The house had already been cleaned by the couple, so Su Li went directly to the largest furniture store in town and bought two large beds, a wardrobe, a desk, a bookshelf, a dining table and a tea table.
I bought two more quilts and various kitchen utensils. After a busy afternoon, the new house was finally decorated.
She first placed a tea table in the yard, and it was nice to sit in the yard and drink tea in her spare time.
The layout of the house in the backyard is similar to that of Taohua Village, with a kitchen and Pei Ji's study, which contains bookshelves, Pei Ji and Pei Chuer's desks, and a bed.
The other room, which contained a wardrobe, a dressing table and a large bed, was her and Pei Chuer's room.
Pei Chuer lay on the big bed covered with a thick mattress and said in a baby voice, "Mom, the bed is so big and comfortable!"
Su Li also lay down, closed her eyes and said, "It's so comfortable..."
It was much more comfortable than the small bed at home, and the room was much more spacious and taller. Fortunately, she decided to buy it. From now on, she wouldn't have to live back in the low mud house in the village...
After lying down for a while, she took Pei Chuer out to a small restaurant for lunch. After all, the kitchen utensils were not complete, so she simply went out to eat.
In the afternoon, she hired a donkey cart and went back to Taohua Village. She moved out the painting tools and the books in Pei Ji's study, and also brought the two chickens at home to the new house in town.
After moving her things and settling the two chickens, she went to buy kitchen utensils and some charcoal. Many well-off families in the town would use charcoal for heating or cooking, so she simply bought some to try it out. If she wasn't used to it, she would just ask Mr. and Mrs. Lin to bring her firewood another day.
Now, she is a wealthy woman who has no shortage of money!
The next day, it rained heavily again.
Leaving Pei Chuer at home to practice calligraphy, Su Li went to a furniture shop not far away with an oil-paper umbrella. The shop didn't have the cabinet she wanted, so she stated her requirements and ordered a counter, two wooden shelves, and a number of chairs to be placed in the portrait shop later.
After thinking about it, she ordered a chicken coop. The two chickens are now temporarily living in the toilet, which made the furniture store owner look at her strangely.
Until noon, the rain showed no sign of stopping, so she simply stayed at home to accompany Pei Chuer to write, and drew some interesting pictures by the way, and then framed them and hung them in the shop as decoration.
