had done to her daughter, she was lucky enough not to scold her. Seeing that Zhang was not around, she didn't even bother to ask a single question.
It was getting late, and after saying goodbye to each other, Su Li and his group got on the carriage and set off.
"Dad, Pei Cong, we're leaving. Don't see us off. Go back..."
Pei Cheng nodded, with reluctance in his eyes: "Dad knows, hurry up and get in the car..."
Pei Cong was also reluctant to leave: "Brother, take care on your journey. Come back to see Dad when you have time. If not, we will go to the capital to see you..."
Ji Tinglan nodded: "Okay."
Then he got on the carriage.
As the carriage started, the group moved forward slowly.
Pei Cheng and his son watched the group's carriage until it was out of sight before returning to Taohua Village.
